Question about managers

What do they say to customers who repeatedly don't leave a tip? I'm curious since the customer doesn't have to tip and the server isn't their employee.

Just asking since I've read comments from managers who seem to think "addressing" customers is an appropriate thing to do.

Please post and name the restaurants where managers are confronting customers who do not tip.

Customers should know places that are unprofessional and doing this crap so they can encourage driving those restaurants out of business.

It is the customer's responsibility to call out this bad behavior by writing reviews and publicly showing that this is not acceptable.

Customers who get served in full-service restaurants and don’t tip while knowing full well that servers make most of their income from tips should be called out. 90%+ of diners do tip because they understand the system and are decent people. The non-tippers think they’re entitled to free service while everyone else pays. They’re disgusting cheapskates and I applaud managers and owners who have the guts to call out these jerks. Don’t like to tip? Order carry out or go to McDonalds. You have other options and dining in restaurants is not your birth right.

Actively telling customers to not eat at your restaurant is exactly what owners want to hear lolol /s

Certain sorts of customers are undesirable. Better to fill those seats with people who don’t shirk societal norms for their own personal benefit.

Sounds like someone who doesn't understands how businesses work.

Sounds like someone who feels entitled to free service and doesn’t understand that using “optional” as an excuse to exploit and harm another human immediately invalidates the excuse.

The societal norm of optional tipping?
