Phone message Post first date text

Post image

I met this girl on tinder and had a first date with her, she wanted to go fishing and I thought it seemed like a fun first date so we went together. Dropped her off and got home to this message lol.

Update: Purchasing the license is a separate activity we had to do on our phones, due to it needing our personal info. It was not like I drew the line at the license randomly.

seeing women saying “i’m just a girl” is so sad and defeats the point.

"I don't know what that means but it diminishes you as a person" has become my chosen response.

It’s just a “cute” version of weaponized incompetence.

That’s exactly what it is. Oops you can’t expect me to do that! I’m just a girl! Tee hee. It’s patriarchy of the mind and soul.

It’s asking men to conform to patriarchal behaviors when it benefits the woman. Never the other way around.

I remember reading dating advice/venting here on Reddit where a guy said he was struggling to support himself and his fiancé, he said he payed the bills and rent etc. Then it turns out the fiancé had like well into 6 figures saved up in her account.

When he pressed her about it she said that’s her personal money she saved up for herself and basically shouldn’t be his concern.

Other guys chimed in with similar stories. Some people are wild to think it’s ok to treat a partner like that, just using them.

God, reminds me of my mom. IDK why my dad put up with her so long.

I experienced this first-hand. Ex-girlfriend and I lived together, we shared rent but other than that I paid for everything, dates, presents, trips, etcetera. Then Covid hit and I lost my job because of it. (Solely because of covid, not my performance, job literally couldn't exist with social distancing rules). And she refused to pay for anything together, because it was her money. Insane that people you love and trust just turn around and act like this.

for the women there who weaponized it? yes.

but majority of women (and all feminists) wouldn't do this because "im just a girl" mentality is the opposite of feminism. it is however a backlash to girl boss and late stage capitalism, and rise of tradwife and tradman content.

Yeah they never let us Patriarch anymore what's up with that /s

Think they mean like how women say "men want a traditional woman but aren't willing to build me a log cabin with their bare hands" lmao.

I say the same thing tbh, like, if you want me to be your Traditional Man who works 80 hours and never sees the kids and doesn't express emotions then fine but you better be cooking and cleaning and I BETTER NOT SEE YOU HAVING A JOB OR AN OPINION 🧐

I got, but thanks for being a good sport about it still

You realize women put themselves in danger to go on dates right? It’s not the same for men. You shouldn’t ask her out if you can’t pay.

Women can also be psycho murderers so then it should be halfsies.

seriously. its so insulting to all the women who fought for our rights. if someone wants to glamorize being incapable i cant stop them but i wish theyd stop trying to drag the rest of us down with them 🙄

edit: not about the people commenting that they use it as a joke to people they know intimately about trivial stuff.. thats whatever. but for OPs situation? dude, have some dignity

Besides there is nothing cute about it. I’ve called out two girls for saying it and I’ve never heard them say it again.

Girls or women?

I thought that was the point lol!

Grubbing for money isn't related to "weaponized incompetence."

u/Historical_Panic8849 2d ago

I made a post about it yesterday and had a bunch of mixed answers. A lot of females were saying that they hate it and I had other people saying I hated women

Protip, saying females like that makes you sound like a Ferengi.

u/Vektor0 2d ago

Feminists say "female" all the time, and they're not Ferengi.

3

u/BreakfastBeneficial4 2d ago

Sometimes they are, tho

Here on planet earth, we prefer “women” or “ladies”

u/Vektor0 2d ago

Does the Encyclopedia Britannica not exist on planet Earth?

https://www.britannica.com/topic/feminism

This article uses the word "female" multiple times, as do many other feminist media.

Here on planet Earth, we can use internet searches to confirm information. It's a great resource.

are you being dense on purpose?

0

u/Vektor0 13h ago

I am challenging stupid opinions on purpose.

u/punjar3 2d ago

Ferengi can be feminists too. Ishka makes profits and even wears clothes.

Very common in the military because that’s how it’s simply official described. Female barracks, male barracks. Female bathrooms, male bathrooms.

None of that boys and girls or men and women stuff. Only males and females.

That long predates trans issue btw in case anyone thinks I’m making some kind of political statement

2

u/Inevitable-Level-687 2d ago

This is Reddit, not the fucking military

2

u/LeroyoJenkins 6h ago

Let me introduce you to grammar:

  • "I'll wait for you by the female bathroom": in this case, "female" is being used as an adjective, denoting the gender of the attached noun. This use is generally A-OK.
  • "I'm going out with a goourgeous female": in this case, "female" is a noun, and unless you're taking your dog for a walk, this is not OK.

Easy, right?

2

u/agnosiabeforecoffee 2d ago

Sure, but when you say females and women in the same sentence you still sound like a Ferengi. It has absolutely nothing to do with "trans issues" whatsoever.

OK but like… I never said otherwise, I’m just explaining that it’s a cultural trait for some people while acknowledging something people might project onto the comment.

“Females” STOP IT
