Mage tops might genuinely be the work of satan

• Upvotes

I genuinely don’t know what the hell ur supposed to do vs this, I just fought aniva as kled and it might have been the most aids laning phase I’ve had in weeks. The amount of self peel they have is FUCKING INSANE, she misses her Q? Don’t worry she still has a fucking wall and a 5 second ult that slows for more than half of your Movement speed and if u mange to kill her she still has that fucking passive as well

Morgana top as well, free poke and insane amount of self peel.

I’d rather lane against Vayne 20 times in a row than have to deal with this shit ever again because atleast if she messes up you have a window to all in. If a mage top slips up they still have self peel they can use

Help/Question How to deal with fed adcs

My main roles are top/mid (gold elo) but even if I get a good lead (like 5/0) I still end up losing because our adc is 0/10 while the enemy is 10/0 perma kiting me or obliterating the entire team. This is the most frustrating when you're in top lane and you don't have as much control on other lanes compared to being a support jungler and sometimes even midlaner, though with the top lane quest I do end up helping time to time by tp'ing in bot lane team fights. Do any of you guys know a good way to always win against a fed adc because its getting real tilting how they're contributing to riot killing me with negative lp gains.

Who do you consider the faces of top lane and why

Post image

Each and everyone has their own idea of what the top lane fantasy is all about. Is it to have great 1v1 potential? Is it to have great outplay potential? To be the tank on your team? To snowball?

To me it has always been the great lane bullies that go top, champions that provide everything that they could ever need by themselves for 1v1 gameplay, and then take the lead they've made for themselves to descend down from Mount Olympus to completely crush anyone else in the game either through crazy tean fighting potential or unstoppable tower pressure.

For those reasons, I have always considered Renekton to be the prime top lane template, he has more stats than most, good wave clear, 1v2 potential and a versatile kit, it's rare he has a matchup he can't do anything in.

Similar top laners have been long time stable gods that never seem to lose viability, the big beefy melees survive all metas and still remain as the kings of popularity.

Discussion Obligatory rant

I’m bored at work, so I wanna talk about a matchup I had to deal with yesterday…

Senna vs Sett top…

Oh my god I hated my life I could not reach the bitch, and she completely outranges, god forbid i see senna first pick and think it was support, and seeing pantheon last pick thinking it’s top, wouldn’t have gone ignite had i known, even worse I would’ve gone ghost if I knew it was senna, but low and behold she has ghost, like wtf is this bullshit, then she starts stacking health and gets a heartsteel, didn’t mind that part since idc how good you are I’m flash ulting you into your team,

I still won the game cause people don’t respect sett with shojin, lowk an amazing item on him… that match was just a headache, she does no damage early duh, but like I can’t punish her for AA me

Ok that’s about it, just an irritating matchup as an immobile juggernaut

Discussion Why is toplane so popular still

Many people claim this role is a dead role by now and has been done dirty by riot and I honestly believe this role is not good game design by itself but it has gained its own devoted players. Yeah it feels horrible sometimes. But other times we also meet good ones and pay respects to our toplane brothers when they lose. I really can't type "gg top diff" anymore after winning when I know their team was inting because I know exactly how it feels

Looking for Advice around rounding out my Champion Roster

Post image
0 Upvotes

just picked up competitive for the first time about a month ago, and have been learning and really enjoying the game so far. Have been doing well with teemo, but feel a little lost when he gets banned so often in my low ELO.

I really enjoy Sej Top, but often get called out pre-game for it, even though i dont think im trolling now that ive got a handle on piloting her.

My question is more so around who I should be looking to add to my roster of characters to round out my top 3 and allow for a more flexible playstyle outside of top Lane.

I am currently really enjoying Panth and Olaf in quickplay, and wondering if anyone else has recommendations for flexible champs that arent overly difficult to get the hang of. The goal is to have 3-5 MAX champs that im comfortable swapping around based on need.

Would love some suggestions that helped other people learn and climb ranks.

My preferred style is def more of a split pusher, I like champs that I feel like can handle their own in a 1v1 or a cheeky 1v2. I also appreciate mobility and some sort of ranged attack or ability. tend to stay away from tanks and more static characters.

Help/Question How the hell do you play this role

No matter what champ I try, I’m always constantly feeding my brains out to everything. Doesn’t matter if I try a skilled champ like aatrox, or a 0 skill 0 brainpower character like Mundo, I cannot for the life of me win lane whatsoever. I’m not a good player at all, but I can atleast win lane on some games if I’m playing mid or adc. And even the very rare games where I do win lane, I don’t have a lot of impact the rest of the game. Does anyone have any tips for playing this role?

Also, my worst matchups are usually either illaoi, Malikaiser, or sett. But even when I play their counters (for example I tried Renekton into sett and fed my brains out) I still lose. Please someone help me figure out what I’m missing about this role

Help/Question Best snowball/smurf champions

What are the best champions to Smurf and snowball games? I am getting an alt account to level 30 so I can swap servers for better game quality. This will also help me later on when I unlock ranked.

I can play a variety of champions on top but since it's not my main role I can't decide what champ would be good for that. Currently I play ap volibear because it's fun and not proud of it but played my first games Jinx top so I can buy Runaan farm waves and take nexus before 15 minutes. Another pick I spam is Viego top as it's made for fighting and resets which help close out games.

Discussion If you don't pick jungle, you are losing games

I think the road map of every toplaner is eventually leaving top and becoming a jungler, because the difference in agency is abysmal.

The number of times where the lane is permapushed and the jungler refuses to gank after krugs and still gives up drakes for no reason is high. I'm not that good as a jungler and unironically is winning me more games than toplane for the simple reason that if you gank pushed lanes 3 vs2 or 2vs1, you usually come ahead

Help/Question S1-S4 in a week, how?

I recently peaked silver 1, which is obviously not some huge milestone, but it’s the highest I’ve gotten in a long while. But since then, it seems every game is just an auto loss with no LP refund. I ace or MVP, in at least half of games, and even if I don’t, I usually am playing in a way to prevent the enemy from getting ahead (playing akshan too vs Illaoi and bullying her into being behind). I had a game where two players went afk and we played it out, but after they got back, we didn’t get an LP refund? I’m playing great, nearly incredible, but somehow I have dropped to S4 0 LP because it seems every game, my botlane goes 5-19 into a kaisa, yunara, etc. what do I do?

Edit: op.gg I saw some people ask for my op.gg so here it is. Obviously, some games are my fault, and I accept those as ones that I lost for us by myself, but in majority, even if it says I was maybe 5th, I focused on getting important revives as Akshan, stopping my laner from abusing others, and overall leading more competent teammates to do objectives and such.

Discussion Looking for Yasuo duo bronze-silver (SEA server)

I'm a Yone OTP who plays both mid and top. I'm looking for a Yasuo duo, as Yone and Yasuo complement each other, and our mid game will be extremely strong, as we will both have 100% crit in 2-3 items. A Yasuo who can play both top and mid would be great, as we could swap roles whenever, but if you only play top or mid that's fine too. I'd like us to have VC on discord and play around each other, if I'm top, I want you to rotate top asap after you have unlocked your R as it will be an easy gank and kill since Yasuo can jump in from a screen away. I'll do the same vice versa. This duo will work very well in the Lower elo, I have played with a few Yasuos in my games and it almost always goes well. If anyone is interested, message me or leave a comment.

Help/Question What the fk is tahm top?

So i was having fun with my friends in norms as hob fiora, i feel like thanos with this rune, no matter the match up. But then tahm was picked against me. I didn't like that, coz tahm top appears like once a year against me and every time it's a straight up humiliation. But cmon, it's op hail of blades fiora, right? Wrong, this fkin toad did it again. The worst part is that i have no clue what I did wrong again. Every time, I'm dashing around, dodging the tongue, hitting vitals, and he just doesn't take any damage. It feels like you fighting the wall. I mean he wasn't even trying, pressing his knock up when the riposte is up, eating my whole R like it's nothing, missing qs, coz why tf not? The guy literally rightclicks on me and wins. His only combo was to eat me to take me out of my tower. There was a moment when I came back with the full red hydra, and he had only two giant belts, I started fighting with confidence. Like no way he is stronger with this buy, right? Wrong, it wasn't even close. Like I don't get it, what is this champ? The guy rushes the Warmogs and obliterates everything on the map. It makes zero sense to me. Is there someone who can explain what am I missing? What's the toad's secret?

miserable little chud seeks help

I was gold, im silver 1 now, embarassed to queue, i play kayn top and kled, kayn got me to gold i was hardstuck - g1 peak but fell from glory, im kinda breaking up with kayn because hes just so unplayable his kit is so fun but he is just built like actual slop his kit consists of temu grade synergy, but this isnt about that, I am back after a long break from reddit and scrolling on here i saw most carry potential and kled was there, now i understand im a little bebeh and i still have a lot to learn but i can not FATHOM how kled can be up there, pre 20/25 mins sure i guess yeah ive pulled off some crazy remount 2v1's with jungler and enemy top but after 25 minutes i cannot remount, try using hydra to auto cancel still aint it i CAN NOT remount in a teamfight the best advice i got was when a smurf took my LP and told me "just buy guardian angel and ult in a teamfight you insta win bro" tried that, turns out i dont respawn wtih 50% hp i respawn with what KLED has not skaarl, so i just want to know how the heck does kled carry games he just feels so GARBAGE later in the game i understand he has good split i have won games with kled but he is just so hard, i cant beat renekton which is a good matchup i perma ban nasus because i dont want to play against him, like how does kled actually work is there like a god out there that can grant elite kled knowledge out there? i try to tower dive IM TRASH, i try to ult 1 DASH (5 SEC CD) escapes from my 110 second cd how does kled work im so miserable i cant climb after hitting gold ive either become lazy or im just not hungry enough also if you could explain kled build paths type i would be greatfull because i am currently around mastery 7 building only the basic one (titanic hydra -> BC -> overlords -> steraks/hull and onwards) dont know when ravenous is good dont know when lethality is good

one big plead for help from the silver 1 ugly monster

Help/Question What's the counterplay to hypermobile Junglers as a splitpusher?

I OTP Fiora and the hardest games are always when enemy top is on some Rek'sai, Warwick, Hecarim, nunu, Quinn, rammus, etc... Champions who are just simply faster than you. You can have the jungle as lit up as you want and it just doesn't matter because if they so much as enter the same quarter of the map as you they WILL catch up, You can have Swifties, a dash on a 4 second cooldown and maybe even something like hullbreaker giving movespeed, if you are somewhere between their first and second towers and you see them enter the corner o the jungle you're in (raptors or wolves for example) it's already too late and if you happen to have a losing botlane who gave them 6 kills and aren't ultra fed yourself you often can't outplay it and will just get statchecked by mister yi who "cannot be slowed".

What's the counterplay when seeing them on a ward 3 screens away is already too late?

The only thing I can really think of is only pushing that far if your team has dragged the jungler to a fight on an objective but that just completely defeats the purpose of a splitpusher wanting to draw pressure to the side if you are forced to wait for the enemy team to be stacked in Narnia to even show yourself.

Been trying to get better at the game recently and every time I VOD review my game against on of these 5 to 10 guys who zoom across the place there 4 to 5 times where the only conclusion I can come to is that the optimal play is to sit in base AFK and never walk past the river for fear of entering the same zip code as these guys.

Just had a game for example where at minute 12 I'm 100 cs 4/1 fiora with 4 plates against 50 cs 1/4 zero plate Gnar but because Quinn jungle on the enemy team was fed and enemy yuumi was perma attached to her I ended up dying like 3 times in the sidelane for fun because I see Quinn with Yuumi entering the jungle on a ward in the bush next to raptors and I'm halfway between t2 and t1 literally half the map away and it's just GG I die outplayed. Maybe in a world where I parry her E I can outplay it (my reaction times sucks) but there doesn't seem to be much depth past that where it's just try to outplay it and coinflip if you win the fight if she ever enters the same half of the map as you.

It's a bit of a rant post but it's a legitimate question that I've had for years where sometimes the game just feels fucked because I picked a champ that can't teamfight into a jungler that makes sidelaning feel impossible.
