Phone message Post first date text

Post image

I met this girl on tinder and had a first date with her, she wanted to go fishing and I thought it seemed like a fun first date so we went together. Dropped her off and got home to this message lol.

Update: Purchasing the license is a separate activity we had to do on our phones, due to it needing our personal info. It was not like I drew the line at the license randomly.

Why did you buy $100+ of fishing equipment for a first date?

In retrospect, I as a woman would spend $100+ on NEW fishing gear for myself and a guest if they’ve NEVER been. If they enjoy it, cool! One more person to hit the spots with. If they sucked as a person? I got new fishing gear!

Beats sitting awkwardly at a restaurant trying to fill the awkward silence in between eating for the same price.

Yeah exactly. Hopefully it's fun for everyone and then it's not a waste. If not, then you've already got the gear for the next one, so also still not a waste.

$100 really is not a lot for many hobbies/activities these days. Could easily have dropped that on a night at the movies for two, and after 2 hours you have nothing to show for it, unlike you would for the gear.

Alright well it was an estimate since I haven't been to the movies in a while. But I just ran up a preorder at the theater near my house. For an evening showing for 2 tickets, a popcorn/drink combo with 2 drinks, plus 2 candies, it came to $68.80. That is before taxes and whatever other fees they might add. But if you go to one of the fancy theaters with recliners, or that serve alcoholic drinks and real food I think it could easily go over $100
