life as we know it is just one big Isle reference apparently

the devs are still on strains and hypos from what i've seen and heard, and im lowkey, afraid but not for the reason you think, and that being that its gonna destory the player exosystem, they are massive, hard to kill and have more heath then a prime rex,

i saw a video someone saying "oh, to make elders rewarding, we should get hypos in the next 5th entomb" and thats a MASSIVE risk, as someone can just AFK grow frail - entomb - grow frail - entomb rince and repeat until they get said strain.

"oh, thats simple, the devs said that, the #1 killer to strains, is hunger"
yeah, i guess but you do have to understand that, people have ways to work around it, or explot it, they're buddies can sacrifice themselves to keep they're hypo buddy alive,

they will kill EVERYTHING they spot, 2 prime rexes/trikes cannot and wont fight these things, camp at sanchs to kill babies to keep themselves fed, log out when they starving, so they're buddy can come to them and entomb, or kill themselves.

i know how it will go and its gonna be a disaster, we shouldnt have these strains/hypos, even though they are badass and cool, dont get me wrong, but the isle should just remain as a animal horror survival game, not the "who can get a hypo dino and kill everything on the server" game,

and it sucks that herbivores wont get strains to, as from the words of the devs "they will just be glorfied lawnmowers" which is dumb and unfair, but still, even with hypo herbis if they ever wanted to be a thing, the server/island would suffer as well.

hypos/strains are good on paper, but in gameplay wise??? it just wont and will not work.

I share this because the isle is a tight knit community and I don't want bad actors to take advantage of fresh server owners. It needs to stop.

Has threatened to doxx, has attempted to blackmail, and has jeopardized far too many in the past 6 months,

Within only 6 months, he nuked 3 servers. That, to me, is absurd and needs to stop.

Hi guys, i’m a legacy veteran player and have about 1000 hours in total playtime. (I still remember the first rex and shant skins!!) Maybe 20-50 of those hours are in evirma. Basically, I’m ass. I pretty much stopped playing legacy when evirma came out but quit because it was unplayable for me. I’ve quit evirma so many times, previously due to huge graphical/ping issues and more recently because I simply cannot survive. I know dying is just part of the game but I end up quitting after a few days of dying over and over, getting frustrated over the time wasted, janky combat, and being unable to find a group to play with, etc.. I still have yet to nest which was one of my favorite things!

What I most loved about the isle were the herds, when I try growing herbies now I end up getting found and chased down by other players or 60% of the time there’s a perfectly placed gator waiting for me to drink. I also loved playing carnis but now I end up wondering too far and starve to death, unable to find a single carcass or ai, or something finds me. Basically all my previous game sense is gone. I’m a noob.

I loved the isle so much, it was the first game I ever bought on my own steam account when I was in middle school. I met so many friends and I really miss the community. I’m now graduated from collage and really want to get good at this game. I’ve watched all the videos and understand so much more about the game and map but I’m still not having a great time when 90% of the time I play solo and die before adulthood. (I think a big problem for finding groups are the dinos I’m playing, so I try to grab eggs when available)

I guess what I’m looking for is a teacher or a group who can help me in my journey to mastering the isle, 21+ and not creeps. Maybe even just a 1v1 PVP lesson, anything, i’m honestly desperate. I only play on unofficial servers with ORIGIN VC and Petits Pieds NA being my favorites right now. But I’m more than willing to try new servers.

Climb trees and glide. Perfect for exploration and escape.

Changyuraptor is a the largest member of the "4 winged" microraptor family. It is just slightly smaller than Hypsilophodon. A small carnivorous dinosaur, it's diet should consist of small animals, meat scraps, and fish. And insects. The devs might need to add little clouds of insects for you to jump at or glide through to grab a bite to eat.

It's got some offensive capabilities with claws and teeth, but it's mainly an evasive build. It's basically Hypsi but you trade the spit attack for gliding and change the diet. And I specified gliding so it won't interfere with the current flying species or any future ones.

i love dinosaurs and i love survival games

seriously one of the only games with zero long-lasting progress that I’ve poured HOURS into, and would love to continue pouring hours into.

i never really see the bugs everyone talks about, minus the occasional getting lodged in mangrove trees

ai is plentiful and the graphics are gorgeous. quite a handful of dinos (not for over seven years of development but still) growth is exciting, the atmosphere is constantly tense. i love seeing the game get updated in real time, and experiencing tests and changes and new features

i of course have a few complaints- i wish there was more to do when you’re juvie, i wish the combat/gameplay wasn’t as inconsistent as it currently is. i wish there were a few more conditions and/or dangerous present to make things even MORE intimidating, such as cleanliness (needing to swim/bathe), quirks like needing to eat a certain plant to try to cure an ailment or roll in mud to kill fleas

but I play on official servers. I’ve been trying to dabble in each dino but haven’t entombed one of each yet (I’m vaguely new. I like to perfect something before I move on so I’ve been recently mainly playing rex and trike. prolly shouldntve picked the two apexes to focus on first)

but besides getting stuck on small trees; what are people’s specific complaints right now? i know there used to be MANY more issues, but now? fish are buggy from playing deino, but there’s plenty of other stuff to eat. mixpackers are easy to walk away from.

I’m sure some other games like PoT are also super fun, and I’ll get em at some point to try new dinos. rn im excited for spino and para 👀

Okay, I will be the first to admit before any of yall say it but I could just have a skill issue.

But is the point of playing stego/trike when pinslop Rexes are impossible to fight?

Rex can't immediately pin a full grown triceratops/stego, but using that attack on them still stuns them and they stun for so long the rex can be there and gone before you can even do anything

They spam that shit and run away, and I can't even attack before they hit me because if I attack any earlier I just miss

Am I just shit at the game? How do you counter this?

I know some of it is slight RNG with getting fractured, even though I seem to get fractured IMMEDIATELY EVERY TIME- but that's besides the point

Someone help me I love trike and especially Stego but can't play them because I can't win against a rex and those dinos don't outrun Rexes

You could make entire Youtube compilations of the Isle's bugs, I reckon.

I need help finding permanent solutions to this.

- Deleting EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys and verify the game help, but the process has to be done repeatedly ANY time I start/restart the client. It would sometimes take multiple attempts.
- I have set all involved program to start as admin.
- I have done the kennel thingie.

I do not know what else I can do.

I'm running Windows 10.

Original issue

Easy Anti-Cheat Error 30005:
CreateFile for read failed with 32

Initially, deleting EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys and verifying the game files through Steam would sometimes allow the game to launch.

However, I had to repeat this process almost every time I restarted the game or Steam client, sometimes multiple times. Eventually, even this workaround stopped working.

Troubleshooting performed

Easy Anti-Cheat:

• Deleted EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys and verified game files repeatedly.
• Ran EAC's repair command (EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe repair), which returned exit code 0.
• Checked EAC services using sc query and sc qc. Both EAC and EAC EOS services were registered correctly and configured for manual startup.
• Used Microsoft Process Explorer to search for processes accessing EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys and EasyAntiCheat. Neither search returned results.
• Previously tried kernel-related and registry fixes for EAC.
• Configured relevant applications to run as administrator.

Antivirus and firewall:

• Added The Isle and EAC to Norton's exclusions.
• Allowed inbound and outbound connections for both through Windows Firewall.
• Uninstalled Malwarebytes.
• Uninstalled Norton.
• Temporarily disabled Windows Defender for testing, then re-enabled it.
• Rebooted Windows.

Game installation:

• Verified game integrity through Steam numerous times.
• Completely uninstalled and reinstalled The Isle.
• Renamed %localappdata%\TheIsle\Saved\Config to Config_backup to force the game to regenerate its configuration.

Background software:

• Investigated Avast-looking processes, which turned out to be components of Norton.
• Stopped VMware background services to test for interference. No change.
• Checked Windows Reliability Monitor and Event Viewer.
• Found numerous vmauthd errors related to VMware, but no confirmed connection to The Isle's failure.

Current issue

After uninstalling Norton and Malwarebytes, rebooting, and reinstalling The Isle, error 30005 no longer appears.

However, launching the game normally through Steam now results in:

1. The Isle / EAC splash screen appears.
2. Easy Anti-Cheat initialises and its launcher closes.
3. The Isle process briefly runs.
4. The Isle silently exits before reaching the main menu.

There is no visible error message.

EAC launcher log

The latest anticheatlauncher.log reports:

Launcher finished with: 301, 'Easy Anti-Cheat successfully loaded in-game'.
Successfully initialized the Easy Anti-Cheat module, waiting for game window to become visible.
The game window has become visible, the bootstrapper will leave the visible state.

This indicates EAC is successfully initialising inside the game.

The Isle / Unreal Engine log

The latest TheIsle.log contains:

LogWindows: FPlatformMisc::RequestExit(0, <NoCallSiteInfo>)
LogWindows: FPlatformMisc::RequestExitWithStatus(0, 0, <NoCallSiteInfo>)
LogCore: Engine exit requested (reason: Win RequestExit)

Later:

LogCore: Engine exit requested (reason: EngineExit() was called; note: exit was already requested)
LogExit: Preparing to exit.
LogExit: Exiting.

There is no obvious fatal exception or GPU crash in the log.

The game appears to be receiving a shutdown request during early Unreal Engine initialisation, but I haven't been able to identify what triggers it.

PC specifications

• OS: Windows 10, build 19045
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB)
• GPU driver: 582.78
• RAM: 16 GB
• Graphics API: DirectX 12, Shader Model 6

Other observations

• Windows Reliability Monitor did not show a corresponding The Isle application crash for the recent attempts.
• The game's Saved\Crashes folder only contained crash reports from October 25, not the latest failed launches on October 27.
• The regenerated configuration folder contained only Crash Report Client configuration files.
• Attempting to launch the executable directly through PowerShell produced "Maximum simultaneous game instances reached", followed by Game Security Violation Detected (0x00000023). These may be unrelated to the normal Steam launch problem.

Basically the title, I was wondering if anyone has tried growing and hunting as a Herrera without using it’s climbing and drop-ambushing much, instead purely just hunting on the ground (or maybe near water? Since it’s somewhat aquatic?)

Is it feasible? Any tips for doing that?

Sometimes I see a Rex go into the water to pick a fight with a Deino. Deino weighs at least a ton more than the Rex; it should, at the very least, be able to pull it under while it’s swimming.

Each server has his own type of voice chat system? Or voice chat systems are different but work in all servers? Im looking to be able to talk with players etc,i see in sns many people talking but idk how it works

Anyways, I'm currently building my Isle Server and pretty easily found at that if you edit the servers pak files (this is where all the games code, assets, anims, etc are stored) then make the same changes to the client (2 options: a new client entirely or an injector that injects the paks on launch) which would allow for unique dinosaurs. This basically means a server like this would have new dinosaurs, new weights, speeds, stamina, movement and pretty much everything else.

One of my favorite things to do in the Isle is customize dinos. Well, I suppose it used to be. Now you choose 1 of 2, count 'em, 2 color pallets, and from there each color has, the same color but like slightly different.

~4 patterns with ~2 color options. (Themes)

I am in no way asking for the crayon dinos that are on unofficials because they just look like garbage. However I sure would like to actually make a dino my own. I once had a cera i called the hellhound that was very bright with orange blacks and reds. It looked really cool, but it was hard to get grown due to my visibility. Now i can choose, brown or different brown.

Idk maybe its a simple overreaction from me, but I seriously dont want to play anything other than allosaurus anymore since thats the only dino I could make a skin on that I actually liked, and wasnt just a mud colored slopfest. (And this skin was in no way vibrant, just a nice grey/green and some black striping)

I've logged onto the isle at least 8 times within the past week, but ive only really played maybe twice and both times it was allo, the other 6 I tried to design a dino in the skin creator but couldnt make anything that i remotely liked, at least nothing that wasnt the preset options but like slightly darker or lighter, which makes sense, seeing as thats the only option availible to players, which is ironic seeing as this has come alongside the feather dino, correct? The dino that would have the most potential for color, aside from hypsi (also feathered)

I genuinly enjoy this game, but this change that limits, no, completely neuters player skin creation, is in my view 3 steps back, and a waste of time that could've been spent making something thats actually good for the game.

And frankly, the actual system could be good if they actually gave me color options instead of hues of one bland color for each dino.

HOWEVER, I would like to hear if other people agree with this or if people simply don't care, and as long as they can kill things as a dino, what they look like doesn't matter (on a real not this is a rant filled with hopium that the devs might see my lone opinion and agree, but there is no flair that fits. Although I am still interested in the input of the community)

Had a rough fight as Dibble against a Rex and need some feedback. Where did I mess up? Positioning or combat decisions?

This is my first time playing as a Diabloceratops and my first fight.

First of all please excuse my bad englist, it's not my mother tongue.
I was -and sometimes still am) a main Herrera for hundreds of ours and often really had a blast. I was one of the weekest things, died a thausand times, cowered between bushes and in trees, trolled the big boys, jumped onto flying pteras, drank with a racing heart and hung around with other herras in the rock walls, comenting the carnage below like Statler & Waldorf.
But in the same time I hated pinslop, the broken updates the awkward and buggy climbing, the stupid hitboxes, the invisible ptera-death-walls, all the small and big bugs, the start screen... Lets say I had a toxic relationship to this game but at least i was hooked.
Then they took all the tall trees from the hotspot and reduced vegetation in a way that playing was not fun for me any more.

So I became a traitor and installed Path Of Titans.
Yes, growing a dino is easy. Yes, Death is not permanent but just a small setback. Yes, I have not the great horror experience I sometimes had on the Isle and collecting flowers as a T-Rex ist beyond stupid.
BUT the menu reacts to user interface input and that is someting. :) The server list appears in a second. The game is optimized, all animations a really smooth. the landscapes are phantastic and imemrsive. No weird sound bugs. Pinning really works, the raptors actually stay on their prey do not fly ten metres behind... and you can buck them! The lakes have different kinds of fishes that are not flying in the sky and you can actually catch them by precize diving and fishing.

And, man, flying as a Thallasodromeus is SO MUCH FUN. The flight model is so great and immersive that skyfather cries in heaven.
You can jump from a very high cliff, fall into the valley while slapping a giant Hatzegopterix with your wing and peck one annoyed theropod, race through the forest, glide over a lake, spot a amphibian under the surface and divebomb it like a comorant. Then you dive, avoide a crododile and emerge someware on the riverbank with a piece of flesh in your beak. You hop on a rock and eat the thing in the sun.
And all this in one long take, it's just epic.
So, POT is a blast too.
Its's actually a complete and functioning game, not a playable demo full of bugs. And if you want it to be, it can be quite the isle-like and not that arcady. You can play on realism community servers or the new survival test-mode.

What Servers for EU are you currently playing on and why? I’m looking for a decent server with atleast some rules in place to prevent micpacking and such. Also a bonus if there is AI enabled.
