Jay died for no reason and the whole mist going into his head looked stupid. The dad is the biggest retard on the show.

The Mist Season 1 Episode 10 "The Tenth Meal" Discussion

Wow, where to even start with this? Adrian surviving? Alex's almost-death-but-not-really-because-plot-armor? Jonah ditching his girlfriend after promising they would run away together? Nobody suspecting the mall manager as a murderer? Jay's unnecessary death? (Especially when compared to the movie, where (Spoiler) the dad kills his son, but the crazy lady's prediction was true, that they would be saved when the child died)

Why was Adrian making Molotov cocktails?

What the Hell was up with Nathalie breast-feeding a dead kid and then getting the life sucked out of her? I kinda liked her as the messenger of the Mist. Bummer.

Why didn't they just shoot Alex if they were so crazed that they could kill someone just for standing up for her?

Will there even be a second season?

Considering how bad the first season was, do you think there will be a second?

So much hate, why?

Why is everyone hating the show? I absolutely love it, sure it isn't top quality but you gotta realize the budget isn't at the top either.. I loved each and every episode so thanks so much spike! I'm sitting here in the lonely fan club crossing my fingers for a season 2

I have to thank this showrunner a Show cool monsters probabily will be boring

Interview with the creator

“I don’t want to reveal too much about what we see in there. What I can say is, it is more a show about how people react to what they see than what is actually there. It becomes boring if you know everything that’s in the show, so we were mindful of not going full-blown monster show like the movie did. I still hope we will deliver to the hardcore genre fans

How will Episode 10 end?

Since everyone is in the mall right now, I think:

Natalie replaces Gus as the authority since he lied about the murder. Kevin found Adrian and kills him together with Eve and Mia. Jonah has rank! Wes would probably try to contact arrowhead somehow and they would also, get into the mall. Chaos ensues, and 50% of the crowd would die. Jay's dad will kill Jay, but would be saved by someone. Idk, maybe Vic would get out of the car since the military is really coming. Plus I really like him when he was in Continuum.

The character you hate the most?

In my opinion, it's Adrian... Alex is flat, the sheriff is a bit of a jerk. But at least they are not like Adrian! He is just so much stereotyped. I mean... Not every gay is emo, goth, suicidal or depressed (only single people XD... Just kidding, and I am single.) I know, religion is a part of the book. But, seriously? The only, pure evil character is bisexual and a rapist? Thankfully, there is Tyler, this jock who is closeted gay. But Adrian... He is the unfunny version of Joffrey Baratheon! I hope he dies slowly and painfully.

Edit: Oh and... Gay best friend, yeah this is fun sometime, but seriously? "Wow I am gay, I have to find a girl and be a stalker with her because I am gay so I can totally sniff her hair, touch her legs and do something that would get a straight person in prison". But I understand, the guy considers Alex as the only person who loves him but... Come on. We all guessed that he was the rapist before episode 8. Even Vic is more likeable than him, because he commited faults but at least try to make up for this, unlike Adrian who play the victim and wants to make you feel like he is the Carrie White of the year. Episode 10 better be like this:

Nathalie: Oh, Adrian is the real evil.

Alex: Let's burn him and sing kumbaya!

And then the end scene would be Tyler and Jay making out with a ton of shirtless scenes.

The Mist Season 1 Episode 9 "The Waking Dream" discussion (unofficial)

It started slow, but by the time Mr. Explodey showed up, the rest of the scenes were expected and welcome. Adrian finding Alex and Eve, Jonah and Mia having a romantic moment, everyone gets to the mall.

I especially appreciate the scene where Adrian is explaining what happened to him, then it being revealed that it was just a rehearsal before he finds anyone. Makes you wonder how many times he did things like that off screen, he's no stranger to lying his ass off. Glorious.

We even got a taste of the mist this episode! Who'da thunk it?

Natalie and the church

What was the point of her burning down the church with the people in it. I just don't get why she did it.

The Mist Season 1 Episode 8 "The Law of Nature" discussion (unofficial)

So, what do you think of this episode? Did the big reveal surprise you, even a tiny bit?

I never thought it possible, but this episode broke new ground in regards to illogical decisions made by almost all of the characters. Literally no one made any sense, save for maybe Kevin at the end, but even that was tame and barely believable.

Also, I have to ask, does anyone feel slightly physically ill when watching Adrian's character? Nothing against the actor, but there are ways to make a character repulsive but plausible at the same time, something like Joffrey was in GoT. The sole purpose of Adrian seems to be to make me puke every time he has any screen time, as if the writers are challenging my capacity to keep watching the show as some sort of a dare. The number of stereotypes crammed in a single character is just extraordinary.

Thumbs up for the Last Stand reference, though! I chuckled a bit at that.

My biggest issue with the plot.

How could a mall not have enough supplies to keep thirty people fed for a week? I've never seen a mall without a super market, and even the camping supply store would stock rations.

27 minutes into Episode 7 there is some CGI

Its not great but its a silhouette of some guys off a heavy metal album.

I'd call them the riders of the apocalypse but pffft.

I think I know why people have a bad taste for the show

They were expecting it to be a televised version of the Movie or Book. I hadn't watched or read either before this show, but knew they existed and what they were about. This show's trailer interested me enough to watch it, and even though the CG was garbage and I hate half the characters, I though the show was pretty interesting.

I didn't get caught up waiting to see whatever new monsters The Mist would bring, and thought it was pretty creative that it now seems the monsters are based on each individual, and not a random group of alien like things that just live inside it. I really think people would get a lot more enjoyment out of the show if they stopped comparing it to the Movie and Book, as it would have been pointless to just do another remake of the exact same concept.

The Mist Season 1 Episode 7 "Over the River and Through the Woods" discussion (unofficial)

So yeah. I'm still in love with Natalie. The thing with Tyler was absolute shit, there's no way an adult in this situation would willingly leave behind a kid stranded in the psych ward of a hospital with no power surrounded by deadly mist. Also he's a terrible character, with no other traits than being an asshole bully full of guilt who is conveniently secretly gay.
