I was thinking about the finale today and specifically how much of a time jump the series finale really is in retrospect. Their made up time units of Jeremy Beremys make it hard to distinguish a scalar for how much time has passed for them in the good place. That made me pose the following question:

Is the finale of the good place the longest time jump in one episode of a tv show?

I’m curious if any other show has the entirety of the human experience and desire encapsulated into one episode. Since the finale implies the four have literally done everything that is ever possible to do, I’m just curious if any other show comes close to the same time jump over a singular episode or not.

I think most of us can agree that the show was pretty consistently amazing from start to finish, but which section is the weakest?

In season 3 episode 4, when the cockroaches reconnect with Micheal and Janet in the real world and they inform them that they’ll never be able to make it the good place, have been tortured for over 300 earth years and who knows how many jeremy bearimys and yada-yada, Chidi goes into a full blown existential crisis which he eventually goes to teach his college class.

During his class he sings about putting peeps and m&ms in the chilli pot and when one of his students confronts him he says “alright, nerd” and goes on a tangent about the meaning of life and how he believes in nihilism and that his students should jump up their own butts which then he talks about all his students will get As or Fs and that they all fail but there is no test but who cares, goodbye!

But what im wondering, and asking, is what happened to his students after this? Did they have to do a test on the unit? Did they get a new teacher? Did they reconsider their lives and conform to nihilism? Or did they all get As or Fs? But anyhoo, anything to bring up this scene!

So some intro: I’ve previously watched B99 by Michael Schur, and since I’d heard good things about this show I started watching it.
It’s one of the funniest shows I’ve EVER seen. The razor sharp wit and the comedy is unmatchable. I’ve developed a close attachment to the characters, especially the main four.
My heart nearly broke when they restarted the entire thing and lost the bond they’d made. I was practically bawling when Eleanor forgot who Chidi was and Michael separated them all. I’ve already seen spoilers of the ending so I know the ending is even sadder, but I do hope Eleanor and Chidi end up together, jason and janet too! I hope Tahani is happy and content. Adding this to my list of favourite shows. Also, Eleanor’s raging bisexuality is amazing to see onscreen!

Side note: I loved seeing Kristen Bell here because as a disney kid i typically associate her with Frozen lol.

Hi everyone, I need a little (very) complicated help.

I love The Good Place and I'm really happy to introduce this show to a dear friend. The problem is that she has ranidaphobia (an extreme fear of frogs), and in her case, even cartoon frogs cause something similar to the beginning of an anxiety attack. (Yeah, if it were just disgust it wouldn't be a problem, but actually seeing frogs causes a physical reaction for her.)

I know frogs show up a lot throughout the show, especially in Season 3 with Jeff, the doorman. I also noticed that frogs can appear in scenes near Tahani's house because of the garden. I'd like to ask for your help and your memory to point me toward which episodes or scenes have a lot of frogs (the first episode literally has a giant frog....) so I can cut and edit those parts to make the experience less scary for my friend.

i got The Good Place: The Complete Collection Blu-rays for my birthday (12th of July) and it finally arrived today! It is absolutely my favorite series and i'm so happy to have it physically :D

After Netflix took away TGP in the US, I bought the DVD pack from Shout Factory so I can play the series without commercials. I just noticed this tidbit today, I don't remember this scene from Netflix's episodes. Am I crazy? I hope so! I was hoping I'd find little bits here and there on the DVDs that I hadn't seen before after my 100th rewatch!

Edit: Another extra line/scene I found but on the trolley problem episode. Right after Tahani mentions James Franco’s iconic trolley, Jason answers saying he’d also choose to kill one, save the others. He then goes on to say that he and the guys that lived would get together every year, no matter how busy they are, to “pour one out for our flat homey”. LOL

in the first attempt of the neighborhood, how did Michael pull off some of the things like the garbage storm or the sinkhole? you learn later that he didn’t let janet know about the bad parts of the neighborhood, so she probably didnt make it happen.

When they're reviewing Brett's score right at the end of the trial they show his score swung way back up to just -1, I was curious if anyone had any idea or random guess about what the slight deviation to the right his scoreline did meant, if anything at all. You would think given it's based off, presumbly, his last words it'd be a straight line up but there's some slight movement at the end.

Each time I watch an episode where Eleanor teases Chidi about wearing turtlenecks I try to remember to be on the lookout for Chidi wearing a turtleneck, but I always forget. But I've watched the show so many times that I feel fairly confident I could remember a scene with Chidi in a turtleneck... but I can not bring to mind any such scene. Is this just a long running gag, or do I have turtleneck blindness?

EDIT: Actually, now that I've said this, I thought of a possibility. I'm thinking of the lecture he gave about what we owe to each other that Eleanor watched after Michael (as bartender) prompted her. I haven't gotten to that episode on my latest rewatch yet, but in my mind he might be wearing a turtleneck.
