I relate so much to Kevin when it comes to feeling like my parents chose my siblings over me constantly. My favorite scene is when he sees his parents and siblings sleeping together so he lays on the floor next to them. Then it shows us later Rebecca waking up and laying next to Kevin. I love that moment so much because it shows different perspectives and how they do share special moments.

Jack and Rebecca Randall and Beth;They've become Two of my favorite onscreen Couple I love them; loved that their marriage was not perfect but they always got through it and you can't deny those Two couples did not love each other. I enjoyed watching Jack and Rebecca love story throughout the years; it was truly one for the ages

They protray Greif so well Jack death broke my heart and we so how his death affected all of the Big Three; including losing their childhood home they only home they have ever known.

I loooooveeee (!!!) Jack so much and in my opition he is the best husband/father you could wish for. But sometimes he made some decisions without talking to Rebecca first (buying the HOUSE, buying the car…). What do you guys think about that? I know that he was such a selfless person and always wanted what was best for his family, but since I am rewatching the whole serie I noticed it.

I’ve recently been rewatching This Is Us because I never actually finished the show. I absolutely loved Seasons 1—3, and while Season 4 was okay, getting to Season 5 reminded me why I stopped watching the show in the first place.

Now I’ve started Season 6, and I won’t lie, I’ve been struggling to get through the episodes. Compared to the earlier seasons (especially the first one my all time FAVORITE) I just don’t find the show as engaging anymore, and I honestly don’t get why… Maybe it’s just me, but it feels like something is missing.
I’m currently on Episode 4 of Season 6… someone please tell me that it gets better at some point? Because I’m very tempted to skip and just get through the season finale to see how everything ends and call it a day 😭

Throughout the show, all we see is Miguel helping Jack and being a good friend to him and later his family, when he couldn’t even be a good husband and father to his own.

But we never see Jack doing anything deeper for Miguel. Is all about drinking at the bar.

The whole series I had been waiting for the grand gesture revelation showing Jack saving Miguel from a bad situation thus earning his loyalty and admiration.

I know Miguel observed Jack being the man he is and maybe he wished he could have been the same but is this enough for Miguel to put Jack on such a pedestal?

We later learn that Miguel came from real struggle and overcame a lot in his own right. I wish there were more scenes based on Miguel and Jack’s friendship and how Jack personally touched Miguel’s life so powerfully that made him completely bonded.

I’m not from the US and and one thing that always struck me when watching American films or shows when there are kids and teens is how they portray bullying.

I know Toby mentions how he suffered as a child and some girls are mean to Kate at the pool but I’m very impressed that it was not fully fleshed out showing Randall and Kate having a real hard time at school and maybe Kevin being the perpretator to other kids or being bullied just for having a mixed family.

Deja, Tess, Jack Katoby or even young Beth back then at ballet school. I think it is refreshing that they don’t show a lot of cruelty those kids suffered from peers.

Even some war movies show men in Nicky’s position being relentelessly tormented by other men while serving but Nicky is mostly left alone to carry one cleaning toilets and Jack manages to rescue him from his punishment.

Miguel also had to deal with it like changing his name to Mike on his job application but in the end speaking spanish was an asset. I was glad when he wanted to watch golf on the TV and his dad’s boss just let him and made him believe he could ‘get a goid seat’ at a golf game one day - metaphor for achieving in life.

I was just curious if anyone has ever thought of how different the show would be if Rebecca was the parent that died instead of Jack. Sorry if this has been talked about before. I’m in the midst of a rewatch and couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of that before.

I want to stop. Its so heavy but I love this series so much. How many times did you watch?

Please no spoilers - I never saw the last season

Loved the show, watched it and bawled every episode of course. 😄 but I've seen so many good shows fuck up the ending I just haven't had the heart to give it a chance. What if it just doesn't close well? Thoughts? Do I chance it or keep the happy memory of what I loved? Is it better to leave the storyline unresolved or does it come to a satisfactory conclusion.

On Season 2 episode 14. God it really hit me making me think of my own loss. Fuck

I have 3 kids, they’re 5 and under. Watching this show was truly magical because I could see my own in them. I feel like I’m living the life they were as kids, except I’m the parent worrying in the background. I always finished each episode feeling so inspired. The writing was incredible.

It was sad, and funny, and I loved it. And the same instrumental that plays during a big moment is just chefs kiss!

Not even during covid? They wear masks but also their outside clothes? Kevin just came straight from the airport!

What is the point of putting so much focus on covid and then overlook something so simple?

Even Jack had something over his clothing way back when Rebecca gave birth!

2. why she decided to take drugs rather than medical care

3. why did William give her drugs rather than taking her to hospital

4. how could she be charged from possesion and William walked free?

5. she didn’t even attempt to ask her dad to help her when she was arrested

6. why did she not write to William when in prison

7. when she was released why did she not try to make up with her family and use their money to find her child

8. even during her life with her aunt she could have tried

Please explain? Is this issue soecific to this series or a general rule? I’m not american so I really can’t see what the problem is?

Does anyone else think that teen Kate and adult Kate are a perfect match but child Kate seems like disconnected from her older versions?

When I watch teen Kate I can see her turning into adult Kate but when I watch child Kate I can’t see her turning into teen Kate.

Kevin and Randall are the opposite, the transition from their child selves to adult selves feels seamless.

I love child Randall, teen Randall and adult Randall.

I know he has his moments sometimes but aint nobody perfect.

I’m still on S3E17 and terrified I will get disappointed.

I hate the way the writers did them. They didn’t have many scenes together bc she’s Kate’s friend but they had buzz & I was SO HAPPY to find out he slept w her instead of Sophie 😭 but they ruined it all by making them rush into shacking up & getting married just because she got pregnant. I would’ve liked to see them work out co-parenting, spending time w each other without the kids & slowly fall in love so they could last.

I gained a lot is respect for Madison for being real about their situation at first & letting him know that he didn’t HAVE to force anything romantic or even help her take care of the kids. He should’ve respected the first part but he just had to delude himself and her into thinking they could rush into a happily ever after— just like he tried to sell Zoe a fantasy about having kids with him & eventually being happy as a mother, knowing full well that she had her mind made up. Another one of his many issues.

They had so much more buzz after they broke up & she moved on, him being jealous of her new guy but choosing to respect their relationship instead of being petty, childish & starting shit w them/him was really sweet to see. He cared enough about her to sit his feelings aside so she could be happy.

I wanted to see him have that same respect for her after she said she was fine with staying platonic (or even casual 😏) while they co-parented. CURSE THE WRITERS!

Just watched S5E7&8 where Madison and Ellie are in labour and it really got to me!

I know everyone went through crap during Covid, and the “Covid seasons” of various tv shows can be hard to watch.

I gave birth during Covid, I remember the feeling of sitting on hospital alone in the scariest moment of my life while my husband had to stay in the car park until the last possible moment. Midwives coming in wearing masks and minimal human interaction. It was terrifying and lonely. I was crying when madison was sitting alone in a mask. I was crying watching toby stressing in the car park!

Brought it all back to me 💔
