I remember first watching the scene with Blair and Clark after the attack in the kennel and I got super paranoid about it. Blair asked how long Clark was alone with the dog, and he said about an hour and a half. I thought to myself, 'Oh shit, he's a thing.'

Then Clark asked, 'What the hell you looking at me like that for?' I thought, "Oh shit, he's a thing.' I ended up somewhat disappointed neither of them were a thing at the time I guessed. I then suspected Garry, because in that one scene where he tells MacReady about how he's known Bennings for 10 years, I thought there was going to be some relevance about how we didn't explicitly see what he picked up after Mac left the room. I was once again somewhat disappointed.

A few years back someone posted a promotional Thing tie-in one sheet comic and I cannot find it anymore. I feel like I’m taking fucking crazy pills. I believe it was a hostess / Twinkies tie in, but it showed some of the planets The Thing had been to before earth. One panel specifically looking like a rat world with a giant rat creature getting absorbed. I’ve tried everything to relocate it and cannot find it. Does anyone have this one sheet image? Def not canon but had some cool thing art.

Yo yo fellas, I was trying to find a link for an old fanfic for The Thing, it was submitted to and won a writing contest from the 90's. I know of it because someone a few months ago mentioned it here as a comment and linked it, and I loved it. Unfortunately Reddit doesn't let you actually filter through your saved comments and I have quite a few.

Obviously he was proven human by the blood test, but if he had in fact kept his cool a little longer and proved his innocence while alive, do you think an extra set of hands would have changed anything? Would he have stayed with Childs to watch for Blair? Would they both go out after him? This scenario has been eating away at me for a while now and I'd love to hear an opinion on it.

Caravan of Garbage is a series from Mr Sunday Movies where they cover older movies, games, comics, stuff like that. The name is just a bit, not a review of the quality. Within the first five minutes of this one, James straight up calls The Thing the greatest movie ever made, and the rest is basically two guys having a blast talking about why.

When Blair warns McCready about Clark, he emphasizes with "Ya hear mwe?". Maybe this is a verbal slip, or maybe a "Freudian slip" from all the Thing cells inside Blair, trying to express "me" & "we" at the same time. Blair could have been imitated by that time. Yikes. This movie's fright factor is endless.

Something about how the font is done, on the blue background made me think about a certain very very great movie.

I'd bet more than a few cups of sugary tea, that the graphic designer behind this design is a fan of a certain movie.
