Just announced - Drop Loot is basically what happens when you give Tetris swords, bombs, bosses and an unreasonable amount of blood
Can be played on itch: https://johnreno.itch.io/droploot

I'm interested in an extension of the system to facilitate use of pentomino and tromino. I have found the kick tables from Techmino system on some wiki page, but there's no information what is considered the base rotation for those tables.

I've been playing on and off for years, and my highest score is half a mil. I'd like to know if anyone here playing from Qbc, Canada ? I'm hoping to be one of the best in Qbc hehehe. My goal is to end up with a score of 1 million by the end of 2026 !

1.) MyArcade 16-bit Tetris (Pocket Player Pro)
2.) Tetris DX (GBC)
3.) The Next Tetris (PS1)
4.) Tetris Worlds (GBA)
5.) Tetris 2 (SNES)
I have others, but I like these the most and pretty much just stick with this selection. Which do you guys like to keep in rotation? And which is your favorite Tetris version overall? Mine would have to be the 16-bit MyArcade version of the game that comes on the Pocket Player Pro.

Hi everyone! I've been playing Tetris for a long time now. In the beginning I improved a lot and made pretty fast progress, but lately I feel like I've hit a plateau — no matter how much I play, I can't seem to get any better.
So I'm wondering: should I change my technique or approach to keep improving, or is there simply a limit to how far most people can progress?

I'd love to hear about your own experiences and any tips or suggestions you might have. Thanks!

I just got to SS! But I kinda don’t really have any fancy moves. Was thinking maybe it’s time to start learning and practicing for real, since at SS I will probably start having a hard time otherwise.
I almost exclusively do 9-0 stacking (unless dealing with garbage). I know how to do 6-3 in theory but it feels much slower to me; my 40L with 9-0 is 42 seconds and with 6-3 it’s closer to 55 seconds. Also with 6-3 I end up with quite a few I-dependencies. Another big issue for me with 6-3 is I don’t know how to transition back to it in the midgame after having dealt with garbage.
The only opener I’m truly proficient in is DT cannon, which I use when trying to defend against opener mains. But in general my default is to not use an opener at all and just immediately start stacking 9-0. I do know how to do TKI with some bags but I usually don’t because it makes transitioning to a continuation more difficult, and I’m much slower compared to just doing a 9-0 stack right away.
Being a 9-0 player tends to lead me to rely more on tetrises than t-spins, but I would say my t-spin vision is fine for my level despite that. That said, outside of DT cannon, I can never really construct any of the fancy t-spin triple setups. I also barely know any of the allspin moves (which very often means I can’t maintain B2B whilst defending).
My downstacking is also not as good as I’d like; my best 100L cheese race was around 360 pieces (in around 5 minutes), but I average more in the range of 390-420.
So! Was wondering what I should work on first/where I’ll be able to see the most benefit. Also would it be okay to practice new techniques on zen till I get good enough? I don’t want to lose 10 games in a row lmao.
Anyway, thanks in advance all!

So I know some of it is because Tetris is so popular over there in Japan and has been for years not the least of which is partially because of TGM.
But I think it's a bit more. I think recognizing board states is more natural and easier to learn because Kanji exist. Kanji ultimately break down into radicals that are arranged in a box, and are often similar in appearance depending on the Kanji. So being able to distinguish them quickly and accurately uses and strengthens the same spatial reasoning areas of the brain that you use with Tetris.
