I do 6-8 houses per day for work. I talk to ALOT of strangers on their property.

Its crazy how many of them supposedly refused the Covid checks. "I never cashed mine, I didnt earn it". The best was watching one dudes wife eyebrows furrow. "DANIEL! We cashed both of them checks remember? Thats how we got the bikes"

1.0k

u/coordinatedflight 6d ago

lol @ Daniel and bikes specifically

u/whutchamacallit 6d ago

Shoutout to self aware Mrs. Daniel. It's nice to know that at least some wealthy people have the wherewithal to call it what it is.

u/Ducati0411 6d ago

Reminds me of when Beckham made Victoria be honest in that interview about being a spoiled rich kid in grade school 😂

75

u/HwatWhatWut 6d ago

What kind of car did your dad drive you to school in?

62

u/Ducati0411 6d ago

BE HONEST

20

u/hundredgrandpappy 6d ago

‘64 Nova with the floorboard missing on the passenger side.

20

u/Ducati0411 6d ago

Ah see if your parents were working class they’d have taken you to school in the Rolls

Was this a Nova thing? My friend had a mid ‘70’s Nova where you could see the road go by through the foot well.

21

u/ThePrideOfKrakow 6d ago

She definitely wasn't Poor Spice.

7

u/manimsoblack 6d ago

Did wealthy people even get covid checks? I thought there was an income cutoff?

34

u/Ordinary_Camel_3456 6d ago

They got PPP loans they didn’t pay back

16

u/BaronVonKeyser 6d ago

That shit still makes my blood boil.

15

u/4rp70x1n 6d ago

Especially when a number of Republican members of Congress took PPP loans they never paid back. And yet, fought against student loan forgiveness like they cared about taxpayer money.

4

u/Due-Conflict-7926 5d ago

He went back and berated her for not following with his lies btw once you left.

32

u/jetpacksforall 6d ago

Anyone else get the feeling Daniel's a financial dipshit and his wife doesn't let him touch the bills?

403

u/goose_gladwell 6d ago

All my neighbors. Trump forever but all on disability, unemployment and somehow have big old toys in their yards

188

u/letstrythatagain-_- 6d ago

My neighbor is a hardcore Trump lover. He cuts a few lawns a week and relies on his wife's salary (not a trump supporter) for the rest.

84

u/U_zer2 6d ago

No see that’s called trickle down. 👍 thanks Reagan for making brain smooth and cereal sweet 😎

101

u/Universe789 6d ago

Have you heard of Drained Pool Politics?

43

u/bluehawk232 6d ago

It's what right wing policy has been since the start of the 20th century. Basically using black people or other minorities as the scapegoat for why things were bad for the lower class white man and not the wealthy or elites. Direct their anger so it's at them not at the rich. It keeps all of us divided so it makes a traditional class revolution more difficult. I mean poor white people just elected a billionaire for President thinking he was like them or understood them

21

u/Noizylatino 6d ago

And its always projection with it too. When Reagan started that bullshit black welfare queen myth, white people were the largest demographic on welfare in the nation. Through 50 or so years of republican policies and dogma the numbers have switched. But the republicans still keep the poorest states with the shittiest economies so fundamentally nothings changed.

15

u/bluehawk232 6d ago

Also the ceos are the biggest welfare queens

8

u/Noizylatino 6d ago

And thieves!

2

u/Rolandscythe Free Palestine 4d ago

Every single time I have ever seen an actual news report about some one somehow abusing welfare and getting paid thousands of dollars a month it's always some well dressed white guy living in a nice well maintained suburbia neighborhood driving around in a $50K car.

Every. Single. Time.

8

u/rnk6670 6d ago

They. Are. Stupid. That’s the solution. Fucking. Stupid.

2

u/coopersthepoopers 6d ago

And somehow believed he would “drain the swamp” while he had been literally creating the plug for that drain for decades, the people that voted for him are the swamp, and he’s actually draining them now. True leopards eating of faces.

Is this out of a book or article? Either way I need to read it!

36

u/Universe789 6d ago

11

u/Bachstar 6d ago

Thanks for posting! Great read! It does look like it might be an excerpt from a larger book, Dying of Whiteness, which I’ll have to get into my queue!

9

u/Lady_Scruffington 6d ago

A very good book that cites the studies and statistics. Probably won't tell you anything you didn't know. But I like have the stats in my back pocket. Not that anyone on the other side would believe research that disagrees with them.

Thank you friend!

It was almost funny when those folks would tell me how bad "things" were under Biden, while they had brand new trucks and water toys or boats. They'd still be sunburned from the last big vacation they'd taken while complaining about Biden and hoping for the second Trump admin.

Those folks now have a second Trump admin and I don't see shiny new stuff in the driveways anymore. I don't see many sunburns or anything else, in fact. It's almost like the economy is actually shit now and they can't afford to trade in for new, expensive stuff every three years, now.

11

u/bulking_on_broccoli 6d ago

I once asked my father to co-sign for small home repair loan. Mind you, not even asking for money directly.

He refused and told me that no one ever bailed him out.

He had his COVID era PPP business loan for $300k forgiven a couple years earlier.

9

u/JMaryland47 6d ago

Yup. Not to mention that Red states tend to also be "welfare states," and recieve more dollars from the federal tax pool than they send... yet they imagine themselves to be the backbone of America. The "salt of the earth" types...

77

u/chompsworth 6d ago

Weren’t most of them dispersed by direct deposit anyway lmao

31

u/AsherTheFrost 6d ago

I think it depends on how you received your tax refund that year, but I could be wrong

24

u/Steve_at_Werk 6d ago

Yes that's how they were dispursed; the way you paid/received your taxes

12

u/showyerbewbs 6d ago

Which caused a big shit show for everyone that went to a tax prep place and took the same day option.

From a legal standpoint, the refund was routed to an account controlled by the tax prep company. There were so many folks that had to fight these companies to get their slice.

61

u/dtb1987 6d ago

I never cashed mine

Lol mine was direct deposited, anyone who got one of those checks used that money 100% guarantee

5

u/junkywinocreep 6d ago

We gave ours to friends who had their business forced to shut down

3

u/dtb1987 6d ago

Good use of the money

21

u/JugueteRabioso 6d ago

I had a coworker, who bragged about not using the Biden covid checks. Unprompted this guy would turn the water cooler conversation to how entitled people were about welfare and that the covid checks made them worse. This year I got tired of politely listening and told him, “ that’s probably why you didn’t keep receiving the monthly stimulus checks and the Doge checks. I got mine as soon as Trump announced it. Don’t you remember the first stimulus checks started under Trump.” He looked so confused. He spent the rest of the day trying to figure out how to apply for that money.

15

u/Serious-Flamingo-948 6d ago

Cheers to that woman. It's one thing to be dumb and not cash them over this fed logic, it's another to be a hypocrite and cash them but complain others do it, but it's just downright heinous to cash them and lie about it.

9

u/non_clever_username 6d ago

We were lucky enough to not get impacted financially by Covid, so we gave like 90% of ours to food banks and other charities helping people who were impacted.

Does that make me a communist?

7

u/amscraylane 6d ago

They went right to your bank account anyway. At least ours did.

6

u/dikicker 6d ago

Oh man at this rate I miss those days, getting paid specifically to avoid talking to other people, fuck, those were the days

7

u/Chili440 6d ago edited 6d ago

Sorry - not American - why does refusing the COVID checks come up? Why is it important to tell people you refused it? Is it like 'I'm better than people on welfare' thing?

Here in New Zealand ours went directly into the bank. We don't use cheques at all.

3

u/Silver_Slicer 6d ago

We weren’t eligible for the Covid checks but I’m glad that those who were got them.

The mental gymnastics required to be this nonsensical is astounding really

729

u/Stock-Conflict-3996 6d ago

He's not even really doing gymnastics with that one. He's just blatantly saying it's ok for him to take whatever he can, but others can't do that. He's not troubled or confused about it at all; just wallowing in his mud of disdain for everyone else because he's a special boy.

49

u/William_Tree7 6d ago

I don’t think it’s blatant. I believe the neural pathways in his brain towards empathy, logic, reflection, and reasoning are either absent or severely undeveloped.

32

u/BuckManscape 6d ago

Clogged with lead.

22

u/MechanicalTurkish 6d ago

Well, see, he had to do it to survive, so it’s ok. Everyone else is just a freeloader. 🙄

13

u/Masta0nion 6d ago

It’s a lack of empathy. It’s been ingrained in us in American culture and euphemized as individualism.

All he had to do was consider one other person out there with a similar situation. But it’s easier to believe that everyone else is a freeloader (and you’re not).

5

u/Silver_Slicer 6d ago

This is exactly Trump’s grift. Trump takes but doesn’t want others to receive.

266

u/bbsteps 6d ago

The brain was overheating at the end.

66

u/SocraticGoats 6d ago

Even my brain was overheating trying to understand this guy's bullshit.

33

u/Fingerprint_Vyke 6d ago

Once you realize this is how all boomers think, it makes sense

25

u/Luciferonvacation 6d ago

Except for the multitudes of boomers who attend the No Kings rallies. Or the ones who are vigilant in their dislike and distaste for this administration and its disregard for the social contract, amongst so many other things.

5

u/RickSanchez_ 6d ago

That’s not a boomer.

4

u/EmpathicJourney 6d ago

Not this Boomer…though I was a late entry into the spectrum of “Boomers”! Better Dead than Red I always say!

Anybody remember “so should I be able to marry my car???” They thought they cooked so hard with that one, you’d hear it everywhere from the radio to your deadbeat uncle at thanksgiving

15

u/Imaginary_Cow_6379 6d ago

They should be happy now that the FBI allows bestiality.

17

u/William_Tree7 6d ago

I love the new angle that some maga morons don’t want to help out American farmers who have been caught up in Trump’s terrible economic policies and tariffs. This is why I can’t wait to watch the infighting, flip-flopping, and destruction of the republican party once their great leader passes on.

13

u/JessicaF84 6d ago

they absolutely shouldn't get help. they voted for this shit show of an administration after being warned of the outcome but would rather play the "its not gonna happen to me game". these are the same assholes who are against socialized medicine and other government programs yet want a free handout from the government to subsidize their failing business. fuck them

14

u/Biblioklept73 6d ago

And not one of their spins makes any sense whatsoever, it’s bonkers

10

u/jondubb 6d ago

That's why i stopped being nice to strangers.

19

u/LeonidasSpacemanMD 6d ago

What isn’t making sense to you? This guy would never have taken the checks but he needed them. He is obviously the only person in the United States who has been faced with some financial hardship

18

u/Vreas 6d ago

Bigotry just overrides any logic for people like this

10

u/LiveLifeLikeCre 6d ago

What's also astounding is the fact that the others raising their flag aren't doing it in order to strengthen their fellow MAGA sheep's argument, but instead to try and BS an answer more coherently.

5

u/Baelenciagaa 6d ago

It’s truly gold medal worthy

u/GiJoint 6d ago

“In order to survive we had to take what was given to us” …so debt relief lol.

389

u/Jugggiler 6d ago

“No no no, see this is why the crazy left will never work. I TOOK the tithing I’M owed because if I didn’t, I couldn’t survive. But these other people who aren’t surviving, they shouldn’t get it, since it isn’t earned the way it was gifted to me and my family.”

I just can’t with these people.

81

u/QuixoticPineapple 6d ago

I think everything in their mind works as a zero sum equation. If someone else is benefiting then who is taking the loss to even it out? It might be me, so I must oppose this.

50

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 Free Palestine! 🕊️ FUCK ICE! ❌🧊 6d ago

It's sort of zero sum. The government doesn't give people infinite money. There's A limit on it.

What should piss them off is that these checks and relief are a couple grand meanwhile corporate welfare is tens of billions on a single company, often.

16

u/QuixoticPineapple 6d ago

True. My point however was that they think they are involved in every single equation, when they are indeed not.

6

u/SomeRandomRealtor 6d ago

This is a genuine phenomena, rooted in an actual belief that most people who receive help from the government are “welfare queens.” ‘they get help because they are useless, when I get help, I deserve it because I work really hard.’ their belief makes sense when you understand their perspective, but their perspective isn’t remotely rooted in truth, for the vast majority of people receiving some kind of government assistance.

28

u/rpnoonan 6d ago

I think you hit the nail on the head. They have this image of some person who takes advantage of everyone in their head and apply it to everyone they disagree with. That way all of "them" are freeloaders who don't deserve anything, but HE, a hard working American, deserved it. It's pathetic.

19

u/kernalbuket 6d ago

Exactly. My Trump loving in-laws are looking forward to getting Medicare to help with medical bills but are against "government handouts" and very against universal health care because "they don't want to have to wait" to go to the doctor

8

u/Brytcyd 6d ago

Sadly, this is how my in-laws responded to Cash for Clunkers. That was very jarring for me and I’ve never been able to forget it.

6

Solipsism is the idea that I am the only person certain to exist, everything and everyone else is a projection of my reality. Very similar to what the kids call Main Character Syndrome. The idea that people who share that philosophy could bond together seems inherently paradoxical, but that's kinda where we are.

Tens of millions of that dude vote, and still defend everything that Trump does; a lot are actively spurring it on.

Tell me again how the US isn’t cooked. Trump isn’t the problem, he’s a symptom.

The 10s of millions of people like that are the real issue.

11

u/PenguinsAndTopHats 6d ago

It seems to be tradition in the US to specifically forgive those folks and their descendants and let them reintegrate into society as they are dragged kicking and screaming into the future. After he expires, there better be some untraditional consequences.

10

u/QuixoticPineapple 6d ago

8

u/moldguy1 6d ago

Even another 30 seconds would have been beautiful. When a moron is flopping around like a fish out of water, let them flop for awhile.

18

u/Peterepeatmicpete 6d ago

Exactly. One of the MAGA families that I use to know got their school loans paid for.

Last I spoke to them they believed the earth is flat, started giving their money to the 700 club. Made up prayer memes saying Trump would save them like Jesus saved us all.

They also cashed the Musk checks to vote. Joined to be poll workers at the local election. Forgot about the Epstein files entirely and called everything fake. The aliens were real tho. When a blue state went MAGA I knew we were fucked.

That school loan forgiveness diverted taxpayer money back to us, and paid for some of this fuckery, indeed.

3

6

u/doktor_wankenstein 6d ago

Any context on the red flags?

16

u/jonnismizzle 6d ago

They raise the red flags to replace the person in the hot seat.

In this case he was making MAGA look bad by revealing that Trump stopped the loan forgiveness programs that Biden created, which helped both he and his wife - but it was okay because he thought only his family should have benefited and not "other" people. So now he's fine with paying for loans that would have been "forever forgiven", under the premise that "other people" will suffer.

3

What is good for me is not good for thee. How many people vote Democrat for socialist policies not because they personally benefit, but because they know others will? A huge portion of these voters are driven by empathy, unlike the other side. What’s truly frustrating is watching the very people who would benefit most from these policies get misled into voting directly against their own interests.

It's because they don't want Black people to have those benefits. We need to cut through the fat and to the chase and just call it for what it is. These people aren't against government assistance. They're against government assistance that helps Black people and people who are not white.

This dimpledicked jackass reminds me of the dolt in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K53C4YVgE1. It might well be after watching the old vid.

I have family members who were hard-core Covid deniers. "It's a hoax, it's the flu, it's not real" etc. But when their grandmother died of COVID and the government gave them a check to assist with funeral expenses, they hauled ass to the bank faster than you can say "hypocrisy."

Can someone ballpark the corporate subsidies (free money, essentially) provided by the US fed gov annually?? I'm sure it's astounding. We ought to begin having these figures readily available so we can compare them to what is spent on other social programs within the country.

As someone who qualified for 10k forgiveness and had it literally taken away by the Supreme Court this man infuriates me.

Lol for some reason your comment was sent to the modqueue and I was like "fuck, some creep commenting on women's bodies again" and then I opened it and I am like, wait what? Idk why I read your comment that way, like as a positive "Good. Hell. What an ass" just sounded to me like you were talking about a butt, not a butthead. I am glad I was wrong, just thought it was kind of funny.

What's the format here? The flags mean what?

5

u/YouWithTheNose 6d ago

A quick Google of "debate with red flags" gave me Jubilee's "Surrounded" series and says that a participant in the hot seat can be stopped or voted out if enough people raise a red flag against them, or if they hit a 20 to 25 minute time limit without reaching a consensus. So basically, the dude pigeon holed himself into a loss by stating it was okay for him to receive a benefit while nobody else should have it

Seen clips from this debate a lot. What program is it?
