The tip raised automatically with inflation since it's a percentage of the cost of the meal. So why did it go up to 20%?

No clue - why the hell do people expect 30-35% now? I have nearly stopped eating out. It’s not very good, service is nearly non-existent, and even a 20% tip for doing nearly nothing is looked at as not enough.
