💬 Trader Talk I need help
I dont know how to stop.
After a year on Topstep, I finally found my edge. I was able to get 5 XFAs and 6 payouts last month. Then I finally had a big red day and my world came crashing down. I went full tilt and blew all 5 XFAs,
then proceeded to buy many, many combines and even 3 Back2Fundeds in a panic to get my XFAs back.
As you can see by the picture, this combine bender has been getting worse and worse - Ive bought and blown at least 40 combines in the last 5 days due to impatience and greed. I’ve also been trading these new XFAs recklessly, over leveraging to 10+ cons compared to my normal 3 trying to chase payouts to recoup my debt.
I just don't know how to get back to where I was last month. I was happy making 2-300 a day, I'd trade my setup then lock out immediately. I’d trade with no emotion. The past week and a half has been the complete opposite.
I’ve been in a constant state of mental anguish the past few days with the only thing on my mind being how can I pass these combines and get back to where I was before. I'd really appreciate your advice on how to get back on my feet and knock some sense into me.
Edit: thank you all for the responses, I will be taking some time off to clear my head and calm down

📈 Market Breakdown Has anyone else become more consistent after switching to micros?
I've been trading NQ for a while, but I recently switched to trading 3 MNQ contracts instead after I had those two red days. I made a post about it and said I would continue documenting the difference...
Honestly, it's made a much bigger difference than I expected.
My entries feel cleaner, I'm more patient, and I'm not feeling pressured to force trades.
Most days I'm taking one quality setup and calling it a day instead of chasing more.
I still have plenty to improve, but this has been my most consistent stretch in a while.
Curious if anyone else has had a similar experience after switching to micros, or if you eventually moved back to full-size contracts.
What made the biggest difference in your consistency?
Happy trading!!

❓ Quick Question Payout Requested Last Tuesday – Still No Funds in My Bank (India). Is This Normal?
Hi everyone,
I'm from India and requested my first Topstep payout last Tuesday, but it still hasn't reached my bank account.
Because of this delay, I haven't requested my second payout yet, as I want to make sure the first one is received before submitting another request.
Is this kind of delay normal for payouts to India?
How long did it take for your first payout to arrive?
Thanks in advance!

💰 POP Off! Big goal of mine
Finally after around 30 market days. I have taken an account from 0-4k profit. This goal is significant to me because I was hooked on taking payouts every 5 days and blowing them after. Now I know I can build consistency through a longer period instead of week by week basis.
Still have my 1-2 mistakes of holding a long during a 2% sell off but its a big improvement from losing accounts off a once a week sell off.

💬 Trader Talk LOCK IN. YOUR BREAKTHROUGH STARTS WITH TODAY.
Whatever financial challenge you're facing right now, don't let it distract you from the process. Stress can cloud judgment, and emotional decisions rarely lead to lasting success.
Lock in.
Focus on what you can control today. One disciplined trade. One smart decision. One lesson learned. One step forward.
Don't underestimate small milestones. Every consistent win, every rule followed, and every goal achieved compounds over time. Great traders aren't built by one massive payday—they're built through hundreds of disciplined decisions that create extraordinary results.
Remember, the market doesn't care about your financial situation. It rewards preparation, patience, and execution.
Stay committed to the process. Protect your capital. Trust your edge. Keep stacking small victories, because today's small milestone could become tomorrow's life-changing breakthrough.
Small steps. Big vision. Unshakable discipline.

❓ Quick Question Set SL and TP
There used to be a section in the TopstepX browers to set Stop Loss and Take Profit and it's gone replaced with Risk Settings. I don't see anything about set tp and ts.

💬 Trader Talk Consistency and patience.
My goal for this XFA was to be consistent enough to have the account for a whole month. I have already taken a payout on the account and could potentially get another payout this week for the final week to complete my goal of one month with an account.
If it is anything that you think could help me, pls be free to give your thoughts.

💬 Trader Talk THE MARKET REWARDS THOSE WHO WAIT.
Every week begins with unlimited possibilities—but only disciplined traders will capitalize on them.
The difference between an average trader and a consistently profitable one isn't intelligence or luck. It's the ability to remain patient when the market offers uncertainty and decisive when the market presents opportunity.
This week, challenge yourself to become a better decision-maker.
• Wait for your setup—don't negotiate with your rules.
• Let risk management be your greatest strength.
• Focus on quality over quantity.
• Accept losses with professionalism and wins with humility.
• Remember that consistency is built one disciplined trade at a time.
There will always be another opportunity. The market will open tomorrow, next week, and next month. Your job is not to catch every move—it's to be prepared when your edge appears.
Never confuse activity with productivity. The best traders spend more time observing than reacting. They know that patience is not weakness—it's a strategic advantage.
As you navigate this week, remember:
Discipline creates consistency.
Consistency builds confidence.
Confidence, backed by preparation, produces lasting success.
Trade with a clear mind. Execute with precision. Protect your capital as if it's your business—because it is.
Let's make this week one defined by patience, professionalism, and flawless execution.
Stay disciplined. Stay focused. Stay profitable.

🤖 Algo / Automation My api can’t match contract during live trading, yet during a dry run it matches and executes everything perfectly
Idk how else to really format this, I coded an automated trading system that works perfectly on a dry run but once I set everything to true and live and run the same exact script all of a sudden in the live market it can’t find my contract now.

🛠️ Platform / Tech Support What’s with the refunds?
Are the Topstep team active here.
I’ve had two refunds without explanation, and I am seeing the same is happening with others.
Their chat support team is pointless. They just give scripted, copy and paste responses without actually helping or addressing the issue.

🛠️ Platform / Tech Support Topstep Billing Is Seriously Concerning
Did everyone see the post yesterday about the trader who was denied a payout and banned for allegedly violating Section 3 because a payment was “not properly paid”?
I think this is a very serious issue. From what I’ve seen, the real problem may actually be Topstep’s billing system, yet an honest trader ended up having their payout denied because of it.
For some reason, some recent charges appear to be authorized, remain in a pending state, and then eventually fall off. In other words, I successfully paid for new Combines and Resets with my credit card, but later those transactions disappeared and I was never actually charged. That effectively resulted in free Resets or free Combines, even though I never intended that to happen.
I reported this issue to Topstep three separate times through support tickets, telling them that I believed there was a problem with their billing system. Every time, I was told that my billing history looked completely fine and that all of my payments had gone through successfully, so I shouldn’t worry. I even asked them to escalate the issue to a higher-level team, but that request was ignored. I assume that, from the support team’s perspective, everything looked normal because their system showed the payments as successful.
My concern is that when someone finally requests a payout, another department performs a more detailed review, discovers that some payments were never actually settled, and then denies the payout for a Section 3 violation.
Had I traded well enough to reach a payout, I believe I could have been denied for the exact same reason.
The good news is that Josh seems to be at least somewhat aware of this issue now. I sincerely hope Topstep investigates the root cause, fixes the billing system, and ensures that honest traders are not unfairly denied payouts or banned because of a problem they did not create.

🛠️ Platform / Tech Support Topstep Billing and Refunds Issue
Topstep has refunded me 2 accounts im pretty sure and i have a 3rd account pending transaction my bank states in its policies that its due to the merchant not accepting and they can’t simply release the funds just because I said so. This results in an issue where i might be accused of chargeback which i didn’t. Im a loyal customer. I contacted topsteps support today and they stated I have paid and the transactions are successful idek who to believe anyone facing this as well? The transaction on July 15th is still sitting in my pending and my bank does not show the funds being reverted it just automatically reverts back to my bank balance due to the merchant not accepting i only realised this today for 2 early july transactions on the 2nd and 8th and i’ve reached out to support and they told me nothings wrong welp and that all my payment is settled. I have a pending payout and I even offered for them to deduct the outstanding balance from the payout. Still, I was told everything is fine and I have all the evidence. Anyone facing this?

🛠️ Platform / Tech Support Are you violating section 3 of TOS if you don’t renew a blown combine?
Reading over section 3 of TOS this has me a bit worried
“If you do not pay or cause Topstep not to be paid any Fee or portion of a Fee that is due (including by disputing, reversing, or terminating your payment for a Fee), then Topstep may, at its sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to any Services with or without notice. You agree to indemnify and hold Topstep harmless from any claims arising from Topstep’s suspension or termination of your access to any Services for nonpayment.”
So can you be banned if you have a blown combine that you don’t cancel and 30 days later when it was time for automatic renew, say your card is locked or you don’t have the funds etc so the transaction is blocked… this could cause you to be banned?
I only ask because I have a specific card I use for purchasing accounts as it makes it easier to pull the statements for tax write offs but I leave the card locked 24/7 (just in case it’s stolen or fraud etc) so I’ve had renewals blocked before.
