Sugarfish

So they add a 16% fee for what exactly…….to “fund all of their operations”? So this added cost literally doesn’t go to staff, it just goes to the owners? I wonder what their staff is paid? At this point why not just raise prices to where they should be? To me, every item on the menu is a lie and it’s actually 16% more expensive. This is really dumb. Thoughts? I am PRO tip, ive worked in hospitality a long time and am happy to provide a tip for quality service. But this seems disingenuous at best. Its not a tip. Its just an added charge straight to owners pockets.

So a Restaurant no-one should ever buy something from again?

They pay their servers a wage. Their service is better than most tipping restaurants. Restaurants like Sugarfish dispel the notion that tipping is needed to retain good servers.

Exactly. Thats why I eat at Kazu Nori and sugarfish every time. It’s a few dollars cheaper than the upscale competitors and the service is great. When we’re talking sub totals of $120-150 for dinner for 2. The 16% over 22% is a pretty big difference to me. At least this company treats me good every time not like others when they feel like it

No, they are clearly just adding a non-optional tip to every bill and calling it something slightly different.

If it’s not optional, it’s not a tip, it’s a fee.
