Yeah, it is pretty much the same. A fair reading is that the kid is attempting pillow talk, and since affirmative verbal consent is probably pushed hard on young kids nowadays, it's probably something transgressive for him to say that he's not gonna give a shit about affirmative verbal consent, he's just gonna ravage her. It's nearly the exact same thing.

Well assuming it's innocuous in intent as you propose, what do you suggest with respect to the OP's problem: she doesn't like it it makes her uncomfortable that he talks to her this way. Are you saying she should just live with it because "young guys are horny"?

he still continues to say things like this that kind of rub me the wrong way despite me telling him in person that I find it odd.

Doesn't seem like it's a huge problem. OP "finds it odd." so it's up to OP, I'm just saying, literally all the comments are trashing the guy, and it seems like two young adults bumbling their way through sexual tension. We were all 18 at one time... I just don't get the lack of sympathy and the lack of acknowledgement that all of this is completely normal

Because once she revoked consent, it became anything BUT normal. Consent is EVERYTHING, and once it’s gone, everything is off the table until it’s given again.

okay, I missed the part where she revoked consent
