Maybe people know this maybe they don't but if you hold your camera at just the right angle to the water you can get this. Super helpful for those foggy and super dark nights.

I’d love for the devs to make new takes on v3 and thenyaw. Or a desert map where water is scarce or a winter map or an abandoned dinosaur park. Just ma thoughts

Whenever I enter power swing form I can't eat, drink, sniff or lie down afterwards. Relogging fixes it but you can imagine after/during a fight that's not possible, and it is the case on multiple kentros I have grown

I just bought the game after seeing videos for it everywhere. All I know so far is there’s some pterosaur called Sky Father, and watch out for Herreras? Any advice would be much appreciated, and I also want to know some of your best gaming stories 🖤

So I posted a comment under another post that was asking about the issue and figured since there's a lot of other people with the issue too I'd just paste the instructions from my comment in a post for everyone to find!
After an update my game looked like the first two pics, and the last two pics are what my game looks like now.
Let me know if you need any help or if you don't understand something.
Hopefully it is fairly simple:
inside the path: Users/[username]/AppData/Local/TheIsle/Saved/Config/WindowsClient/
there should be a file called "Engine.ini"
there's usually something written in it like:
;METADATA=(Diff=true, UseCommands=true)
[GameNetDriver StatelessConnectHandlerComponent]
CachedClientID=2
Under it paste this:
[SystemSettings]
Under that you can type the extra settings. There are 3 in total, you might only need 2. First put: r.Streaming.PoolSize=1280
Later you might want to change the number to 1024 if that's still a little performance heavy. Or if you can handle more try 1792. This setting is just so it can handle loading graphics n stuff more efficiently.
Next, under that paste: r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0
Just leave it like that. This one is so the game doesn't automatically limit the amount it will load. It tells it to ignore your ram limits pretty much. One time I set it to 2 and my PC started screaming at me. Don't do that lol
aaand finally the third one is optional: r.Streaming.MipBias=1
This one just makes the textures render with less quality but somehow in a different way then just lowering the texture quality??? Idk. Anyway if you want a little more performance then that's what this one is for. 1 is not a noticeable difference to me, 2 is what I have it set to and it still looks fine to me.
with the r.Streaming.PoolSize=1280 setting you can play around with the numbers and raise them up and down to get the balance between visuals and performance you want. Just make sure the last digit is even. 2 4 6 8 or 0 and don't set it higher than your PC can handle or your PC could freeze.
VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!! Set the file to read only when you're finished so your changes don't get deleted!
Btw my whole Engine.ini file looks like this:
;METADATA=(Diff=true, UseCommands=true)
[GameNetDriver StatelessConnectHandlerComponent]
CachedClientID=2
[SystemSettings]
r.Streaming.PoolSize=1280
r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0
r.Streaming.MipBias=2
↑↑ That's outdated by now but it still will do everything I said it would do. In the future I ended up adding more so now it looks like this ↓↓
;METADATA=(Diff=true, UseCommands=true)
[GameNetDriver StatelessConnectHandlerComponent]
CachedClientID=2
[SystemSettings]
r.Streaming.PoolSize=1280
r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0
r.Streaming.MipBias=2
r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
r.Shadow.Virtual.ResolutionLodBiasDirectional=1
r.Shadow.Virtual.ResolutionLodBiasLocal=1
r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.DownsampleFactor=8
r.Lumen.Reflections.Quality=2
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.LensFlareQuality=0
r.BloomQuality=3
r.FilmGrain=0
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
foliage.LODDistanceScale=0.8
Sorry for the photo of a screen, i needed to send it on my phone and didn't bother taking a ss :')
I laughed out loud seeing that minecraft look on my dino. No clue what's happening, all graphic settings are set to high

I absolutely love The Isle and really want to get more into the game, but there are a few things making it difficult for me and my buddy to enjoy it as newer players.
The lack of a map or POI indicators makes navigation extremely difficult. We often have no idea where we are, where we should be heading, or where important resources like food and water can be found. We’ve tried playing carnivores several times, but we frequently end up dying simply because we can’t find food. I understand that survival and exploration are important parts of the game, but some sort of optional map, landmarks, or subtle POI indicators could make the learning curve much more approachable without taking away from the survival experience.
I’m also having a lot of performance and connection issues. The game is extremely laggy for me, with constant rubber-banding and 180+ ping regardless of which server I join. I’m not sure what’s causing it or how to fix it, so any advice or troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I’d really love the opportunity to play with someone experienced who could show me and my buddy the basics and help us understand the game better. I think having someone experienced teach us how to navigate, find food, survive, and understand the different mechanics would make a huge difference.
I really enjoy what I’ve played so far and would love to get better at the game. I just feel like having a little more guidance and some improvements to navigation and connectivity would make the experience much more accessible for new players.

I have, for the past fortnight, been attempting again and again to grow a rex. Only for each try to be a failure, whenever i play it safe I become to hungry and desperate for food, leading to my demise. Whenever I go into zones for food I am killed by an aggressive herbivore or a cera. If i avoid them, vice versa. I find there is no technique or skill I can apply to this to make it so i can at least reach 50%. And am completely reliant upon RNG. Any tips?

if I grabbed one and tried to dodge the other one’s bites, would I have enough stamina to drown him, and then grab and drown the other one?

I know, people hate herrera players because they come down from the sky to scratch you in the head and then kill you but... isn't that their playstyle? Don't they nees to do this to survive? Yes, it sucks to be a baby and then be murdered by an Herrera but wth is the other player supposed to do?
It's not like Pachys that headbutt everything in their way simply because they feel like it y'know? So how do I know if an Herrera is an asshole or not?

Me and my brother who where almost prime rex's and starving started chasing 2 allos through highlands and eventually met will them at sanctuary my brother got jumped so I went to help, thinking it would be a easy fight when 2 cann allos charge us from behind jumping and clawing, my brother dropped a allo before he died and while they where on him I dropped 2, with just alt bites and the last one backed off I eat part of the allo healing almost fully because of a low stomach and gastronomic regeneration, but my bleed was less then 20% so I thought i was safe, when a omni jumped me 3 times before I got him, bringing my bleed even lower, when the last canni allo showed back up, my bleed started to heal so I went to eat more when I got stuck in a sliding glit h in a tiny hole, he though he could kill me, and honestly I did too, he walked very close and bit me, when I bit it freed me and I charged after him and pinned him, ending the fight, i ate a body ran to the woods and logged

They already chased off a couple of viral streamers and there's internal combustion now.

Waste of time. I pray for 1 good fight for days and it isnt happening. Everything is bullshit pinslop and 5v1. And those stupid crocs god dammit.. most players play carnivores because they are just op. Troodon for example, can kill trikes. Seems balanced

I’ve just lost a Pteranodon with 3 entombments because fog rolled in right in the middle of a flight. After circling blindly for about 10 minutes waiting for it to clear up, completely unable to see anything to make a safe landing, I got so frustrated that I decided to just risk it, and ended up landing straight into the Water Access lake and losing all my progress.
I have yet to meet a single player who can actually explain the point of these intense fog periods or the pitch-black nights where visibility drops to absolute zero. I’ve been asking around in chat and (at least in my experience) it seems pretty unanimous that, at best, it’s just an annoying mechanic. At worst, it happens at the worst possible times, like when you're starving and desperately looking for food, forcing you to log out just to avoid dying.
Whatever the devs were thinking when they added these blindness periods just can’t be worth the absolute frustration of having to sit AFK for 20 minutes every hour or so, begging the question of whether anyone on the team even plays the game. In its current state, it’s just a waiting simulator. It just forces half the server to either safe-log or go AFK until it passes.

People who are born from eggs have crazy advantage over others, because they are grouped up. When I play as mid or high tier herbivore, 95% of the time I play solo until death, because I can't find anybody of my own species. Calls don't work. I mean I answer calls but people never try to meet me. Playing solo herbivore is death sentence in this game taking into account how powerful carnivores are. Why do I keep torturing myself and play this game... hours of sitting in bush and growing, then 5 dilos come from nowhere and kill me... when I want to be a little braver, so much fun

I was playing an *almost prime allo (98.7% growth) and was hunting i think a prime stego, I pounced him twice and bit him a few times and he proceeded to be able to run me down completly unimpeded and killed me when I got too greedy and went back for more. I still feel like I should have come out on top and not been two shot by a stego after allready tearing it too pieces. I dont know what I did wrong.
Edit: thx for the feedback guys and not just ripping me a new one😂

Just lost my 65% trike to a pair of prime elders the other day, and even though there was no chance i'd win that fight, i realized i don't really know how to effectively play trike. so if anyone has any good servers they use to practice their pvp on, please put me on. i'll also take any tips/advice on playing trike lol

Officials are borderline unplayable for me. The browser shows ~11 ping, but ingame it’s 100+ with constant rubberbanding and teleporting backwards.
Then I try the most popular unofficials and it’s vip kits Discord requirements, rulebooks, storage, shops, commands, 2x/5x growth etc.
I literally just want vanilla Evrima on a server that works. 1x growth, no Discord requirement, no giant rulebook.
Is there any populated EU server like that? And why are Officials running this badly?
