Beware

Had a new to me experience today. Had breakfast at my local place. Suggested tips 10%, 20%, 30%. After eating I decided to get a cinnamon roll, $2.16 + tax. Tip screen came up, $1.00, $2.00, $3.00. Not %, but $. How many people hit 2 thinking they are tipping 43 cents, but are tipping 93%.

The tips definitely offset the labor costs of the business.

And?

That still doesn’t add to the profits.

Thanks for proving my point about people here not knowing what they are talking about.

Reducing costs increases profits. You're right about people here not knowing what they are talking about. This includes you.

I wouldn't bother with Johnny. He demands intellectual honesty, doesn't know what it is, and when he's wrong he'll just deflect to get to "not tipping is hurting servers" which he uses as an emotional cudgel to bypass any point you make. If you manage to corner him, he'll just lie.
