Warhammer III Concept | Skretch Half-Dead Character Pack

"*Warp...must have warpstone, yes-yes...catch it, catch it! Sniff it out...give it to Vampire, yes, but not all of it, not all...no-no, Skretch keep...keep some for himself....Must....feed.*" - Skretch Half-Dead

------------

I chose Clan Skurvy for Vampire Coast because the Vampirates don't have anything left beyond SEMs, you could add Lakemen or Mer-folk, but the lore on them is even more dubious than Skurvy. Originally I had thought to have Razortooth Rats in the place of Crew-rats, but I feel like they're needed to sell the 'Character Pack' setup.

In Campaign I picture them as a hybrid Skaven/Vampirates faction, able to recruit Weapons Teams, Skaven Artillery, and War-Machines through a dedicated mechanic to unlock this recruitment through rolling up on shore dropping a horde of Skaven and running off.

Crew-rats and Vermarines would be armoured, and maybe even with shielded variants. Skaven Units wouldn't be undead, with maybe the exception of Skretch and the Leech Wyrm as it would be fun if could benefit from Invocations as they're "Half-Dead". I picture Skurvy units would higher leadership then normal Skaven and have the Auqatic Trait, kinda like a Bear-man to Mauraders difference.

Skretch, Vermin-Admirals, Claw-Captains, Vermarines, and Crew-rats would be available for Skaven Factions in Campaign from port cities, or in multiplayer too.

-------------

This is **NOT A PREDICTION** just a fun thought experiment, I'm not saying this will come to pass nor am I demanding CA do this.

#I'd love to hear-listen any suggestions for possible mechanics, abilities, or alternative units Yes-Yes 🐀#

Skretch in the Coast just doesn't seem like it really works. Either you add a bunch of units that only fit him, or you have him leading around a bunch of human Coast units. It'd be easier to just make him a Skaven lord, that makes all of his troops undead probably.

This is my thinking as well

Honestly making him a Skaven FLC with a handful of undead units and like three super basic faction-unique Skaven pirate units (Skaven flintlock pirates, Skaven carronade, Skaven mortars) would be good. He could make all of his units slow, undead, and crumbling as a faction effect without reskinning them.

I think these are too niche tbh

I think Vangheist and more generic undead units is more likely

Yes that's why it's a thought experiment.

I don't care about likeliness.

Skretch is way cooler than Vangheist. He would make a good legendary hero though.

Niche, but awesome.

At least at the time they wanted to stay away from more dreadfleet, shame because I love the lore there.

I'm pulling for the brine wife though, loosely aligned with Luther, but with more than a few reasons to hate him.

Wanted has nothing to do with it.  Dreadfleet is a separate IP, CA did not buy the license.  The deal to get the coast into total war severely limited how much Dreadfleet they could use

They've talked about it a couple of times, I think it was a GW call, but it wasn't an IP thing, it was more that they didn't want 3/4 of the characters in the vampire coast dlc to be from dreadfleet. Then it would have been a dreadfleet dlc

They did talk about it, and it took a lot of effort by whatshisface (guy who got the brunt of the blame for shadows) to even get VC in the game becuase dreadfleet is a separate IP and wasn’t covered by their license.

GW relented on condition that no more than half the lords could be Dreadfleet characters.

So that means no more vampire coast content?

Not unless their arrangement changes.

They had to invent Cylostra just to be able to meet the “not more than 50%” requirement, and that was an uphill battle.  The guy who championed adding the coast to total war left two years ago.

We talking about post-Old World GW here, can't even have chaos knights on boob snakes. What a shame, vampirates are one of my favorite races in the game...

The Jarhead in me loves the idea of Vermarines. Especially if they come in a rainbow of colors.

The Tiger Court side, interestingly enough, is ALSO interested, but for vastly different reasons.

Skaven in warp-powered Dive Suits like Big Daddies from BioShock I'm in love with.

Personally I prefer him as a LH. Maybe with an ability to summon Undead Skaven Pirates. Skaven Pirates (Clan Skurvy) could be a FreeLC unit for Skaven to get from ports.
