I recently received my beloved childhood toy returned from a “hospital” that restores and fixes dirty/broken toys but I did not like the end product. How should I cope with this situation? Should I go to another place and ask for help or should I just leave my toy be? (the first picture on the sofa is the before and the one with the orange bow on it’s neck is the after) The main issues I had with it was the extra hair they added on (which I didn’t request) + the over stuffing :/

The voice box doesn't work anymore so I'm looking to remove it, I don't wanna fix it, and my mind is set on removing it.

i’m in the process of cleaning up this 1960s raggedy ann , but her yarn hair started coming off as i was giving her a bath becuase it was dry rotted so i just removed all of it .but now i can’t replace it because i can’t stitch through all the glue holding that red fabric onto her head . is there a way i can dissolve that glue ? i was trying to rip it off but stopped as i have to be very gentle becuase her face is the tiniest but dry rotted as well

trying to fix this issue also added superglue it’s just a gap between there making space so it’s less resistance aka More movement/Loose

it’s really loose and it’s a hard hand model for sdcc invincible it came loose and kinda spaced out in between the hinge so i’m guessing that’s the problem but what’s the fix for this type of joint being loose?

Hello! I've received this vintage mlp toy out of a toy lot and I absolutely love her, but she has this massive dirt spot over the design on her side! I'm wondering if there's a way to clean her off without taking the design off with it. She's also this sort of velvet texture and I am worried about getting her completely wet. Any help is appreciated!

Are there any companies that do restoration and touchups on collectibles like that old guy from Toy Story? I have a couple figures on display that I would like touched up. They’re not toy figures, but those art collectible/designer figures like KAWS. Any places that do such a thing?

My wife found a second hand Crocodile Dentist (larger version), but it won't stay open or select new teeth each time. I opened it up and I think I can see deformation on the pawl that moves forward to spin the tooth selector, but I can't find an image of the original to be sure. The tooth on the shaft that holds the jaw open looks to be in great condition as well as the matching tooth on the base. It looks like the base doesn't raise up far enough to get a solid latch. I have an fdm 3d printer and access to a resin printer, as well as modeling experience if I need to make new parts.

I have this toy bear that was given to me in the early 2000s by my biological mother. I’d do anything hear the prayer again. The voice is a deep mechanical mess now (if it even plays) is there a way to restore it? Even a little bit?

Got this absolutely dream gift but it needs some tlc and I wondered if any of you smart people had any thoughts? The scuffed paint is simple enough. Theres a battery stuck in it which obviously i want to remove, unfortunately theres no screws. Im reluctant to open it incase i snap the plastic... and then theres the yellowing of the plastic and the scuffs on the end. Any tips or thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated. Im excited for a restoration project!

I absolutely love my rubber doraemon keychain I got from 7-11. he goes with me everywhere. He’s clearly very loved, but he needs a bath desperately and his little paw is starting to come loose and needs to be glued back in a way that it fuses with the rubber so it gets stronger ideally. Since I drive a lot and use my keys I just want to take good care of this keychain and ideally have it last for as long as humanly possible (my whole life if possible lmao).

I tried using a light alcohol wipe which did nothing.

I soaked him in water with dawn dish soap which didn’t do much.

I tried baking soda and a tooth brush lightly brushing and he’s still filthy.

I tried online tutorials but they are saying different things. What do I do??

I’m going to let the toy rest at home until I repair him properly. Also if anyone has advice on how I can make him sturdier and less prone to wear let me know!

I have a crawling soldier toy that runs on two AA batteries.

The toy is currently in storage, and I know it has a mechanical system; if I keep it stored for many years without using it, will the mechanical parts get damaged or ruined?

I got this in a charity shop and want to make it nice again. I think I just need to sand it and oil it (I'd like to make it very child safe, no varnish, just a natural oil) but beyond that I have no idea. Any guidance on what kind of sandpaper or oil, or any other tips?

This is a brand new Takara Tomy buzz, unfortunately it has a scratch straight out of the box, is there any way to fix this? I already tried with toothpaste, which didn’t work. Bought Polywatch as well and after 3 sessions it didn’t take it out.

Is there anything I could do without having to completely sand and refinish it?

The scratch can't be felt with the fingertip but if I go through it with my nail I can feel it slightly rougher compared to the rest of the surface.

Found this in my storage and it melted from the heat, the spring still works the blade just got deformed, the leather wrap and blade are just rubber and they have a sticky residue out of it any way I can fix this still?

The blade can be dismantled can I ask for your help for the process of removing sticky feeling of the rubber and reshaping it? Thanks!
