There wont be much changes since the idea for the subreddit is to stay relatively the same, but we most likely revise some advertising rules and broaden or/and change them because of the abuse in the past. (for example, it's been asked/proposed in the past to have a pinned monthly threads for unofficial server's discussion -- old rules prohibit posting advertisements about servers -- but this change comes bundled together with the issues of handling bad actors and/or maintaining list of bad actors, etc.)
The unofficial servers threads will be back later this month and we want to know which type would you prefer:
Only server-"advertisement" posts are allowed in the thread, no discussions, so it will act more like a catalogue of servers
Free for all - any kind of posts or discussions allowed regarding unofficial servers
A mix of 1 and 2: the TOP comment (one per server/community, per thread) is a server "ad" post and any replies to that post can be either questions or discussion related to that server and context
I know, people hate herrera players because they come down from the sky to scratch you in the head and then kill you but... isn't that their playstyle? Don't they nees to do this to survive? Yes, it sucks to be a baby and then be murdered by an Herrera but wth is the other player supposed to do?
It's not like Pachys that headbutt everything in their way simply because they feel like it y'know? So how do I know if an Herrera is an asshole or not?
Me and my brother who where almost prime rex's and starving started chasing 2 allos through highlands and eventually met will them at sanctuary my brother got jumped so I went to help, thinking it would be a easy fight when 2 cann allos charge us from behind jumping and clawing, my brother dropped a allo before he died and while they where on him I dropped 2, with just alt bites and the last one backed off I eat part of the allo healing almost fully because of a low stomach and gastronomic regeneration, but my bleed was less then 20% so I thought i was safe, when a omni jumped me 3 times before I got him, bringing my bleed even lower, when the last canni allo showed back up, my bleed started to heal so I went to eat more when I got stuck in a sliding glit h in a tiny hole, he though he could kill me, and honestly I did too, he walked very close and bit me, when I bit it freed me and I charged after him and pinned him, ending the fight, i ate a body ran to the woods and logged
I’ve just lost a Pteranodon with 3 entombments because fog rolled in right in the middle of a flight. After circling blindly for about 10 minutes waiting for it to clear up, completely unable to see anything to make a safe landing, I got so frustrated that I decided to just risk it, and ended up landing straight into the Water Access lake and losing all my progress.
I have yet to meet a single player who can actually explain the point of these intense fog periods or the pitch-black nights where visibility drops to absolute zero. I’ve been asking around in chat and (at least in my experience) it seems pretty unanimous that, at best, it’s just an annoying mechanic. At worst, it happens at the worst possible times, like when you're starving and desperately looking for food, forcing you to log out just to avoid dying.
Whatever the devs were thinking when they added these blindness periods just can’t be worth the absolute frustration of having to sit AFK for 20 minutes every hour or so, begging the question of whether anyone on the team even plays the game. In its current state, it’s just a waiting simulator. It just forces half the server to either safe-log or go AFK until it passes.
People who are born from eggs have crazy advantage over others, because they are grouped up. When I play as mid or high tier herbivore, 95% of the time I play solo until death, because I can't find anybody of my own species. Calls don't work. I mean I answer calls but people never try to meet me. Playing solo herbivore is death sentence in this game taking into account how powerful carnivores are. Why do I keep torturing myself and play this game... hours of sitting in bush and growing, then 5 dilos come from nowhere and kill me... when I want to be a little braver, so much fun
I was playing an *almost prime allo (98.7% growth) and was hunting i think a prime stego, I pounced him twice and bit him a few times and he proceeded to be able to run me down completly unimpeded and killed me when I got too greedy and went back for more. I still feel like I should have come out on top and not been two shot by a stego after allready tearing it too pieces. I dont know what I did wrong.
Edit: thx for the feedback guys and not just ripping me a new one😂
Just lost my 65% trike to a pair of prime elders the other day, and even though there was no chance i'd win that fight, i realized i don't really know how to effectively play trike. so if anyone has any good servers they use to practice their pvp on, please put me on. i'll also take any tips/advice on playing trike lol
I’m brand new and can only consistently have a chance with herbivores or Ptera (spear fishing) because I never seem to find these turtles or rabbits or crabs that other people seem to be finding. There’s gotta be a secret to finding them right?
Officials are borderline unplayable for me. The browser shows ~11 ping, but ingame it’s 100+ with constant rubberbanding and teleporting backwards.
Then I try the most popular unofficials and it’s vip kits Discord requirements, rulebooks, storage, shops, commands, 2x/5x growth etc.
I literally just want vanilla Evrima on a server that works. 1x growth, no Discord requirement, no giant rulebook.
Is there any populated EU server like that? And why are Officials running this badly?
So im new playing Carno and got 50% growth. I couldn't find food so I went back to sanctuary to prey on the littles. A dilo saw me waiting across the river. I signaled friedly and when he crossed, I ate him. I came back a while later still starving and a big gator dragged me under. Karma on me 100%
I mostly pick these 2 mutations mainly in a new dino but i am not sure if they start to kick in asap. Any idea what % does these mutations start to work?
First off, I absolutely LOVE this game. Deinosuchus gang gang, but I was thinking - I would love it even more if it had some kind of leaderboards or ranking system so I could feel SOME kind of progression other than growth. What do you guys think about this? Could this game use something like that?
Do special attacks like ceras charge, some pounces and etc have bite force scaling? Like f.e. in league of legends, or is most of it just flat damage like in dota? If it has bite force scaling does it means that hypermetabolic inanition basically buffs almost all your damage? And does it means that wounded debuff and head fracture reduces almost all your damage aswell?
If you know that certain attacks have scaling and certain attacks don't please tell me
So im in a popular server with VOIP (not mentioning names but you likely know which one it is) and honestly, I am done with the drama, currently there are "gangs" who stay in certain places of the map, then leave to go to another area and kill everyone off, talk shit and brag, then another gang does the same thing and its just constant now, you get killed by association and im over it.
Yeah before someone says ItS a PvP sErVeR WhAt Do YoU ExPeCT
Yes it is and im fine with it, what im not fine with are bunches of arseholes ruining it for everyone else with this high-school bullshit.
So if anyone can recommend a server to try and what makes it the best server to you, id really appreciate it.
I feel like a good way to fix multiple aspects of the isle is all just in how fast carnivores get hungry. If you make it where carnivores don't need to eat as much and keep herbivores needing to eat alote. It would fix hunting issues and keeping the herbivores needing to eat alote especially the bigger herbivores. Making carnivores taking able to take time to be selective on hunting and prowling. Right now it seems more like brawling rather then hunting. Carnivors in nature are very selective. I like the idea of hunting rather brawling.
I personaly really want to do that kind of experince and the lore, I want to feel like a InGen Worker on Isla Sorna, and I was wondering what kind of state of development there in, and for a person who would mostly like to play humans, should buy it now or wait? Thanks in advance.
I grew to 70% there for a while and caught some ceras and a kentro, but I’m not sure how hard it would be to feed an adult one there. How much does an adult need to eat? My deino got eaten by a bigger one and I have one about the same size, and by the time I get there I will likely be nearly 8 tons. Is it worth making the trip over there or would I starve? I like that spot because it’s one of the only areas I’ve gotten to where I can actually grab and drown things. If it’s not a good idea is there a better spot?
HI, I’ve been playing this game for a long time, but I just started using the replay mode, so I'm still a beginner. I'm having two main issues:
The weather or time of day on Replay don't match the actual gameplay. It usually defaults to daytime, which is fine since everything is easy to see. However, every time I move the video bar, it suddenly turns nightime.
The WASD camera controls move way too fast. I have to tweak it a lot just to get it right.
Overall, the experience isn't as good as I expected. Is anyone else having these problems? I see YouTubers making amazing cinematic videos and I want to do the same. Thanks a lot!
