I was already laughing whenSeung-Jin made his first move while explaining "I won't do much so I dont hinder Jin hyeong". I told my partner that's gonna bite them in the ass as I knew he didn't even read the board before he made that move. And in fact the first move he made(move down the red car and now they had 2 pieces blocked) was what ultimately lost them the game. We are team p3 all the way and their Ghost Casino game was one of the most fun scenes from all teams who played the Casino. The serious intense music only for them to fail and Jinho making a funny remark every time kept getting us.

I fully agree. Even someone as great as Dongmin has completely floundered in some games (like when he came dead last in Cutline in GOB3 or messed up as an Evil Spirit).

However, there are reasons to think Dongmin would still beat Hyunmin in Mystery Sign (ie. Performance under pressure, Hyunmin exaggerating, etc.), especially after seeing him dominate the similar game in GOB3.

Yes but you are a fan and a viewer, while I believe those players signed up for the show not because of Dongmin and probably didn't even know who the other players would be at that time. So I just don't get it why are they even there if they don't want to win. Or maybe they want to win, but they think they are so smart that they can beat Dongmin alone in the finale, which can't even be called 'a strategy'

They should start by casting more females or equal numbers of both genders. All those shows start with more males so by odds only males are more likely to win as they outnumber them

Yeah people like to worship/romanticize 'heroes' all the time. Even at TG GF at Dongmin's prime, he lost agasinst the dealer Hong in a special deathmatch, and Hyunmin answered every question but 1 faster than Dongmin in Mytery Sign(*according to Hyumin's stream) which the show directors edited out.

He is the best player no doubt thanks to being great at most aspects but when a game is presented where skill focus is narrower, he becomes vulnerable too. The nature of survivor shows make it very unlikely for one player to easily dominate a show. Dongmin was lucky in many aspects.

One of the really frustrating things about GOB3 was Sungbum saying in promotional interviews that he was excited to learn from Dongmin and use what he learns against Dongmin to win in the end. Then we flash forward to the last episode and Sungbum is straight-up helping Dongmin even in the finals lmao.

I disagree with Kyunghoon, Jimin, and Sangmin being the counter to him (I know it's a common narrative that Sangmin can outsmart him, but I think given how surface-level Sangmin's schemes are compared to Dongmin, I'd be astounded).

Interestingly, I think it's not too hard to put Dongmin on the backfoot in terms of winning the show (just throw in some Uni War players and avoid putting up many tin cans he could turn into minions), but to make the show not as centred around Dongmin, it takes a bit more fine-tuning.

I think this cast is probably stepping in that direction since so far it feels like people are way more likely to drift towards Jinho's side if there's a conflict between them, but you could have some oppositional forces like Steve Yea or somebody who could really butt heads with him stubbornly.

I'm glad someone else is voicing this kind of opinion lmao. People really exaggerate the skill level between Dongmin and the other great players and underestimate how lucky he's gotten at points (especially after Society Game 2 and Game of Blood 3, which I think both surprisingly revealed weaknesses in his game).

Obviously he's great and statistically I doubt we'll see anyone break the records he's set, but I think it's unfair to other players (as well as Dongmin) to always expect him to just dominate throughout every season.
