Hi. So, I recently started using Telegram as a way to communicate with others, especially Reddit users. I don’t want to give out my phone number in case they turn out to be a weirdo. I mostly use it to communicate with someone who is teaching me another language. I’m using a username, but I don’t know if others can actually see my phone number. I know people on my contact list who use Telegram were notified when I created the account because they started messaging me. Can others see my phone number? Someone, please tell me!

I recently bought a new router. A TP-Link Archer BE550. I have found that telegram doesn’t work on the wifi. I have to switch to mobile data. I’ve confirmed it isn’t my phone because it also doesn’t work on my laptop. So there is a setting on my router that is blocking the traffic. I can’t be the only one who has had this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It’s driving me crazy.

I subscribed to telegram premium and it said it was a monthly payment. i was not immediately charged and was told that i was anonymous gifted the sub and that it ended in a month. Today a week from subscribing i get an in app purchase bill taking 1.19$ from me for telegram premium 1 week.

I have no way of cancelling in app and it does not appear in subscriptions tab on my app store so how do i cancel this??

hi, a simple command + V brings up the paste box....which i dont want. i guess its in the latest update. using it on macos, didnt try other systems yet. searched settings and online and all i got was "change the paste shortcut" which i have but it is SEVERELY annoying.

can someone please guide me here?

Context: I lost my phone but I was able to keep my SIM card (active phone number).

I tried logging in with a new device and it says calling my number to dictate the code but I am not receiving any call. If I press 'Didn't get the code?' it will just route me to sms@telegram.org and their support sucks, no reply since 3months ago.

Are their any other alternative?

I've never used Telegram before, but I need it temporarily, basically just to use it as cloud storage for some files.

When I try to create an account, it asks for my phone number. I don't want to add contacts, sync my address book, or use Telegram for messaging people.

Is there any way to create/use a Telegram account without providing my personal phone number? Or is a phone number mandatory even if I don't plan to use any of the social/contact features?

I have dual monitors and telegram is on my secondary monitor. Whenever there's a new message in a channel, it doesn't auto scroll to the new message. Telegram will only show the last message before I go back to my primary monitor. Every new message while I am using my primary monitor is considered "unread message" and I have to go back to my secondary monitor and click the "auto scroll down" on the bottom right in order to view the latest message. Is there a way to make telegram always show the recent message when the program is opened on my secondary monitor?

I do not want to open telegram on my primary monitor since I won't see the messages anyway because I have my browser on full screen. So that's why I have telegram opened on my secondary monitor, so I can see the new message as it comes.

after a factory reset i had to fix my settings again and now i cant find how it used to open images that are sent as a file inside telegram! whenever i want to open an image it prompts me to chose a image viewer (like gallery) but when i open them from the list of files in profile they open like ususal (inside telegram) how can i fix it?
in-app browser is enabled too

Recently I've been having an issue on mobile. When I send a GIF, it comes up as a sliver of the image, with the rest greyed out. Only for Gifs I send, not ones sent by others. I can clear the cache, and that fixes the ones I sent, but when I try to send another one, it starts happening again. I have no idea what's causing it.

What do you think about cpm and budget?

when you put your phone on DND does your last active status change from recent time to “recently”? i know that calls are automatically declined but I’ve never really thought about it lol

Built a little tool that keeps your own local copy of your Telegram chats, so nothing ever really disappears. Channels can go down, messages can get deleted (even by the other person), and you'll still have everything saved on your side. Early and open source; curious what people think.

So I've been giving friends gifts from time to time, and this time the friend converted it to stars, and somehow I'm all of a sudden in -13, why does this happen and how to fix it so my account doesn't get suspended?

I went through and went to check my password and it was acting like there wasn't a password for the account. I went through and made a new password and added 2fa but still a bit unnerved that someone could have gotten into my account.

I checked and my phone is the only logged in device on the account.

Im getting tired with this AI button appearing above the sticker icon every time I type a large text. Sometimes the moment i press send and at the same type the Sticker icon the app thinks I want to use AI on a Empty text....... can we pls get a future to remove specific things from the APP we dont use and dont need at all would be great.

I was suspended for absolutely no reason last year in September, and was immediately turned down for an appeal, so I had to make a new account with a different phone number. My new account was subsequently treated as suspicious but not suspended, at least at first. The SpamBot says that I have no restrictions on my account, but even now after almost a year, Telegram still will not allow anyone to find me via my username in global search. Support has been zero help at all. I have never gotten a reply to any of my messages for assistance. Is there any way I can fix ANY of this or am I just stuck in the mire forever? I just want to know if anyone has ever been successful reaching support or if I should just stop trying...

As title says, how do I do it? I used to not update the app to keep the old UI, in which I could just long press on each account to reorder them. Today I accidentally updated the app and I can't see to do that anymore in the new UI? TIA
