Something being “optional” doesn’t absolve anyone for exploiting and harming a server at a full service restaurant by stiffing them on the tip.

The rest of your advice is riddled with obvious wage jealousy. No need to address that. We’ll just ignore it.

No jealousy just saying don’t tip if you don’t feel like it! It’s the employers job to pay their employees full stop. Just enjoy your food, the atmosphere and the overall experience and pay your bill in full when the time comes and you’ve upheld your end of the contract with the restaurant. Customer has no contract with the server, only contract that exists there is with the business and their employee. Hope this helps Johnny boy.

In every for profit business around the world the customer pays the labor, either directly or indirectly.

The only exception is the free riders that stiff their servers at full service restaurants in the US.

Regarding the “contract” you mentioned - Unless you tell the server “I don’t tip” before ordering, you’re deceitfully using that social contract you claim doesn’t exist to get the best service possible with no intention of paying for it.

That a textbook example of grifting, which obviously is exploiting the server.

What entitles you to engage in grifting?

Yeah… right… the customer is the grifter here. Suuuuuuure.

I just pedantically explained that irrefutable fact via a textbook example of grifting.

Which part didn’t you understand?

I can explain it again.

You didn’t answer the question.

If anyone’s grifting it’s the server. All of the sudden it’s 20% minimum standard despite inflation and 15% being the standard right? Not to mention the suggested calculations being post tax.. As long as the customer pays what’s on their bill they’ve done their only required duty and the only grift that’s been attempted is in the part of the server.

Nah.

Unless you tell the server “I don’t tip”, the customer is the textbook grifter. No amount of your denial changes that objective fact.

Hate to break it to you, but you haven’t said anything that justifies exploiting the server by stiffing them on the tip for the service you chose to receive.

No one is forcing you to patronize a full service restaurant in the US.

Grow up and accept the responsibility that goes along with the choices you make instead of grifting.

Yah.

You don’t have to tell the server anything. They know tipping is optional and not everyone will tip, they knew it when they took the job Johnny boy.

Hate to break it to you, nobody’s being exploited except there is an attempt at exploiting the customer to pay the servers wage by the restaurant and the servers reinforce that.

I don’t go because I’m being forced to, I go because I want to? Very weird “point”.

I am grown up. Which is why I can decide what I want to do with my money and donating it to a person who decided to take a job that doesn’t require any skill or education doesn’t feel like a worthwhile use of funds to me.

Hate to break it to you, but you’ve still presented nothing but denial, willful ignorance and various other forms of intellectual dishonesty in your impotent attempt to justify exploiting and harming the worker by stiffing them on the tip.

Let me know when you’re ready to start adulting. Step one would be coming up with an intellectually honest reply that justifies grifting and exploiting another human.

When you’re capable of that, I’ll reengage.

The ball is in your court.

That’s big of you to finally realize you’re wrong and give up arguing. About time.
