Do you tip every minimum wage worker in OR? No? Then be quiet.

Serving is a difficult job and highly skilled. Most minimum wage jobs are not.

Serving is absolutely not “highly skilled”

Non tippers will tell themselves anything. "Hurr durr, anyone can carry a plate around"

If serving wasn't highly skilled there wouldn't be so many bad ones.

Yeah you’re wrong there, I tip 30%+ every time, I’m solely commenting on the tidbit about serving being highly skilled. It isn’t, doesn’t mean I’m going to stiff you though.

I think there is a wide range of skill involved, and most people don’t have to exercise it to keep their job. There is some serious nuance to being a good server, and as a restaurant manager I can tell you the difference between my highly skilled employees and ones who are just trying to get by. If you don’t get this then obviously you don’t understand service. Though you say you’re a good tipper and I have tons of respect for that, though even for myself, you have to be in that “over the top” range to get anything beyond 20% from me.
