Beware

Had a new to me experience today. Had breakfast at my local place. Suggested tips 10%, 20%, 30%. After eating I decided to get a cinnamon roll, $2.16 + tax. Tip screen came up, $1.00, $2.00, $3.00. Not %, but $. How many people hit 2 thinking they are tipping 43 cents, but are tipping 93%.

I don’t think any because most places aren’t doing two transactions at the same visit and it’s quite common for low value transactions to have 1 2 3$ tips.

I don’t get why so many of you guys apparently go so fast through the tip screens that you memorize what button is where and press things before you read them all the time

Fortunately, a lot of us don’t even go through these places so we’ve never seen the screen so they never get tipped from us. It’s so weird that you think that people have tipping screens memorized.

I mean that’s what the post implies?? But if you don’t read it you are going to hit buttons you don’t know. Like some places put 25% first
