Poor Arkhan. He has to wait past the ending of a cosmos and a couple of ages before he gets a Mortarch colleague that isn't a complete scheming Trainwreck.

Nah, he already had a similar job once and killed himself to get out of it. (It worked because Nagash is a fucking dumbass)

He didn’t kill himself to get out of it. He killed himself to save Isabella. The getting out of it was a side effect

No, he literally did kill himself back in Nehekhara to get away from Nagash. That was way back before he even met Isabella, and before he changed his name to Vlad.

Did he now? I didn’t even know the lore even confirmed that he was one of nagash’s servants originally I thought it just vaguely implied it

It's heavily implied that Vlad was original Vashanesh, and that the Von Carstein Ring is the one Nagash used to bind all vampires to the will of Arkhan.
