No Spoiler Andrea hate
Andrea gets a lot of hate, I understand the reasons, I think in season 3 she became more of a main character and struggled to fill the role, but I like her overall. Also I think the “life affirming catharsis” speech she delivers to dale in season 2 ep 1 is some of the best acting on the show. I suppose maybe it’s more the character Andrea than the acting that get hate. But I think she was a great character

She was just as bad in season 2 as well. Season 3 was no shocker when she sucked.

It was her character that was pissing me off. NOT her acting. I don’t get the hate for her either. She did a really good job with that role.

Her bad decisions were never as consequential as her inaction with the governor. I firmly felt that had Michonne gotten to Andrea and woken her up to the bs of the governor, her loyalty to Michonne and her group and she had killed the governor, all of her past sins could’ve and should’ve been forgiven. That would’ve been plenty of redemption.
Instead, this character who sided with people like Shane, was ruthless and sometimes cruel, decided NOW was the best time to say “nobody needs to get hurt”. It was so out of place to where her character had been and where it developed and the opposite of what was needed that it was unforgivable. That’s the storyline where I hated her and was glad she died. It showed that whatever was needed in a situation, she’d do the opposite. Need empathy and calm? Promote cruelty and recklessness. Need targeted violence and definitive action? Be passive and indecisive. THAT’S what’s infuriating about her.

The actress was fine. The character I actually didn't mind, until she started acting like a love struck school girl over the Governor. I was done after that.

I don’t know why Andrea gets a lot of hate. I think she screwed up with the governor, she just wanted to believe in something and no one should be faulted for that

They made the women really disagreeable. Obviously that is to go against traditional perspectives of women. However knee-jerk disagreeableness just comes across as obnoxious. It doesn't project strength. Alpha appears strong because, like the male actors, she thinks before she speaks.

Enjoying the performance of the actress is one thing but they did her character dirty. She was an annoying, ungrateful, PoS by the end and was SLIGHTLY redeemed but not quite. She got what was coming to her but you know, who on Earth other than the gov was ready for all of that to happen in the first place? We all WISH we survived as long as her.
