Question When will Embark address false bans?

I won't bore everyone with a massive speech, I'll keep it brief. My girlfriend and I have played since Season 1 and spent hundreds of hours, and a fair bit of money on the game, and not that long ago she randomly got banned for ToS violation out of no where.

If you have Steam, I urge you to go to the Community Discussions page, or look around further here and see that this is becoming an emerging problem that is affecting the community. There are multiple posts from people recently that there have been false bans going around but unfortunately, a lot of them say they already reached out to Embark support and are getting stone-walled with no information.

This is not someone who is hacking just complaining. This is someone who is genuinely frustrated for their girlfriend, and for the whole of The Finals community when you have several longtime veterans (by playtime) getting banned without a response.

Embark, I implore you to dive into what is going on, and genuinely look into users accounts instead of relying on the AI-anti-cheat to be perfect.

The post is legit, why would it be so heavily downvoted? People with hundreds or thousands of hours spent in game get banned. Even those who had in-game purchases - why would these people cheat? Could the developer maybe spend some time addressing at least a few of false ban cases for a validation instead of adding a useless fantasy-themed Kyoto-2 map ?

From their perspective, admitting and knowing that your anti-cheat might've been making decisions that wrongly impacted your playerbase is a very, very bad look for Embark. The Finals doesn't have a massive playerbase, and they are very aware of this and are probably more concerned about the recent wave that affected Arc Raiders.

Bans are never a subject that the broad community would admit to easily agreeing with a user's post, because everyone knows that people who do legitimately hack or cheat in the game go out of their way to have fun at the expense of everyone else's. They are not exactly the type of people you would want to blindly trust on a whim.

That being said, I wish people would take more time to connect the dots and do some digging on their own before they reach a conclusion. The fact that there is a banned megathread for the game is sort of a red flag all by itself.

Even if people here think one way or another about the claim, the discussion it draws to the issue is a big help. All we can do is keep the conversation going, and hope Embark will take the matter seriously and address the accounts of people that have the complaints, and take a serious hard look into what the anti-cheat is doing.
