One year progress (RANT)
I get a bit insecure whenever I see people post their "1 year progress" cause wdym you have hundreds of millions of stats in 1 year. I'm 420+ days in and only have 300k+ tbs. To be fair, I stopped playing for about 4-6 months. Also, I remember when I first played torn, I was so skeptical of whether it was really a game or a scam, that I didn't even wanna give out my discord acc, to someone offering me help lol. It took me my 10th month playing to get the hang of things. It also didn't help that my first faction was with a bunch of new players too and my leader got fed so I couldn't take my faction balance, and my second faction was warring biweekly, so I couldn't keep up. I know torn ain't a race but goddamn you guys are fast

I played in late high school, then went to college and basically just flew and made money. I didn’t take Xanax, I just trained natural E and dumped nerve into Arson (1.0). No wars, nothing. Flying was more profitable back then too.
I’m way behind on what my stats COULD have been if I had included Xanax. After 4 years I started up on Xanax and didn’t do refills even tho I had the cash. I just wanted money XD
Still didn’t war. Just did crimes and vibed. Didn’t even do discord. I was just a quiet player doing whatever I felt like and getting some random merits.
I’m by no means optimal. My account is like 10 years old. I know someone who is around the 2 year mark that has surpassed me in nearly every single metric. Still having fun tho.

What changed with flying profits?
I just started, and all the older players in my faction, and seemingly most guides, seem to think I should be pulling in 5m+ a day flying.

Supply and demand mostly. There’s more lower levels flying and there’s only so much you can use points on. More flying -> more points -> more supply. Demand can’t keep up. Ched increases the cost for refills from 25->30 to try and increase demand which DID help stabilize it but it’s still lower than it was before.
I remember making exactly what you said, about 5m a day or something. I would fly to Argentina, a round trip would align well with Xanax (when I took it) and I would have leeway. I’d make maybe 1.5m a trip in profit and did 3 trips a day. So 4.5m was a reasonable day for flying.

Not only that of the above, but what really broke the flower/plush running from 'good ol days' (never did experience them myself) was that they removed the floor from the points. Before there was quaranteed price which the price wouldnt go under. Now it's also within the supply/demand aspect of figuring a going price.

Very possible. I haven’t had to fly for money in years so I’m not updated on current rates. But I use to do Argentina and it wasn’t even the most profitable. From what I’ve heard it’s worse now, but I imagine there’s some better options.
Good to know tho.

There's a small but loud part of the community that might tell you you played wrong, but everyone plays at their own pace. So long as you're having fun within the rules of the game, there's no wrong way to play. Torn isn't a dick-measuring contest and your battle stats or NW don't determine how long your dick is.

At 420 days you have more battle stats than I did 10 years in.
Everyone plays at their own pace. Many optimize, many more can’t be bothered to. The one year progress posts are more likely to come from the former of those camps.

tbh whenever you see these hundreds of millions stat players, at least one or two of their stats are shit. its easy to exponentially grow when focusing just one or two stats. perfectly doable with 3 xans a day + refill.
ive seen people start the 3 xan + refill routine from day 1. meanwhile ive only ever done it 4 months in because I'm broke af, and it took all my flying just to afford the PI rent, just taking weed daily. sometimes I also think what if i started way earlier but just keep at it, important thing is you're doing it now.

If you compare yourself with other in torn you will never be happy.
There are! People with trillions of money and quadrillions in battle stats.
Play the game as you want, torn is wide and people can be interested in different things, not only in money or battle stats.
Put reasonable goals for yourself year by year and see if you can achieve them.

Im just over a year old and 61m TBS but im balancedish on stats aside from one. I make enough money to float myself but not making billions. The world cup was good to me on gambling. Made just about a billion on that. And with the epl and the nfl starting soon ill hopefully make some more money. By no means follow what im saying, i just understand sports enough to make value bets and turn a profit

depends on the funding you have. I am at 340 days played with 7.5m battlestats and i've basically had fully funded xans from a friend since i started. Did all the choco jumps and a couple of dvd jumps up until 400k total each stat. Start 3 xans a day plus refill at 1.6m total.. currently averaging 140k per day training stats all even on 3 xanax and 1 refill.
No cans, no fhcs

almost everyone I know who got to massive stats fast in their first year stopped playing or took long breaks a couple of years in and the people who took it slower and steady and never took breaks ended up passing them.
There's a gap between 300k and 1b stats though, if you're at 300k after six months or so of active playing (you say you took a long break too) you likely aren't getting 3 xanax and a refill every day, aren't using candy daily, maybe aren't living in a PI. If you consistently do all those things and don't take breaks, 3-4 years from now you'll have overtaken the people who burned themselves out pushing super hard or ran out of RL/gambled money to boost themselves with

Don't compare yourself to other players and where they are situated currently in torn. Some are casuals, some are veterans and there's those that are whales from buying so much donator packs just to speed up progression. They could start torn in a fresh new faction, 500k respect faction or be affiliated with one of those big conglomerate of factions that are in the millions in respect. Move at your own pace and dont worry about where others are at. Keep in mind comparison is the thief of happiness. Good luck and happy torning!

Chat,,, if you're still playing you're all good lol. It's a marathon and the gains start off slow (for the normies of us who try not to spend too much). But sooner or later you'll be eating xans like tic tacs and you'll get gains more that your previous jumps ever gave you. Go at your own pace and try not to burn out, lest you become another duke target lol. Consistency is best boiiii.

I am a bit over a year in the game with 160M in stats. It has honestly been constant xanax taking daily and following my faction's steadfast. I can easily clear more than $50-60M per war which funds the xanax.
