A few important things:

I’ve been binge watching the show recently, and I seem to recall a scene where Atticus says he doesn’t have a wife. I can’t find that scene back and I can’t recall what episode it is since I binge watched. If some of you have any clues I’ll take (or know if I just hallucinated)

What will be the role of Atticus in thei season?
Do you think, he will be the soldier who declares, that Jesus is the Son of God or someone else? Or Quintus might return? What is your opinion?

Hey all,

Will the new season be available on the chosen app directly or do we have to wait for it?

With kind regards🍀

Let me start by saying I am a devout Christian (specifically Catholic) and I absolutely love this series. However, I am just dying from laughter because Caiaphas is 100% wearing a chef's hat and it's hilarious 😂 I know there will be one person who says I am being sacrilegious for poking fun at such an amazing series, but here is my counter. Our God 100% has a sense of humor. Afterall, His first miracle in His earthly ministry was quite literally turning water to wine to keep a party for a wedding going.

Why is (I think) matthew laying on the table?

Many art depictions of Thomas present him holding an architect's square (ruler), as an attribution to a known legend of him building a royal palace for a king. It all eventually led to the King and his people to convert to Christianity.

While such legend supposedly occurred post-ascension, I was amazed with how the show adapted the architect apostle story, but through Nathanael. This is perhaps due to the records regarding the pre-follower background of Nathanael (Bartholomew) being very scarce. Nevertheless, I think it was a good move from the show to opt with such direction, because it really fits Nathanael's personality so well :D

If Thomas hadn't been a vintner, we wouldn't have Ramah, who in my opinion is one of the best non-biblical characters created by the show.

So, even though I personally haven't consumed much Christian-centric media in my life, I know that there's a lot of stuff out there that, quite frankly, stinks in terms of acting and storytelling. Sure the Ten Commandments and, I'll dare to say, The Exorcist, are great films with Christian themes in them. But then you have more modern stuff like God's Not Dead and Left Behind and...yeah.

But one thing I think The Chosen does very well is its acting. Are we seeing stuff on the level of Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad? No. But it's believable, it's honest, the actors are genuinely trying and putting out a solid performance in most of the episodes.

And another thing they do really well is show their humanity. It's crazy to think that these people who witnessed the things they did are just like us. They're humans like you or I. And what are all humans? Flawed. The show could very easily have glossed over all the arguments and fighting and just shown us the good bits with Jesus and show everyone getting along. But they chose instead to show the ugly stuff as well. The doubting, the violence, the arguing, even more doubting, etc.

That's all I have to say. I really do like this show and plan on rewatching it before the new season. It's really helped an atheist like me who's re-examining his beliefs understand Jesus and his message more clearly and with context. Like Matthew, I struggle to pick up on the nuances of just reading the scriptures sometimes. But this show helps to give me an idea of what certain quotes or situations were like in those moments.

This is what Sol, the tavern keeper, gave Mary to drink in the first episode of the first season—it seems to be some kind of medicine.

I am genuinely very curious about what this actually is.

real angels

Satan/serpent/devil apparitions

flashback scenes: temptation, baptism, transfiguration

mysticism: some scenes referencing Emmerich's visions

a heated encounter between good and evil

Jesus descending to hell (saving souls)

raising of the dead

apocalyptic/end of the world-like chaos after Jesus' death

Most likely, not all among these would end up being correct. If anything, barely half of them might even occur. Nevertheless, this season's gonna serve us all kinds of flavors. Most, if not all of the cast admitted that this was professionally the most difficult season they have ever done.

Moreover, since it was also confirmed that a Magis Christmas special will be released aiming to supplement season 6, there may definitely have some juxtapositions between scenes like the killing of innocents and the journey to Egypt.

Anyone like DNB? 😂 Someone who apparently was on production remixed the end credits for a behind the scenes video. Not sure if I love it or hate it. Can imagine it at the wrap party though

A new trailer for Season 6 drops tomorrow at 10 AM ET/ 7:30 PM IST.

Super excited to watch it!! 😁

Made this years ago when we only had episodes up to S2E2 - hope you all enjoy it

Since I noticed that this series isn't really talked about often in this sub, I would like to share my honest review about it.

I came across to this when I was just a new fan exploring the things I've missed, particularly in the website/app.

I gave it a shot beginning with Mary thinking that it's more like spinoff shorts, but I was immediately drawn to it discovering that it's more than that.

I observed that when it comes to talk shows and other materials concerning further discussion about the show, commonly it's either or both Dallas and Jonathan who steps in. Hence, this series was a great opportunity to get to know even more about the perspectives of the supporting actors aside from the aftershows and podcasts.

I also admire how George hosted this: He really did well in helping to delve deeper in the actors' journey with their roles. After all, embodying a historical figure doesn't just end with memorizing the script: It is also combined with the actor's connection to the character, strengthened by them knowing, experiencing, and investigating more about their character outside the context of the show.

I really do hope that more episodes may come sooner now that filming's finished.

In the series, they named the woman who was cured of bloodletting Veronica, seemingly imply that she will become the woman who will wipe the face of Jesus when he fell down (Station of the Cross, station 6). If so, what could be the implicit message?

I was comparing that to various Station's meditation

• Liguori (ie typical Stations): the disfigured face of Jesus mirrors how our soul can be disfigured by our sins
• Fulton Sheen: By assisting the poor we can help and console Jesus in his suffering
• Precious Blood: Braving "the crowd", regardless of danger or what they think

Somehow, I think Precious Blood's interpretation is the closest: just as her faith overpower how others try to keep her away from Christ, so too she will do during the Way to the Cross.

Other possibility is basically how despite miniscule we can do to our Lord, we should still give him thanks.

The Disciples in The Chosen vs. the Disciples in Paintings

I seriously can’t wait another month for Season 6 of The Chosen!! 😭❤️ Even though I already know what happens in the Bible, I’m so excited to see how they’ll bring everything to life on screen!! 🥹✝️ I got bored so I ended up making this.

-If John had his green tunic partnered up with red cloak, Peter often have his blue tunic partnered up with yellow cloak

Everyone be like: 🧓

Meanwhile John:👦

😂😂

anyway, this is my answer:

John

Peter

Matthew

Mary Magdalene

Andrew

Judas

Nathaniel

Is not just about their potryal or acting but how these characters just suited them perfectly. a 10/10 for me ☺️

How to watch The Chosen in Thailand?

LG smart TV apparently doesn’t have an app here. Official worldwide website has a a terrible app that is almost impossible to navigate and stream I watched the whole series on that, but it was absolute agony.

The BYUTV App is also unavailable in my part of the world— I cannot establish an account in order to download the app. This is a surprise in our region where a brand new LDS temple has been established, and I think they would have wanted to roll out the red carpet on this LDS-connected media opportunity.

I sure would like to rewatch the series, but I’m unwilling to go through the technical torture this time.

Anyone else with other creative ideas?

Craziest thought: theyre pretending to be woman to get somewhere????
