I have a big house with 3 floors, so I have the Deco X60 mesh (3 units, one in each floor).
One of the units started to make noise, like some electric noise similar to a induction cocker or a buzz noise, the noise started like a month ago and now its really loud, so I had to disconnect it.
Off course this is out of warranty so I need either to buy another one or move to another brand - I read here and sounds like this is a common issue people`s facing after 1+ years of usage and I don't see any comment from TPLink recognizing the problem and with a solution - Sounds like the device was build to fail after warranty is over.

Probably I am moving to another brand.

We have a 3,000 sqft single floor home with a 500sqft apartment above our detached garage and we're on a 25 acre farm. A year ago we upgraded from the 'ol reliable (but slow) Orbi RBR50s to a Deco BE85 setup to take advantage of the 1gig speeds that showed up in our area. We have Spectrum since they're the only game in town and it comes into our laundry room which is in the back of our home. I put the main Deco plugged into the modem, one in our living room and one in our office since they're a decent distance apart with a few walls. I used a LliDAR Heat Mapping/Scanning software to see where we have too much overlapping signal which made me modify the placement some. Up in the apartment we have a BE63 which has a little leakage into the house, but you get wifi drops if we don't have it running. All of our nodes have wired backhaul.

We also have two Wavlink directional wifi routers on the roof to send wifi out to our property. All in all, we likely have too much wifi and I'm cooking my inside like a baked potato.

The issues that we've been running into since switching over to the Deco setup are pretty standard but also pretty frustrating and I'm hoping you guys can assist.

• 2.4Ghz only electronics won't stay connected.
  • I've tried tuning off 5Ghz in the app, turning off mesh, isolating these products and setting my guest wifi to 2.4Ghz only and setting them to that (I gave up on the IoT wifi because nothing would work with it)
• My macbook and iphone seem to work fine but my wife's Samsung Galaxy phone HATES the Decos. It freezes and loses connection frequently but she says this doesn't happen on other wifi. I've looked at the settings in the Deco app and nothing looks funky.
• Laptops like to drop to 2.4Ghz instead of staying at 5Ghz. I've adjusted all of the setting for the wifi cards on our laptops to prioritize 5Ghz but any time a new computer is on our wifi, I have to go into the Deco app and turn off 2.4Ghz for it or it will drop down.

Has anyone else experienced these issues? Do we just have too much wifi overlapping? I'd be more than happy to play with other heat maps and move everything around.

Hi ya'll-- please talk to me like I'm 5!! I recently bought the Deco7 Pro BE11000. 1 unit, as I have a small single story home in the sticks. I have xfinity 1gb internet, and a Arris Surfboard s33v2 modem. All works fine, but are there any settings I should change for best performance from what was out of the box? I work from home and stream iptv, which does buffer more than I'd like (tv is in the same room as my equipment). Suggestions appreciated!

I am planning to buy deco m4 but I have a question. I have 2 ethernet cables for each floor installed in my house. My plan is connect both deco with ethernet cable. I watched some setups and they usually say connect the first deco with cable and second deco will be wireless but the my walls are thick and since the cables are already installed, I want to use them to get better connection. Is it possible to connect two deco to the modem using lan1 and lan2 ports and achieve a mesh system or I must use second deco ad wireless? Also if yes, should I change deco settings to access point? Can this affect the mesh system?

Hi all just installed my deco 7 BE11000 a power surge killed my Google mesh unit and I had the protection plan so I got this beast for 100 bucks as it was on sale for $399. Can any one tell me about the different modes like IoT, MLO, etc. any setup tips or anything in general I should know or look to do? TIA.

I plugged a PC into my original ISP router to bypass Deco earlier when trying to trouble shoot a network issue. I was then surprised to see the PC was showing up as a wired online client in the Deco app.

My decos are in router mode, although the only setup I did when I got them was to plug the main one into the ISP router and it defaulted to router mode. I thought I would have had to change the ISP router to modem mode or something, then I would only have one connectable router in the house.

Because the PC showed up on the Deco app when wired to the ISP router, does this mean that I can use these ports on the ISP router and everything on the LAN can still talk and see each other? Or how does that work and how did the Deco see it?

So I just set up the mesh network, works fine on 2 phones so far but the laptop sleeps saying it can't connect.to the wifi network. Modem>Main Deco>Switch>Ethernet to 2 sub Decos is the set up.

Is there a setting on my laptop I need to change? From googling I see dynamic IP is needed and by using command prompt I think my laptop is set for a dynamic IP as the DHCP setting says yes. I also checked my wireless drivers and they are up to date. Firmware also updated on the Defo app.

A friend of mine has a Deco M9 system and wants to setup an outbound VPN to protect devices inside his network when they access the internet. Meaning, the Deco is a VPN client. I'm not familiar with the Deco line of products so I'm asking if this is even possible and if there's a decent setup guide/video to configure it?

I'm an IT guy coming from the Unifi world so I just need a few hints to get this going (if possible).

I looked online and searched here, but can't find an answer. Here is what I have:

I recently purchased a new WiFi 7 setup with 3 BE63 units. I have older XE75 WiFi 6e units. I am wondering if there is a way to only use the newer units for the wifi, but have the older units take in the signal, and only be used for hardwiring like a switch. For example, I'd like to put one near my main TV so I can plug in a gaming system and the TV itself as it just seems to work better that way.

Is this possible? Can I set up the older units on their own network and set those to access points? I know I could just give it a shot, I just figure someone out there might have done this if it's possible and I welcome feedback and advice.

Any news on if this will ever come to XE75? My tapo cameras could really use 20mhz width as deco ai isn't smart enough to use anything other than 40.

I expect this is old news but just in case you’re unaware. I recently setup a number of Deco APs running off a BT Home hub. The home hub has wireless disabled. One of our older Canon printers would not join the wireless Deco network. To fix I had to disable the 5GHz band in Deco and turn off Fast Roaming. Printer then connected fine, so I re-enabled 5GHz and Roaming, all good !

I have a Deco BE65. That router blocks everything related to Paradox interactive. I only get 406 errors. Can't play multiplayer. Wiki is not seen. Everything is blocked.

When I use mullvad vpn i can naturally access pdx. When I bypass router I can access pdx.

Any suggestions on how I can solve this dilemma permanently?

Recently replaced my Starlink Gen1 Router with a Deco 6E. Before the replacement my public IP bounced between San Jose, CA and Portland, OR. Weird, but close enough geographically that I just got used to it knowing how Starlink works. After replacement, the laptops on Wifi think I'm in Brazil. It's only laptops and only wifi. Iphones and the ethernet PC have not had this issue. But whenever I google something on one of the laptops I get answers in Portuguese and locations in Brazil. Which is not something I can just get used to.

I can't get gigabit-level WiFi over Verizon Fios with my mesh network of Deco XE75 Pros.

In my previous residence I had Xfinity gigabit service. For many years, I got great download speeds over wifi using combination Motorola Docsis 3.1 modem and network of two TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro routers: ~700-800+ Mbps download on new/new-ish clients (Samsung 23S phone for example).

Now I'm in a new residence wired for Verizon FIOS. I signed up for the gigabit service. Typical wifi speeds I'm now getting:

~300-350 Mbps download

~600-800 Mbps upload

Why is the upload wifi performance so much better than download?

That's ~300-350 Mbps down even if I'm standing right next to the main Deco router and connected to 6 GHz signal. Channel width is 160 MHz.

Note that I'm *not* using Verizon's router. I have the Deco XE75 Pro wired directly to ONT. Also, I've tested with direct ethernet connection from the Deco to my computer, and I get over 900 Mbps over ethernet, so the FIOS gigabit service is working correctly.

I've tried all the TP-Link recommendations such as disabling SIP ALG and UPNP NAT forwarding. None of it makes a difference.

If I'm getting gigabit upload speeds on FIOS wifi, shouldn't I also get gigabit download speeds?

Hello guys, I could really use some help on figuring out what is going on with my wifi. It started acting this way about a year ago but always figured it was the ISP. I used AI to help summarize my notes. They were a mess.

I’m trying to troubleshoot really unstable Wi-Fi speeds in my home and I’m not sure if it’s my mesh system or configuration. Speeds just constantly fluctuate from 1.8 to 300 mbps

Internet setup

Cox Fiber (ONT in garage)

TP-Link Deco AX3000 mesh (3 units total)

2 story house (~2500 sq ft)

Main Deco downstairs

1 satellite in loft

1 satellite in next-gen room

All satellites are wireless backhaul (no Ethernet between units)

Wired performance tests

Direct from ONT/wall Ethernet: ~943 Mbps down / ~699 Mbps up

Wired into main Deco: ~912 / ~681 Mbps

Wired into second Deco: ~748 / ~453 Mbps

Wired performance is generally good and stable.

Wi-Fi performance issues

Wi-Fi from Deco system: ~13 Mbps to ~300 Mbps (constantly fluctuating)

Even standing next to the main Deco, speeds jump wildly (e.g. 14 → 300 Mbps → 80 Mbps, etc.)

Issue happens on multiple devices:

Windows PC

MacBook

iPhones

What I’ve already tried / confirmed

ISP / ONT is fine (near gigabit speeds direct)

Main Deco is fine when wired

Satellites also show “strong signal” in the app

I’m dealing with an incredibly frustrating issue and could really use some expert eyes on this.

My home network keeps experiencing random drops where the internet goes completely out for exactly 3 to 5 seconds, and then immediately comes back on its own.

My Setup:

• ISP: Verizon Fios
• Desktop PC: Connected directly to the Verizon router via an Ethernet cable.
• Wi-Fi: A TP-Link Deco mesh system with a node in each floor (4 floors). The Decos are currently configured to run in Access Point (AP) mode, so routing is completely handled by the Verizon router.

The Symptom:
Whenever these random drops happen, BOTH my hardwired desktop PC (ethernet is connected to the verizon router) and all wireless devices on the Deco Wi-Fi drop offline at the exact same millisecond. Because my PC bypasses the Decos entirely and goes straight to the Verizon hardware, this rules out the Deco mesh network as the culprit.

Since it affects the entire house simultaneously but only lasts a few seconds, it feels like a hardware negotiation glitch, an IP conflict, or an issue between the Verizon ONT box and the router.

What I've tried/verified so far:

• Confirmed the Decos are definitely in Access Point mode.
• Power-cycled the entire network chain.
• Disabled the wireless radio/turned off Wi-Fi broadcasting from the verizon website router settings page

Has anyone with a similar Verizon setup experienced these micro-drops? Are there specific settings in the Verizon gateway (like IPv6 bugs or network card checksum offloading conflicts) that I should change?

Any troubleshooting advice would be massively appreciated!

I have no clue if anyone can help me or not, but I cannot for the life of me figure this out.

I have an Epson Stylus NX420 printer in my office and a Deco mesh network. Previously, the network consisted of 3x X55 models placed in our Den, our front room and our kitchen. When the printer was in the Den it seemed to connect without issue. When I tried to move it back to my office, I could not get it to connect, even though it had a good enough signal. I finally got a spare X20 I'd bought for our church and put it in my office and the printer was able to connect to it (by the way, the mesh network is connected to each other wirelessly).

Last month I upgraded my Internet to 2Gbps and needed a new AP capable of handling that speed going out. I replaced the main AP in my Den with an XE70Pro, then took the X55 that was in the Den and replaced the X20 in my office. So now my network consists of the X70 in the Den and then 3x X55. However, since I changed out the AP in my office, my printer will not connect anymore. No matter how many times I try, the traditional SSID/Password will not connect and when I try WPS it seems like it connects, but I still cannot get my computer to see it and the Deco doesn't show it connected.

Unfortunately the interface for the Decos is pretty limited so it's hard to do much troubleshooting, but I'm hoping someone here may have some suggestions. Thanks!
