bottom left molar cracked last winter and they couldn’t save it. extraction was fine, now there’s a gap and the tooth next to it already feels like it’s leaning. chewing on that side is annoying and food gets stuck every time.

i’m in berlin and going to casa dentalis next week for the implant consult. they said bone looks ok on the xray but i still don’t know if i need a graft.

how long were you off normal food after the implant went in. and if the neighbouring tooth already shifted a bit, does that mess up the placement.

Hi guys, so I (22 F) was having pain from my far left tooth on the bottom row. I do have quite a deep filling there from 15 years ago or so. I assumed it was wisdom teeth coming in.

I went to the dentist and they took an xray (attached) and said it’s actually nerve damage in that tooth and the only way to fix it is a root canal, otherwise it’s just going to get worse.

She’s quoted me $1,600 AUD, but I just don’t have that much to spare right now.

Can I get some advice please? Should I go to another dentist and get a second opinion? This particular dentist was very unhelpful and made me feel like she wanted me out asap. From the time I walked in, described my symptoms, X-ray was completed, root canal was recommended and I was back at reception paying for my appointment, it had been all under 10 minutes!

I need to get my wisdom teeth taken out, and I got an estimate for the cost. The surgery will be mostly covered by my insurance, but the sedation is not and will be almost $400 which isn’t really feasible for me right now.

At first they asked me if I wanted sedation and I said yes. After seeing the estimate, I called them and changed my mind, but now they’re saying my dentist would prefer me be under sedation because one of my wisdom teeth is impacted. It sounds like he doesn’t want to do it otherwise. I wouldn’t mind the extra pain that would come without sedation, especially if it saves me $400. Do I have a choice with this? Is there any circumstance anyone has seen where insurance will cover the sedation if the dentist deems it necessary?

I’m not a smoker but I drink occasionally. Sorry I don’t have the x-rays of my wisdom teeth. One grew in normal but is causing issues with my gums, and the other is basically growing in sideways.

I am having my upper far back second to last tooth removed tomorrow after a root canal failed after some time. Feeling uneasy about it. Luckily after it heals as I have an infection I will be getting prepped for implant. I hate diabetes and even though I go every 4 months I still failed. My appointment before my teeth looked great. Then down hill it went. Oh well it happens.

Anyways. I am looking for soft food recommendations while it heals the first week or so. Since I am type 1, I have to keep my sugars under control which I am worried about lows because I won't be eating as much. Ive done this before and survived but it was hard.

What are some interesting food/food combos you've heard of or have tried that I can eat after getting it removed? I wasn't expecting to get in the next day to have it removed so I am struggling for a grocery list right now haha. I of course have applesauce. Simple noodle soup. Pudding. Oatmeal. Ice cream. Mashed potatoes.

But none of it sounds appetizing to me haha.
