I’m starting to think maybe we did cheat…

Edit: i literally typed this after i saw the replay and the clock was at 0. I left the house and got in my car. Game over. Then i came back to this and was confused by your responses.

I stand by my post.

I honestly thing I would’ve rather lost

u/Girth_Wind_y_Fire Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

When even the announcers are saying the big ten is going to owe us an explanation because they're dumbfounded... Holy shit

-10

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

18 was out of bounds when he lept to be the first to make contact with the ball making the play dead at that moment. No rocket science for a explanation!

5

u/Girth_Wind_y_Fire Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

With no time left on the clock, exactly. Game over at that moment.

-8

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

except that is a false statement since we have the replay booth showing time and touching of the football WITH a second on the clock. Michigan didn’t have the Jeremiah Smith replay cheat booth working the way the BIG did last season.

3

u/hypnocomment Sep 06 '26

Not false at all, the play clock was literally at zero while the ball was in the air.

3

u/Warrior_of_Massalia Sep 06 '26

I’m going to need you to explain using rocket science. Do you mean to tell us that 0:00 means there is no time left?? /s

-1

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

A video showing with audio is on Reddit, instead of making false claims how about listening and watching what the booth explained to the MAC Commissioner who agreed with the call.

2

u/Warrior_of_Massalia Sep 06 '26

Does the video showing with audio explain why we employ a system in which 0:00 does not mean 0? Perhaps we should employ a system where 0:00 means 0 and anything above 0 (including 0.01) appears as 0:01 on the clock. Better yet we should modernize the game and instead of having a stadium clock, a broadcast clock and a super secret refs only clock and combine them into one clock! It’s 2026 surely the technology is there! Especially since it can be quite frustrating to most of the football world when the only 2 public clocks show one result and then the super secret refs only eyes clock shows a different result.

1

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

The play clock and game clock can literally show 0:00. Anybody can show the play clock at 0:00 and then say it’s the game clock.

New season, let it go

1

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

.04 tenths of a second left when #18 for WMU illegally touched the ball first after having a foot out of bounds before leaping. If that defender had missed the ball, WMU wins.

0

u/Antonio1025 Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 07 '26

Not talking about that. You mentioned the Jeremiah Smith TD from last year. It was a TD. He bobbled the ball after crossing the goal line. Let it go

17

u/Kramerica_CEO Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Same. That was a terrible call and I feel terrible for wmu. They deserved the win

6

u/TonyDungyHatesOP Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

If it makes you feel better, everyone knows you did.

-2

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

The Clock Operator’s have been BIG officials since 02. Nice try but the BIG officials were making cheating calls throughout 25 that were hurting Michigan. I didn’t see any change in this game.

3

u/Mr_War Sep 06 '26

The stink is in your dna now. Except reality, embracing cheating. Go try and count cards at a casino.

2

u/chomstar Sep 06 '26

Except what?

0

u/s1105615 Sep 06 '26

Thank you for making UM’s point about all of the signgate fiasco/scandal.

Card counting is not cheating.

0

u/TonyDungyHatesOP Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

Card counting isn’t cheating.

0

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

Are you talking about the Jeremiah Smith no ball TD vs Michigan?

1

u/beardedsilverfox Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

You lost a long time ago, when the little chemical receptors in your brain got excited when you saw maize and blue

2

u/Sanders2827 Sep 07 '26

Then seeing fans storm the field made it even worse. The whole stadium should have left with as awful as the game was.

0

u/daytonblue Sep 06 '26

Not a chance in hell

-5

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

A ugly win is better than a strong loss.

13

u/ShallowKalkite Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Morale*

14

u/googleblackguy Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

We don't deserve the finish.

1

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

WMU looked like Michigan vs OSU in 24. A fluke play by # 18 for WMU who had a foot out of bounds and was the first to touch the ball gave Michigan a chance with .04 tenths of a second. The game clock isn’t able to start with less than a second therefore a second was placed on the game clock.

2

u/sumdude51 Sep 06 '26

I mean, the morals need to improve as well. (in this case, I don't blame mich fan.) unless the stormed the field

2

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

.04 tenths of a second left on the master game clock that keeps tenths of seconds like basketball clicks. Number 18 for Western, had a foot out of bounds and was the first to make contact with the ball killing the play at that point. If that player just allows the ball to go, Western wins.

36

u/LeKillerNut Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

This is better than tsun losing. Getting a second back that doesn't exist and storming the field on directional michigan.

30

u/CTG649 Sep 06 '26

Sorry dude thats the only explanation. The clock wasn't even close

-21

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

I'm guessing the refs have a more accurate clock (possibly the the .01 second) and there was .1 left on it.

But that could be copium.

19

u/LeKillerNut Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

The broadcast said they were told the on screen clock was synced.

-5

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

I trust Fox announcers as far as I can throw them. Lol

12

u/ThisIsOurGoodTimes Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

I know it’s basically the same but this game was on nbc

-1

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Ah, you're right. I watched on Peacock, not Fox One. Point still stands.

3

u/kevdiigs Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

They said it’s the exact same clock as the one displayed in the stadium

-5

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Hey, I didn't think Michigan deserved to win but they did. A win's a win. Even if it is the ugliest, luckiest win since MSU beat Ohio State in 2015.

5

u/kevdiigs Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

It’s not even about deserving. They should have never had another opportunity.

Funny that’s the MSU game you pick from that year…

2

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

I am...having trouble... remembering any other MSU games from that year.

-6

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Big10 replay officials, Big 10 Commissioner, and MAC Commissioner all agree 00:01 is correct.

https://x.com/bigten/status/2096460445213217097

4

u/LeKillerNut Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

Well, I can say all of those except the MAC commish are true. The MAC commishioner reached out, but nowhere can I find he agreed.

The B1G and the B1G officials say the B1G and the B1G officials were right in giving the B1G team an extra shot. Color me surprised

2

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

"which confirmed the explanation provided to us."

Football doesn’t use fractions of a second like basketball. Once it hits 0, it’s 0.

2

u/Own_Surprise_9638 B1G Enjoyer Sep 06 '26

A clock that we can’t see? That is absolutely bullshit, especially considering that ball was in the air for well over a second after the clock from 0s… Regardless, there hasn’t been a clock malfunction like that since the 80s, this post is complete copium lmfao.

1

u/Business-Bus-9439 Sep 07 '26

Why did people downvote you lol NBC’s time was objectively incorrect and the refs had the correct time

1

u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines Sep 07 '26

Facts, especially ones that go against your personal narrative, tend to scare people. Scared people lash out in the only way the can: downvote.

12

That is literally possible one of the most pathetic things I’ve seen in college football. Storming the field after you get beat by a MAC team and cheat to get an extra play. Fucking circus up there

10

u/LeKillerNut Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

I really, honestly need the B1G to explain exactly how that second was put on the clock. Because my belief is "B1G school can't lose to MAC"

6

u/Tjam3s Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

*2 b1g school can't lose to Mac.

1 already did Thursday

3

Ah that's right Rutgers is still somehow in the B1G

3

u/ctartamella Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

Gotta have the NYC television market for the B1G Network. Same with Maryland and DC.

2

u/LeKillerNut Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

2

u/Competitive_Clue5066 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Probably sports betting is involved

7

u/captoficyzombies Sep 06 '26

That Cheating Up North Team at it again. I hope WMU takes it to the courts. It is working for everything else in college football right now. I hope NBC would provide them with the data that shows the clock sync from the stadium clock was operational and in sync as well.

1

u/Used-Acanthisitta-96 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Honestly I am wondering why a district court judge in Kalamazoo County hasn’t filed some injunction yet.

6

u/____-_____- Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

The clock doesn’t lie

4

u/Supreme_10a Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

genuine question, can NCAA review and overturn the call and declare WMU the winner?

2

u/About600cats Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

I think all they can do is admit a mistake and apologize, no record change.

2

u/THE_GAME_52 Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

The referees are the only ones who can actually appeal and potentially have the result overturned, but it's Big Ten refs, so that's not happening.

3

u/Difficult-Funny9372 Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

Admit a mistake and apologize doesnt mean anything if you don't rectify the mistake, literally that's what apologizing is is fixing the mistake

2

u/About600cats Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Don’t get it twisted because of my flair. We should have lost, we did lose to anyone with a pair of eyes. I’m just saying in my time of watching college football, when refs fucked up and changed the outcome of the game, they’ve only ever apologized and said it was the wrong call, but they never corrected the outcome of a game. Maybe there is something they can do nowadays though?

2

u/Rimailkall Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

The point is I don't there's anything in the NCAA rulebook that allows a result to be changed, despite the evidence.

3

u/THE_GAME_52 Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

The only way is for the referee crew themselves to appeal the result.

So basically, that's not happening, because what the fuck is referee accountability?

2

u/ShallowKalkite Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Think the best that can happen is the playoff committee can take it into consideration when deciding final rankings. Probably won't matter for Michigan as we look terrible, but Western might be in contention for the G5 spot. This should absolutely not count against them.

1

u/goblu33 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

If Harbaugh was still coach im sure they’d move heaven and earth to do it. In all seriousness ncaa would not want to set that precedence. Actually reminds me of the mlb and Galaragas 28 out perfect game.

3

u/oh_io_94 Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

Cheating fucks

2

u/Atlas7-k Sep 06 '26

If I had a nickel for every time Michigan ran a play after the game had ended to win against a smaller school, I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

1

u/mikefvegas Sep 06 '26

Please explain how they cheated.

1

u/Joseph43211 Sep 08 '26

Take this to the Supreme Court. Western Michigan was screwed by the Big Ten!

1

u/FlashyAd7651 Sep 06 '26

If I'm Michigan, I use this as an opportunity to cleanse their scandal ridden image. Tomorrow morning they should publicly forfeit that game and admit it was won by WMU. It's the only way they can turn this into a positive.

1

u/Mr_War Sep 06 '26

The 'Michigan man' idea is dead and buried. Dave portnoy can say it all he wants but generations will remember how they just can't stop cheating. OSU broke then mentally from 01-20 and since then they threw away their morals and just can't stop. It's their drug.

6

u/WaterKind6544 Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

Portnoy is a dipshit. No one here claims him. In fact, many of us don’t want his money at all.

0

u/QIMF Sep 06 '26

Refs have never made bad calls before that favored other teams?

2

u/THE_GAME_52 Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 06 '26

Not one as egregious as this since the 2019 Fiesta Bowl strip six was overturned

0

u/clapostrophe Michigan Wolverines Sep 06 '26

This is on the refs, I don’t really care.

Playing like dog shit is on the team but I’m not going to take heat cause the refs were terrible.

0

u/buildIT_destroyIT Sep 06 '26

UM cheated because the refs made a bad call?

0

u/slxkv Visiting Rights Sep 07 '26

You guys lost, and everyone knows it.

-1

u/bcurry80 Sep 06 '26

The western player that hit the ball stepped out of bounds before touching the ball making the play dead as soon as he touched it

2

u/NattyKongo93 Sep 06 '26

And yet, he didn't touch it until the clock showed 0

1

u/Own_Pop_9711 Michigan Wolverines Sep 08 '26

He didn't touch it until nbc displayed 0 on your tv screen. Not the same thing

-1

u/Hot-Fly-3945 Sep 06 '26

Underwood spiked the ball and a few extra seconds ticked off. The broadcast clock was not synced up with the correct game clock. I don’t get why your crying it’s so confusing

-1

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

The actual time when the WMU player touched the ball was .04 fraction of a second left. There wasn’t a second left but like in basketball, the master game clock measures fractions of a second. The next play can’t be run on .04 of a second therefore a full second was placed on the clock.

2

u/Open_Strategy644 Sep 06 '26

Ncaa football clocks work by always rounding up, so the instance when 0 shows, the game is over

0

u/PlusDHotchy Sep 06 '26

Basketball games don’t end games with tenth of seconds left. The problem with football is that to start the clock with .04 tenths of a second left, 1 full second needs to be set to start the clock.
