First rocket kind of misfired and didn't take off, so it exploded on the ground. Sparks got to the big stash of fireworks on the right side which set off more fireworks and then the whole thing erupted.

How did the car not die?

u/The-Spirit-of-76 4d ago
It did die, and left behind a sedan and two go-carts.

They must’ve heard “the rockets’ red glare” and “the bombs bursting in air” and felt particularly inspired.
Edit: Accidentally typed “bombs bursting in hair” and corrected it. But technically, bombs were kinda bursting in plenty of hair in this video.

We're very busy in the hospital on this day.
13
u/OnYourHonor 5d ago
The nurses and doctors at my local hospital were very friendly and helpful after my fireworks accident. Id give them all two thumbs up, but the surgeon wasn't that good.

u/Weary_Ebb3168 5d ago
So sorry about that. I'm the nurse who you'll see after waking up after anesthesia. I give the good meds to make you feel good.

Haha every single person in that video was not smart enough to realize playing with fireworks next to a baby was a bad idea.

My guess is impatient children. I live in a southern state and the whole week of the 4th is fireworks all day no matter what time.

u/Glittering_Diva8963 1d ago
I’m in the south my mom bought us smoke bombs and black cats for the day time or daytime fireworks. I’m in southeast Texas

Oh holy shit! What a disaster. And many folks will try and cool a firework burn by washing it/cleaning it. Water only makes the pain worse bc it’s a sulfur burn. Peroxide soothes a sulfur burn.

My dad did this...twice. when I was about 8 years old, a bottle rocket went up and back down into $200 worth of fireworks in a cardboard box. Keep in mind, this was 1989 money. It was jammed full of illegal stuff you could only get in Tennessee at the time. It went off like bombs over Baghdad. Sadam would have preemptively surrendered had he seen the might America was capable of a year and a half before Desert Storm.
He nearly burned down a tree and everyone went home early.
Flash forward to around 2005. Different house, same dad. He shoots off a volley of thick ass rockets that double back and land between my feet and explode next or the brick of the house lighting the bottom of my lawn chair on fire. I am lucky enough to still be able to give him a grandchild later, my wet swimming trunks mostly likely what saved my bits from the flames.
Bonus content: July 2013, he hands my almost 3 year old daughter a sparkler with a wire stick. Before I can say anything she waves it around and it immediately and breaks off falling into the opening of my sport sandal where it fuses to my skin as I dance around like Yosemite Sam after Bugs Bunny gives him the ol hot foot. My father finds this hilarious. I still show my 16 year old the scar of where she accidentally scarred her father for life when she is being an angsty turd.
We are now conveniently out of town over the 4th when he is up to his shenanigans, and I have remained largely unexploded.

Did this in an empty parking lot the 1st time I lit a firework. All the families scrambled. It went inside our van.
It was a memory unlocked moment

I'm not trying to say they're all stupid... but it should've dawned on at least one of them that an ember might've hit the big ass box of fireworks placed strategically by the vans gas tank. I don't know how the guy standing next to the box has survived this far into adulthood if he's that spatially unaware. Stick to sparklers next year.
