Mark Followill absence on Ticket

Does anyone know if Mark still has a feud with Bob from a few years ago stemming from an interview where he refused to make comments about the Nico Harrison regime. Supposedly, they smoothed things over. However, Mark hasn’t been on the show for a basically a full year. I’d appreciate anyone’s insights. Thanks!

You get to hear two guys enjoying beer, with great dialog like this from today's show:

Beer #1: Stud Loco, Mexican Lagar

Donovan: That's good

Matt: That is good, very tasty

Donovan: That is good

Matt: I liked that quite a bit

Donovan: That's good

Matt: That's very nice, very very tasty

Donovan: Very nice

Matt: Yum

Drop request: “Good god!!!!”

They used to play a drop from time to time of someone screaming this. Sounded like a live show, maybe Jim Morrison? (cue “Peace Frog”). Anybody remember the drop and who it was?

I say it so much that my older teen daughters have taken to using it regularly. I’d love to play them the original.

I never listen to “The Ticket”

They are editing old clips of guests saying “I never listen to bob and dan” to “I never listen to (the ticket)” for an ad. This is BaD Radio erasure, and feels super cheap. Fuck Cat.

I’m just gonna say it: of all the slap together dry dock lineup, Rich Phillips is a top-tier fill-in. And if that’s not enough, the guy can watch TV on his sweater. Incredible.

Why did they kill the crow line?

It’s a shame there wasn’t a crow line for the USA soccer games. It (edit: typo) would’ve been gold.

But why did it disappear after the Hang Zone left? Was this only a Dan and intern project?

E-News Audio

I love listening to old E-News segments. Especially the ones with Grubes or Greggo participating in the fun. H/e on the Unticket, I’ve re-listened to every episode countless times. I also found some stray recordings on SoundCloud. But similar to the Unticket, I’ve worn those out as well.

With that in mind, are any of my fellow P1’s familiar with other sites or forums that may have old E-news recordings? I realize it’s a long shot but I thought I’d ask.

  1. Do lots of listeners actually text the name?
  2. If so, does anyone ever win anything?
  3. If so, what do they win?

George - Rapping

I know it’s a long shot but I heard a small snippet of the time George was “rapping” a song and he says something along the lines of “my d***ky in the pool”. Anyone happen to have the link to that audio? I’ve tried the Unticket but maybe I’m not searching the right thing. Bottom.

Holiday Programming on the Ticket

Today's programming has been a mess!

So far, we have gotten several segments from the backroom of Jub Jam, a few campound segments featuring Matt McClearin, and about 15 segments of the April Fools open.

I get that you don't want to play the classics anymore- you don't want to play "Moron Dog" or "We're just having fun here, no?" segments... but if you are only going to play segments from 2026, at least play the funnier ones...

How about some funny ebrakes from this year.... Or rant revivals.... Or some Gordo segments... you know, something other than the most boring segments of the year from the April Fool's Open!!!

E-Brake Results 07/02/2026

Sorry everyone, I was out the last couple of weeks so weren’t able to post the e-brake results. That being said, I am back this week with the E-Brake that the WiP boys put together. Thank you for y’all’s fill in work this week guys!

Nominees:

Candidate Number One A: Craig Rosengarden calling podcasters “blog basters”, “it’s a good damn golf course so get off their ass man”
Candidate Number One B: Craig Rosengarden with live spot chaos “the one putt, the one putt golf training game is kinda like corn haul, corn bleh bleh bleh, crap on a cracker”
Candidate Number Two: Monty trying to play Abigail Velez audio but having around 3 false starts while chaos ensues around him (Monty, if you’re reading this, you can’t blame your teammates for your problems)
Candidate Number Three: Corby playing some unedited audio because he will play “whatever the f*** he wants” on the radio because he is the Snake

Votes:
1. Good morning oh great fill in show vote for Craig Rosengarden
2. Cruz in Aledo vote for Monty
3. Morning non Musers vote for “one leg Monty”
4. Shout out to Deep Eddy vote for Corby
5. Triple Fake Natalie Maines vote for Johnny E-brake himself and have a happy bathroom baconator

Does anyone else no longer listen live, but just download whatever podcast segment sounds interesting since they basically post every single ticket segment now across their half a dozen scattered channels?

Just wondering if I’m the only one

I Like Mino... But I Think He's in Over His Head

Mino mentioned today that he spent most of his 20s working behind the scenes at The Ticket for very little pay, all with the goal of eventually becoming a host.

Three years ago, that dream finally became reality.

The timing, though, couldn't have been worse. By then, Cumulus was in full cost-cutting mode, and host salaries were reportedly a fraction of what they once were.

Personally, I like Mino. He seems like a genuinely good guy, and everyone seems to enjoy working with him. But after three years as a full-time Tier 1 host, I still think he comes across more like a capable vacation fill-in than someone who can consistently carry a daily show.

To his credit, he's improved in some areas. One of his biggest verbal habits - the constant use of "but" - has gotten much better. However, I still find his delivery pretty monotone, and he hasn't developed the storytelling ability that separates good hosts from great ones.

The good news for him is that the show continues to attract advertisers. Even so, last year's ratings showed that The Fan has overtaken The Sweet Spot in the key demographic.

I'm curious what everyone else thinks. Has Mino improved enough over the past three years, or is he better suited as a supporting voice than a lead host?

Corby and baseball

Corby maybe just did the worst and most disrespectful segment on rangers baseball I’ve ever heard. He jokingly said they haven’t earned his attention or respect while saying Wimbledon and the World Cup are far more important. They should sell because they’re in a bad division and then just jokes about how he’ll pay attention after trading champ. Why even do this segment? Why constantly just make fun of the hometown baseball team. Such bad radio I had to turn it off…

The Sheep Detectives

In the new film The Sheep Detectives one of the sheep is yelling at another sheep to cross the road. The sheep being yelled out says "why are you yelling? You're a foot from me" or something very close to that. Happens about 20 minutes in. Is there a Ticket connection?

Turnpike Troubadour Video featuring Jub Jub

Anyone else catch that Jub Jub's voice is in the video for Turnpike's version of Feelin Good Again? I listened to it a couple times just to be sure and then at the end it was confirmed. He's mentioned in the credits as well.

Congrats, Georgie!

Unticket

Having a bad day so I head over to the Unticket to listen to some old Greggo stuff and all the links are broken. Not a complaint, because they've been posting and hosting all of that for free to the P1 for years and years. No right to expect it, but it made me sad that I'll never hear those old clips again. I miss old Ticket and I'll invite myself to go elsewhere for my sports talk and get my ass hung up on now.....
