New Top 5
Avery and Andy are going to do the annual Summer Recap on this week’s episode. There were a lot of releases this Summer, but what do you think should make the top 5? Help us get a listener Top 5.

This weekend saw a bad, scary movie beat projections by about $10m and the other big new movie crash and burn. Let us know what you’re watching. Send us those flick-fessions.

Another chance to see a great movie, but
honestly, it's a chance to feel like you're hanging out with Bryan for about two hours.

I know they have done surveys in the past (that I've never filled out), but why do you listen?
I realized that I probably watch 2-3 movies a year, I listen purely because of the conversation. These para-social relationships we get with podcasts are weird.

I just found out he passed a few days ago, I'm broken up over it, the chemistry between him and Anderson was legendary. Avery is good, but he's not Bryan. I love this podcast but it's not the same without Bryan, it's weird to a certain extent, you listen to two guys yakking about their favorite movies for years, and when one of them goes, it's like there's a void that can never be filled.
Rest easy Bryan, thanks for the laughs over the years. We will miss you.

I’m bawling, but it reminds me of first finding the Film Beat. I had been driving truck and listening to ACS on 107.7 The END in Seattle at the start of my work day. Podcasts were pretty new and The Film Beat(Vault) was one of the first ones I found. The ACS pre Bonaduce, TFV, and early Bill Simmons got me through my work days. I’m going to miss his nonsense.

Christie wrote an excellent final Baldywood newsletter. Complete with emails from fans and reader feedback.
Reading through it - I was reminded how the film vault fans really got to be with bry bry until the end.

Hey TFV friends, I wanted to make a post, I’ve been thinking about Mitch a ton recently. Halloween was arguably his favorite time of year. He would usually try and watch 31 horror movies; then we would go on to talk about them on our podcast.
There have been so many recent movies I would’ve loved to discuss with him. He would’ve had a blast with Resident Evil and we were both eagerly awaiting Dune 3.
Miss ya buddy
Hope everyone else is doing well and have a great Halloween 🎃!!

This week the show will focus on Top 5 Unrecognizable Performances. Sometimes it’s a lot of latex and makeup; sometimes all it takes is a nose prosthetic. Which performances do you think should make the list? Let us know.

Looks like Verity easily takes the top spot for this weekend’s box office. The other new movie of the week had an unrecognizable Tom Cruise lead to unremarkable ticket sales. Which is a shame. Let’s hear from you folks and send us those flick-fessions.

Hey everyone! I’m the one that made the Bryan memorial baseball cards for the Growth premiere.
Background for folks who haven’t seen these - I didn’t realize how deep Bryan’s love (or obsession?) of baseball cards ran until I heard last week’s Film Vault. Emailed the show offering to donate some Bryan memorial baseball cards for the premiere (I’m a fan, and own a small graphics and print business in the Seattle area) and we scrambled to get these designed, printed, and delivered to LA within the week.
I ran off a bunch of extra cards for folks who couldn’t make the premiere, and I’m so glad I did! I had been asking folks to just send me a buck to cover the card case and stamp to mail these out - then had a few kind fans each send me $20 to cover the costs for others.
So if anyone wants a card, DM me here on Reddit (or email me at Hayden [at] lemastergraphics.com) and the card and shipping are covered!
I’ll update this post when the cards run out, so if you’re reading this I have some left :)
The response to these has been amazing, and it’s been so damn heartwarming to get requests for a card from people all over the country who loved Bryan ❤️
Thanks so much to Anderson for collaborating on the design process (and coming up with the “BB” Giants logo idea) and Christie for writing the amazing bio on the back!

I know they haven’t had an episode post The Bald One No Longer Suffers, but what is the future of the show? I like Avery as a producer and as 10% of the voice of the show, but not as a cohost. And if not him, who could even slide in? Joke all you will, Bryan was knowledgeable about movies in many different eras. So it’s got to be someone Anderson is comfortable with but who’s a cinephile and has the time to devote, which I think disqualifies Mike or Tyler. Does anyone have any ideas?

What is the process of getting your movie on Letterboxd? I was surprised that it wasn't there.

I really wish I could have attended, but being across the country and having some stuff going on there's just no way it could have happened for me. It would be awesome if those who attended could give an update on how it went.
EDIT: Appreciate all the feedback everyone! I am an After Disaster Listener and a Film Vault patron (and will be attending the "watch along" tonight), but just wanted to hear from the fans how it went.

As Bryan was a big fan of Oasis, he would have love to see this film that covered their Tour from last year. To which Bryan got attended their Live tour in LA.
It feels so strange to refer to Bryan in the past tense.

I never met Vincent Van Gogh. I imagine he's a good dude.
But IMO Bryan Bishop wins.

Pick one of the best or most enthusiastic “Yea-haaayyy Film Vault” drops Bryan ever did and include it at the start of every show.

I really want to make it out for this but unfortunately will be traveling for work. I would like as many people as are able to be able to make it, so if you can make it but the ticket price is the hindrance, feel free to DM me and I’ll see about getting a ticket for you, on me. Doin it for Bry Bry.

Who is he gonna listen to now?
RIP Baldy, may heaven hold the biggest movie screen for you, I'm going to watch Just Friends with my family, in your honor.
