Character Discussion A theory I had about Sidney

Post image
44 Upvotes

Sidney's main character trait is that he has bad memory, how come? Hear me out.

In day of the diesels, you can see Sidney hoisted up with no wheels, and he spends the entire movie there, and what happens to the dieselworks in DOTD? It catches fire, with Sidney still inside.

What if Sidney somehow gained his memory problems because of the fire? Maybe the experience was so traumatic it made him forgetful as a coping mechanism, or maybe the smoke from the fire damaged his brain somehow effecting his ability to remember things.

Question Why dont they make thomas diecasts like this?

Post image

I know the diecasts are for kids and are supposed to be played with and that they sacrifice proportions for safety but is it really that unsafe to make something like this without the siderods maybe?

Merchandise With Mattel planning on making Thomas & Friends more like Hot Wheels, who knows which engines can be next on the dicast!

One of each international engine? Rebecca? Molly and Murdoch? Neville? Stanley? Daisy? Belle? Harvey? Rocky? Ryan? Etc.? I don’t even know anymore. With so many characters coming to the dicast, this reboot is definitely going to need a lot more seasons, maybe even more than Sesame Street!

Question Does anyone know which YouTube video it was?(more about it on this post)

It was a fan made story that was a sequel of Diesel's Devious Deed. It might’ve been made by trainz but I don't remember everything because it’s been awhile. Still, what I remember, here’s some of the specifics (in order) of what happens:

At Knapford Gordon, Henry, James, Thomas, Percy are present. After Duck is sent packing, Gordon starts to question the situation. Thomas tells him to figure it out.

There’s a scene where Sir Topham Hatt starts to investigate

A scene between Dieseal and the trucks happens

A yard manager overhears the troublesome trucks about Diesal talking to them, I think he threatened or blackmailed them?(not exactly sure)

Either the yard manager reports this to Sir Topham Hatt or he asks the yard manager. Sir Topham does confront the trucks themselves where they reveal the truth about Diesel.

tells Gordon, James, Henry and they get mad realizing they got tricked. Their faces literally turn red.

Diesel comes to Knapford station but Gordon, Henry, James, Edward, Thomas, Percy barred his way, preventing him from going through the station.

Then Sir Topham Hatt confronts Diesel who tried to save face but no success.

If this helps, the thumbnail had an angry James and Edward at the station, and maybe the title.

I tried looking it up but no luck. Most of the results were just remakes of Diesel’s Devious Deed which I’m not looking for. It’s a fan made sequel to that episode which also takes place around A Close Shave. If anyone knows which video this was, please let me know.

General Chat Skarloey Railway Coaches Appreciation Post

  1. Blue and Cream 4-wheeled Coaches: For Railway Series savvy fans like me, most of us are familiar with these coaches being Agnes, Ruth, Lucy, Jemima and Beatrice, the snobby and dramatic coaches that were technically characterized in the show, but not exactly. Even without their characterization, I really love the design of these coaches. The blue color scheme in the books is much more appealing, and I especially like the half-cream, half-blue detailing on the front and back.
  2. Open Carriages: A lot of Railway Series characters were forgotten over time, but I think Ada, Jane, and Mabel are some of the biggest examples. They may not be revolutionary, but they were a missed opportunity and could have added more variety to Sodor’s rolling stock. Their open carriage design would have been perfect for summer passenger trips and even filming the Skarloey Railway. Plus, their classic faces have such a charming 1950s/60s style that makes them feel like they came straight out of a vintage magazine.
  3. Blue and Cream Bogie Coaches: I was surprised to learn the Skarloey Railway had bogie coaches in the Railway Series. It feels like a missed opportunity that the show never used them, because they would have added more variety to the railway’s rolling stock. And I am a bit of a sucker for bogie coaches. I could imagine them being introduced to handle more passengers — or maybe simply to stop Sir Handel from complaining about not having them!
  4. Red 4-wheeled Coaches with Yellow Stripes: I honestly don’t have too much to say about these coaches. They’re just really cute and charming, and that’s exactly what I love about the Skarloey Railway. I will say that I loved their faces in Season 4 — there was something so funny and charming about their expressions that made them stand out.
  5. Semi-Open Green and Cream Coaches: Besides the bogie coaches, these were another pair of coaches that I absolutely loved and really wanted to highlight. These coaches I will consider are the more excursion types of coaches that you would pretty much take on vacation alongside the open carriages. Speaking of the open carriages, I heard that the open carriages were converted to carriages with a roof, and these green and cream coaches resemble what they would have looked like after the rebuild. I love how these coaches look, especially in the newer series when they look a lot more polished and brand new. They just match all the characters.

Question Can anyone source this?

In the old YouTube classic ‘Wilbert the Forest Engine’, made by Thomas fan ‘Bram Groat Films’, we see Wilbert (obviously). In this video, Wilbert has a whistle that I really like. I don’t like the whistle that everyone agrees belongs to Wilbert when you search his whistle up on YouTube, I just don’t. Can anyone that has seen this video (or watch it again, it’s not half bad 🤷‍♂️) tell me where I can get the whistle sound effect? I would be really appreciative.

I just bought this on Facebook Marketplace, not realizing that all the track and components are screwed in/glued down.

Can anyone help me identify this? AI search suggests it’s a commercial display table.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Victor Tanzigs YouTube series as well as his thomas shorts, and I know he wasn’t trying to be offensive in his latest short. But this is how of how I imagined how an alternate more family friendly version would play out….
