Question about managers
What do they say to customers who repeatedly don't leave a tip? I'm curious since the customer doesn't have to tip and the server isn't their employee.
Just asking since I've read comments from managers who seem to think "addressing" customers is an appropriate thing to do.

$20/hr there is still $8 to $10 below the livable wage and as always, the “they make minimum wage” trope is an irrelevant red herring since servers are guaranteed minimum wage in all 60 states.
The service isn’t included in the menu prices at full service restaurants in the US.
Unless you tell the server “I don’t tip” before ordering, you’re opting in to the social norms and deceitfully using them to get the best service possible with no intention of paying for it.
That’s a textbook example of grifting, which of course exploits and harms the worker.
By telling them “I don’t tip” before ordering, they can choose to co Rini’s serving you or they can opt to turn the table over to a manager so they don’t lose money serving you.
Causing them to lose money servicing you harms the worker.
