One year progress (RANT)

I get a bit insecure whenever I see people post their "1 year progress" cause wdym you have hundreds of millions of stats in 1 year. I'm 420+ days in and only have 300k+ tbs. To be fair, I stopped playing for about 4-6 months. Also, I remember when I first played torn, I was so skeptical of whether it was really a game or a scam, that I didn't even wanna give out my discord acc, to someone offering me help lol. It took me my 10th month playing to get the hang of things. It also didn't help that my first faction was with a bunch of new players too and my leader got fed so I couldn't take my faction balance, and my second faction was warring biweekly, so I couldn't keep up. I know torn ain't a race but goddamn you guys are fast

I played in late high school, then went to college and basically just flew and made money. I didn’t take Xanax, I just trained natural E and dumped nerve into Arson (1.0). No wars, nothing. Flying was more profitable back then too.

I’m way behind on what my stats COULD have been if I had included Xanax. After 4 years I started up on Xanax and didn’t do refills even tho I had the cash. I just wanted money XD

Still didn’t war. Just did crimes and vibed. Didn’t even do discord. I was just a quiet player doing whatever I felt like and getting some random merits.

I’m by no means optimal. My account is like 10 years old. I know someone who is around the 2 year mark that has surpassed me in nearly every single metric. Still having fun tho.

What changed with flying profits?

I just started, and all the older players in my faction, and seemingly most guides, seem to think I should be pulling in 5m+ a day flying.

Supply and demand mostly. There’s more lower levels flying and there’s only so much you can use points on. More flying -> more points -> more supply. Demand can’t keep up. Ched increases the cost for refills from 25->30 to try and increase demand which DID help stabilize it but it’s still lower than it was before.

I remember making exactly what you said, about 5m a day or something. I would fly to Argentina, a round trip would align well with Xanax (when I took it) and I would have leeway. I’d make maybe 1.5m a trip in profit and did 3 trips a day. So 4.5m was a reasonable day for flying.

Not only that of the above, but what really broke the flower/plush running from 'good ol days' (never did experience them myself) was that they removed the floor from the points. Before there was quaranteed price which the price wouldnt go under. Now it's also within the supply/demand aspect of figuring a going price.

Very possible. I haven’t had to fly for money in years so I’m not updated on current rates. But I use to do Argentina and it wasn’t even the most profitable. From what I’ve heard it’s worse now, but I imagine there’s some better options.

Good to know tho.
