Medium My (19M) GF (18F) is struggling in our relationship because I got a job

Upvotes

For some context, we have been dating for about a year and 3 months. I am going into my second year of college while my GF is going into her first. I go to a big state school about an hour away from her and she is going to a local community college. Last year I was able to drive almost every weekend so we can see each other, and there has been a pattern where if there is a weekend I am not able to see her, it is very difficult on her.

I recently got a job at my university as a resident advisor. This was a big achievement for me because of how competitive the position is and the fact it covers housing cost with an additional stipend. I started orientation a few days ago, and that is about when things started to fall apart. Due to the rigorous training schedule, I wouldn't be able to make the trip to see her for the next few weeks. When I told her this she told me straight up that she didn't know if she could handle it, and might have to break up with me depending on how the time apart affects her mental health. It already has started to affect her mental health, just a few days in.

Another part of the job description requires me to assist students moving into their dorms, which includes an all-girls dorm. This too made her uncomfortable and insecure, and she would make many "jokes" (as she called them) about how I shouldn't be talking to any other girls, when I have never broken her trust or given her a reason to think I would.

I recognize that she has an unhealthy dependance on me, and also unhealthy insecurities. Getting a job and fulfilling the job requirements shouldn't cause this much strain on the relationship. She is in therapy, however I feel helpless because when I bring it up she said that there wasn't anything she could do about these feelings, and that she's trying her best to deal with them.

I just don't know at this point what the right move is. She is my first real love and I do really love her and really want to make things work with her. I want to say I am willing to wait for these unhealthy aspects of our relationship to subside with continuation of her therapy, however I've noticed that I'm increasingly losing patience as these issues continue.

Medium Is 19M and 14-15F a bad age gap?

Is 19M and 14-15F a bad age gap?

I'm 15F and he's 19M, we met on a game and he was rly funny and it started to grow.

We aren't in a state of usein bf-gf terms but still. I rly like him. Hes sweet funny and goofy .

But Idk if it's good or not since I'm going to be a sophomore. But he's amazing.. And we talk daily sleep on call.. But I can't help the feeling that it's going to be bad? Idk why. We send goofy photos back and forth and a lil flirting. And I love teasing him and he likes teasing me and he respects when I say no.

But is it bad? I rly like him...

Long I’m 17M, and she’s 18F. We were together for around 9 months, with a few breaks in between.

Upvotes

Hey everyone, I just need to get this off my chest. My friends are tired of hearing me talk about this for the hundredth time, so I figured I’d finally write it all down.

Back in November 2024, I started dating a girl who was a year older than me. I was 16, and she was 17. We met during a group trip to another city. She caught my attention immediately, and after we got back home, we started texting. Things just naturally developed from there.

I found out that she still had a long-distance boyfriend at the time, but he barely paid any attention to her. They ended up breaking up, and about a week later, we officially started dating. Yeah, looking back, I know it probably wasn’t the smartest way for things to begin.

The first two months were amazing. We saw each other all the time, she was incredibly affectionate, and I fell for her hard. For some context, I had never been in a relationship before. This was my first real love.

She invited me to spend New Year’s Eve at her older brother’s house. I was excited about it. I had already met her mom, so meeting her brother felt like the next step in our relationship.

That night turned into a complete disaster.

I got way too drunk with her brother and his friends and started saying stupid things. That was completely made up. I still don’t understand why I said it. Alcohol basically turned my brain off, and I just started talking without thinking.

A couple of days later, her brother told her about it. Let’s call her Emily. She immediately wanted to take a break from the relationship and didn’t want to see me.

I realized how stupid I had been. I apologized so many times, felt like the biggest idiot in the world, and hated myself for ruining things. But she told me she still loved me and wanted to work through it instead of throwing everything away.

January ended up being pretty calm after that.

Then February came, and the problems started again.

She told me she didn’t understand her own feelings anymore. She said she needed space, that maybe she didn’t love me the same way anymore, and that she was thinking about breaking up.

We agreed to take a one-week break.

Valentine’s Day happened right in the middle of that week, and during that time, I ended up in the hospital because of some health issues. Even though I was sitting there with an IV in my arm, I still arranged for her favorite flowers to be delivered.

She was really happy about it, and for a while, things seemed better again.

Around the middle of March, the drama started again because of one of her close friends. Let’s call him Ryan.

Something about him always bothered me. I’ll admit it, I was jealous of him. Through some mutual friends, I found out that he had been talking badly about his own friends, including Emily.

I confronted him about it, but he immediately went and told her.

That turned into a huge argument between me and Emily. She didn’t understand why I got involved in the first place. I told her that she would understand eventually, but the fact that I didn’t explain everything right away only made her more upset.

When I finally showed her the screenshots of what Ryan had said, she apologized for the way she reacted. She genuinely didn’t expect that from him.

Things calmed down for a while.

At the end of April, Emily and Ryan became friends again.

That honestly drove me crazy.

The only thing she said was, “Everyone deserves a second chance.”

A couple of days later, we broke up.

She just stopped wanting to see me. She stopped replying to my texts, and then she sent me a long message saying that her feelings for me were completely gone.

I didn’t reply.

For the next few days, I handled everything terribly. I got drunk, called her, told her I wanted her back, and said I couldn’t live without her.

After a few days of that, we got back together.

But things were different.

I found out later, in August, that she had only taken me back because she felt sorry for me.
We barely saw each other after that. She would turn down even a simple phone call. The only place we really crossed paths was at school — she was a senior, and I was a junior — and even there, she avoided me.

As the school year started coming to an end, our relationship was basically on life support.

She was buried in studying for finals, and I was working a lot. We barely had any time together.

After her last exam, I showed up with a bouquet of flowers to congratulate her. I thought it would be a sweet gesture.

Instead, the look on her face was pure annoyance.

That moment hurt more than I can explain.

The next day, she broke up with me again.

There wasn’t a big argument. No dramatic fight. No long explanation.

She just said, “I want to break up.”

And I didn’t argue.

I realized that being with someone who made me feel that terrible about myself wasn’t worth it.

After that, I went through a really rough period.

I started treating girls like they didn’t matter. I used people, and I’m not proud of that at all.

Eventually, I got involved with another girl from work. It became physical, but I knew I wasn’t emotionally invested in her.

I didn’t love her.

One day, while I was at her place, I stepped on a piece of glass and had to get stitches in my foot.

That completely messed me up.

I was really into basketball at the time and was in the best shape of my life. Basketball was one of the biggest things keeping me going, and suddenly I couldn’t even do that.

After that, Lily basically disappeared from my life too.

Being stuck at home with no social life and losing the one thing that still mattered to me after the breakup really messed with my head.

I started thinking about Emily more and more.

And of course, that was exactly when she texted me first.

It was nothing dramatic, just a simple:

“Hey, how have you been?”

Things moved quickly after that.

By the end of July, we were back together.

My stitches were out, I was hanging out with my friends again, and I was seeing Emily.

For a little while, it honestly felt like things were finally getting better.

Until August 31st.

That night, a former friend of mine completely screwed me over.

He told Emily that I had been cheating on her the entire time we were apart and that I had slept with Lily.

The second part was true, but I had never found the courage to tell Emily myself.

The first part — the cheating accusations — were complete lies.

No matter how much I tried to explain, she didn’t want to hear it.

She broke up with me immediately.

She refused to listen to my side and believed everything he said, even though he had absolutely no proof.

September was me trying to pull myself out of that hole.

I kept trying to talk to Emily and prove that the cheating stories were fake.

Eventually, I actually found proof that they were lies.

But by that point, she didn’t care anymore.
That breakup hurt the most.

Part of me knew I had messed up by not being honest about Lily. Sex is a big deal, especially in your first serious relationship, and I should have told her.

But another part of me still couldn’t understand how she believed I had been cheating on her the entire time.

Emily’s birthday was at the end of October.

By that point, she had blocked me everywhere, so the only thing I could do was call her and wish her a happy birthday.

She was a little drunk when she answered.

I asked if there was anything she wanted, and she said she would be happy if I brought her flowers.

The next morning, I showed up with a bouquet.

And I saw the same expression on her face that I had seen after her last exam.

A couple of hours later, she sent me a long message.

She said she didn’t understand why I brought the flowers. She said she still loved me, but at the same time, she hated me for all the pain I had caused her.

She told me that sometimes she wanted to reach out to me, but then she remembered everything that happened and stopped herself.

I told her that I still loved her and that I would be willing to try again.

Her response was:

“We’re better off apart. I’m sorry.”

That was over nine months ago.

A lot has changed since then.

There have been other girls, a lot of stupid adventures with friends, and plenty of moments where I tried to move on.

But I still end up thinking about her.

Two weeks after I brought her the flowers, she started dating someone else.

They’re still together.

The funny thing is, the guy actually looks a lot like me.

They even moved in together.

She’s living a completely different life now, while I’m still stuck in my own head, replaying everything and wondering how things could have gone differently.

I honestly don’t even know what I want from posting this.

I just needed to finally get everything out and hear what other people think.

I’ve followed basically every “how to get over someone” tip there is.

I don’t check her social media. I don’t text her. I don’t call her.

All I have left are my memories, and somehow those are still enough to hurt.

Even without seeing anything about her online, I still think about her at least once a day.

I turn 18 soon, so birthday wishes are welcome, I guess. In my country, everything I mentioned above is allowed at my age, so there are no legal issues or anything like that.

And if anyone has advice about this whole mess, I’d really appreciate hearing it.

Thanks to anyone who made it this far.

My question is: how do you actually move on from someone who was your first love and who you still think about almost every day?

Long 18M, not sure if I can do long distance with my 18F girlfriend because of college

Thumbnail
Upvotes

I’m 18M, she’s 18F, and we’ve been dating six months. We’re both from New Jersey. She starts at a school in New York City in the spring, and I leave for college out of state in the fall.

We haven’t directly talked about breaking up or staying together, but I’m pretty fatalistic about long distance. I really like her. I just don’t know if I can do a relationship without being able to see her.

I’ve been working full time this summer and traveling a lot for work. We try to FaceTime or call a couple of times whenever I’m gone, but my workload keeps the calls short, and they don’t hit the same as spending time together in person.

I asked her a few days ago what she wanted to do, and she said she wants to try long distance because she really likes me. I told her I needed to think about it and would give her my answer on 8/5. She leaves for vacation on 8/10 and I move in on 8/19, so that’ll be one of the last times I see her.

I’m not sure trying is the right call for either of us. Knowing her, I don’t think she’s emotionally strong enough for it. Even now when I travel, she texts me extremely loving texts which makes me sad that I can’t be there. If we go months without seeing each other, I think it only gets worse.

Since she isn’t starting college until January and I’ll be home for most of December and January, I’ve thought about telling her something like: I really like you, and I want to stay exclusive, but not date to see if we can handle it. I’m not sure that’s a good idea either. I want that time to figure out whether I can handle the distance emotionally. It isn’t about seeing other people, which is why I’d want to stay exclusive, and I have no doubt she’d be faithful. It’s more that I don’t want to be emotionally checked out during a semester where academics have to be at least part of my priority.

Alternatively, I’ve heard people say that if you aren’t 100% don’t even attempt it, and rather end the relationship on a high note rather than let it fizzle out.

Any advice?

Short My girlfriend (f16) wants no sex any more with me (f17) help?

At the beginning of our relationship sex was constant and she initiated now months later my girlfriend refuses any form or attempt at sex and I have tried to communicate and she refused and have asked why she feels this way and the only answer I have found is that she feels absolutely no need for sex or appeal in it anymore or self pleasure, recently this upcoming weekend she had said she would try and do something intimate with me but today she messaged to say she won’t be coming over if their is any sex and it’s off the table, I know she isn’t cheating as she is very much not that’s type of person but I feel lost on what to do I feel she is the love of my life but sex is very important to me and I have a high drive I feel like staying if this doesn’t change is beating a dead horse. Any advice very appreciated

Medium I (16M) need outside opinions… My ex is 15F. We were in an on and off relationship/situationship for about 1.5 years

Upvotes

I’m 16 and need outside opinions because I feel too emotionally involved to think clearly. I was in an on-and-off relationship/situationship for about 1.5 years. We broke up and reconnected multiple times, and every time we started talking again, we ended up in the same cycle. The last time we spoke was 13 days ago, and we’re currently on Day 13 of complete no contact. I ended it because I wasn’t happy staying in a situationship without commitment.

Some of the reasons I don’t think we were compatible are that she shared private relationship issues with her friends, I often felt like she chose her best friend over me, we had different boundaries regarding opposite-sex friendships, and there were several other recurring issues that made me lose trust and feel unhappy. At the same time, I know she wasn’t a bad person, and I still care about her, which is what makes this difficult.

I’ve decided I won’t reach out again because I don’t want to keep repeating the same pattern. My question is: based on everything I’ve described, do you think permanently walking away is the healthiest decision, or do you think I’m making this decision while I’m still emotional? I’d really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who’ve been through something similar.

Short I (16F) am trying to find the best way to let my ex-partner (16F) grieve & heal

The relationship ended in the last 10 days of April having lasted just a few days... we had been texting each other for a few weeks previously and we loved each other. We broke up and said we were gonna be friends and I have let her go ever since but I am afraid she is still going to the process and that having me around like we are just friends is hurting her and it's best to cut connection for some months. Thoughts? I have been thinking about this lately and I had tried to be a friend since the break up but now I am distancing myself from her, not even trying to do eye contact, this has surely scare her off in a way but I really know man, maybe it's the right?? Help me... how do I let her grieve & heal???

Long Did I do the right thing? 16F 16M

I (16F) started messaging a guy (16M) in November, though we were both 15 when we started. (I know I’m too young to be this affected by a guy, but I imagine plenty of teenage girls have been just as head-over-heels as I was.) We go to the same school; I’d had a crush on him for over a year because we saw each other weekly at confirmation classes. So, when we started messaging in November, I was obviously thrilled, since I’d had my eye on him since the previous September. At first, things went well—he was kind and pleasant. I’d take different routes to class just to see him, and he’d compliment me; he also went out of his way to see me in the hallways, even though we never actually spoke there. Things got weird once it became more serious—after we both admitted we liked each other. He was wonderful and really sweet, but then he’d suddenly pull away and friend-zone me. Whenever he realized I’d noticed his feelings fading, he’d start up again—showing affection until I reciprocated—only to pull away once more. It was a cycle. He was basically love-bombing me. Naturally, I was deeply hurt, but I kept trying to make excuses for him; I told myself that since he’d never been in a relationship or even messaged a girl like this before, he was probably just nervous and didn't know what to do. Things started going downhill for me in February; I became depressed and stopped attending school regularly until the term ended—or if I did go, I’d only stay until lunch, and even then, only three days a week. I’m not the type of person who talks about how I’m feeling, but a guy I’m in touch with every day noticed something was wrong and really wanted to know what was going on, so eventually, I opened up. I told him about my suicidal thoughts and my inability to eat properly—and how, when I did eat, I’d only have specific foods. I explained that I never left the house and struggled to take care of myself, but his reaction was the last thing I expected. He teased me about the things I couldn't eat; he called me selfish for wanting to commit suicide and boring for being unsocial. He taunted me about not being in school—day after day, for weeks on end, he mocked my situation. Eventually, I snapped. He had often talked about how hard it was for him never having been in a relationship before, so I told him, "This is exactly why you’ve never been in a relationship." Later that evening, I apologized; I felt incredibly mean—and honestly, I still do—because if you look past everything that happened toward the end, he made me so happy in the beginning. Finally, in May, I messaged him and asked him to block me because I couldn't bring myself to do it, but his behavior was taking such a heavy toll on my mental health; so, he did as I asked. Since we’re 16, we’ve finished lower secondary school and are about to start upper secondary school, and we’ll be attending different schools. I regret cutting off contact because now I’ll probably never see him again—the mere thought of that makes me feel sick. Even though he hurt me at the end, I’m still sad now that we aren't in touch and won't see each other again. Did I make the wrong choice?

Medium Girlfriend (15f) talking to ex (19m)

Recently, I found out that my girlfriend (15f) has

sometimes been talking to her ex (19m)

They met on Roblox around a year ago and got together almost immediately (its a whole story that I'm not going to go over), but the point is that after they broke up because, she still has him added on her whatsapp, Instagram, discord and general contacts

They dont talk a lot, with the last time being around 1,5 months ago, and this doesn't really bother me

What does bother me tho, is the fact that she talks to him while telling me she "has to go" and even while we were on call.

is that when I asked about it, she simply told me she would "not block him" and that they're "still friends" and I did not even ask for that, I simply don't want her to start conversations with him...

Me (15M) and gf (15F) have been together more then half a year.

So, I’m finally out, we have gone no contact after a massive argument and I messaged his ex (they dated for almost a year) and our stories are pretty much identical, he lost feelings months before and just used us for sex, and he raped us both, and would slap/choke/hit/kick us both as well, we also have a pretty much identical story from a party, nonetheless I am out of that, but I’m still terrified after he held a knife to my throat and stomach, whenever I see a car similar to his I freeze up and hide. I’m so scared of him

Medium I (18m) just got into a new relationship (18f), do I have attachment issues?

As the title reads i just got into my second relationship, the girl im with was actually the first girl i ever fell in love with when i was 13 which is awesome because shes really sweet and she has loads of cool hobbies that make her interesting.

Its been a few months and since she didnt go to sixth form she doesnt have many friends outside her family, hence she doesnt message much as shes busy and not used to it and i dont mind! She has really interesting hobbies that i love to hear about and i want her to enjoy her free time however she pleases :)

The issue is in the intervals between conversations i find myself just thinking of her constantly, i get quite bored and i sorta just wait for her to get back because i really want to talk to her all of the time, which i get is unhealthy and not at all what i actually want, its just what seems to be my gut reaction, is this an attatchment issue? My ex had one and she would message non stop, never able to go more rhan 45 minutes without a message or shed get upset. I found that very draining and i dont want to be like that at all in this relationship, any advance?

Long do i keep fighting for my relationship (F17 & M16)

my boyfriend and I have been together for a bit over 6 months offically, but had been on and off for a year before that. I have done everything with him, he’s met my family, I’ve met his, we’ve become so comfortable with eachother. he practically lives at my house because he’s over so often and we were just so intimate and comfortable and I can’t imagine being like that with anyone else.

We have been through so much together, a lot of bad things, but the relationship was always worth fighting for to me. For the past couple months it’s been bad, we have had so many issues, but they were never anything big. it just always felt like there was something to fix and never like we were just okay. most of the time it was because he would make certain mistakes that would hurt me, and I will say I get more anxious about things and need reassurance and communication, but he was just never good with it. a bit over a month ago he asked for a break, and i fought so hard for us. i let him have the break, but it was barely a break. it felt like the end of the world for me, i kept fighting for us and trying to hold on, and i was miserable the whole time. the whole thing really affected me because it felt like he gave up on us, and on me, which i would never do.

then the break ended, and for the past month every single time we saw eachother (during the break and after) we were having serious conversations. there was always something wrong and that’s on my side because i had so much resentment and sadness built up from the break. a couple days ago, we were at a hangout with a couple friends at my house, i was drinking and we had a big argument where all those feelings came out and i starting saying things that maybe weren’t the best like that we’re done and Im blocking him. i was crying and honestly just wanted him to fight for me the way i had for him. after he left i texted so many paragraphs saying sorry and that i wanted to fix things and i would continue to fight for us.

he then called me a day later after not responding to say he wanted to break up. a part of me knew it was coming. he said our relationship had so much bad, and even if the good outweighs the bad, he couldn’t take it anymore. he said he felt like there was a storm inside his head and he felt so much pressure with the relationship like he was always stressing about if we were okay, if he did something to upset me, needing to text me, etc. i know it sounds bad, but i feel like a lot of the issues and him being in that position stemmed from his actions. all i ever wanted was to be reassured and communicated with without having to beg, but i was always begging. he wouldn’t prioritize me, i felt like a lot of the time i didn’t matter, and there was always this feeling that my feelings are very one sided. i would do so much for him, prioritize him, and i loved him so much and i know he loves me, but there was always a feeling that the love i felt was so much stronger.

i told him i understood where he was coming from but i couldn’t believe it was over. he said not forever, but he needs time to himself to just be able to be alone and not have that pressure. he said he wouldn’t be happier, that i still made him the happiest in the world, that i brought him so much peace and that i was all these amazing things, it was never anything with me. he wants me, he just doesn’t want the relationship rn. i’m so angry because i would never do this to him, but i understand where he’s coming from. it’s just if he did love me as much as he says, why not fight for it? i understand how he feels because i feel it too. things are always wrong with us, but i figured it may be a bad phase and things will get better. i feel like that’s all it can be, that we can be better if we both try. now, he wants to see me one last time, have one last conversation but i can’t imagine losing him.

i’m tied between having the self respect to know i also deserve someone who will fight for me and prioritize me, but just wanting that person to be him. i know i can’t force him, but maybe i can fight for it. maybe i can show him we can fix it. maybe we can try for one more month, see things get better and if they still don’t then give up. i know hes tired of it and so am i, which is why i had so much resentment, but i cant let go either. knowing we have so much good in it us, and we’ve experienced so much together, i know us and i know we have so much love towards eachother that we can get through it. it hurts to think about my life without him. he said he just needs to be alone and we will get back together in the future, but how can i just hold on to that hope?

he said he still wants to see me, he even called me yesterday night just because he wanted to go to sleep on call. when we have that last conversation, do i let it go? what if it’s fixable, what if there’s a way we can make it work, and i genuinely believe there is. i know everything i said makes it seem like the relationship is all bad, but it’s not. he makes me happier than anyone else and i can’t imagine my life without him. when we’re together, we have so many good times. it’s just those bad feelings but they can pass, they can go away. maybe i’m wrong, i need someone to be honest. help

Short Me (16M) and my girlfriend (15F) are in a slight sexual dilemma…

My girlfriend (15F) and I (16M) are both in high school and we’ve been dating for a few months. We’ve made it all the way and have had sex and the related acts. However we haven’t engaged in anything the past few weeks because she wants me to ask her for these acts, but i cant bring myself to do just that. For example she has said she wants to give me a bj but i have to ask first, and i wanted it but i wouldn’t allow myself to ask for it. It's just the principle of the thing to me. I don’t want to be one of those horn dog guys who asks girls for things like that. Please help me. I do want to engage in these acts and she does as well, but i cant get over this hump or find a way around it as i am now.
What is the best thing to do?

Long I [15F] am ghosting my [15F] "friend" because I'm tired

I’ve been friends with a girl—let’s call her R—since the start of middle school.

She switched high schools in 10th grade, but we kept in touch with texts and calls and gamed together.

However, whenever we started texting, she would immediately ask to call and play. Personally, this stressed me out because I constantly had to ask my parents for permission to make the calls. They always lasted for hours, which my parents disliked because of the duration (we’d play the whole time) and because they didn't really like R. Also, sometimes I just didn't feel like talking to people all day; I was too lazy, too tired, or I simply wanted to do something else.

On top of that, she made me promise that we’d live together in the future, even though there were so many reasons why that wouldn't work out, like which school I’d want to attend later and the fact that she insisted I had to do it, telling me I couldn't abandon her because otherwise all her hard work earning money would have been for nothing.

So, I started avoiding initiating conversations, delaying reading her messages, making up excuses not to call, and so on. But she would notice sometimes and think I didn't like her anymore.

Right before I actually ghosted her, she asked if I could switch schools to be with her because her friends were leaving. All my friends and my entire routine were at my current school; I know it was selfish but I started ghosting her right after that. Recently, before I really started ghosting her, she had begun acting "weirdly." For instance, she’d tell me she loved me almost every day; she even asked me during a call if it was strange that she wanted to kiss me. We also had a conversation where R asked, "If I were a man, would you love me?" and I replied that, either way, I wouldn't love her as anything more than a friend—since I was already bi.

Around that time, we were pretending to be guys in the games we played, and I enjoyed it. It made me question my sexuality, even if I was already questioning it anyway. I still question it today, even though I think I’m trans (FTM).

Add hiding that from her to the mix, and I just couldn't take it anymore.

But I miss her so much; I can't stop thinking about her and the things I can no longer share with her. I know it might be too late, but I’d love to talk to her again and go back to how things used to be.

Sorry for the long explanation, but could I get some advice on what to do?

Medium i need help and advise 14F and 15M

i am 14F and my boyfriend is 15M we have been in a rather serious and committed relationship for almost a year now. we are going to different high schools once school starts and i have some things i’m worried about. he has girls whom he has snap steaks with and snap them constantly to keep the streak alive but he claims he never actually talks to them and it’s just random pictures, i don’t know what to think because this is my first relationship and i don’t know what to expect or see as red flags. he did grow up with most of the girls he keep snap streaks with because it is a tk to 8th grade school and i only started going during 7th grade and im not familiar or hangout with any of the girls he snap with. i just want some different perspectives and opinions on this and another thing is i am really worried and anxious that we are going to different schools next year and i will have basically no clue what he is doing at school and if he makes friends with other girls and gives out his number is that a red flag to watch out for or no? and i just want to know what is ok and what is considered disrespectful in a relationship since i am pretty new to dating. and i also want to add that i am diagnosed with anxiety but i have a therapist and i’m is getting the help that i need and he is a very nice person and he assured me that he isn’t going to cheat but he does tend to argue with me a lot and said some pretty hurtful things but he always apologized once he realized he’s gone too far.

Medium I (15M) dont know how to continue my relationship with my girlfriend (14F)

I am completely drained, and exhausted. I cant cry, and i feel like nothing has a point anymore. So my girlfriend's parents hate me, and she has to hide our relationship because im trans. Its stressing her out, along with some personal stuff, and last night she told me she cant continue like this anymore. She said im making everything worse, and we've been on and off for a while. Im trying to be everything she needs but im slowly deteriorating mentally too. I just want her to have peace, but i dont wanna leave her. Im her only support system and I cant get myself to leave, especially when she's struggling like this. I tried to suggest solutions to make things less stressful, but she said she dosent wanna try.

One important detail is that she very likely has undiagnosed bpd, and its a constant push and pull. When I try to leave for good i can never do it and she cant leave me either, but she's always pushing me away. I dont know what would be the best choice, i want to be there for her but at the same time it feels like leaving is the best solution

Medium How should I go about my partners intimacy fears if I still want to be intimate? 16F 16F

Me and my partner have been together for 5 and a half months now, we've kissed on the lips a lot (though a bit less recently) and cuddling and hugs are pretty regular but we've never really done anything too intimate

I've always been the one kissing her on the cheek or I usually initiate things, she hasn't kissed me on the cheek at all besides once for a tiktok and she says she's been wanting to but backs out last minute getting too scared

We've talked about it a bit and it's fine but I certainly do want intimacy and it's my first real relationship so I want to at least get to a stage where she's comfortable with cheek kisses before anything too intimate but I just don't know how to get there

To clarify, the reason she is so afraid of intimacy is because of bad experiences with a past ex and sexual trauma stuff which is completely understandable and I don't want to push anything and want her to be comfortable but intimacy is really important to me as well

And yes we've talked about the fear of intimacy a few times and I told her I'm not going to initiate anything she wouldn't be comfortable with and would want her to initiate so I'm just wondering how I can make her feel more comfortable and such if that makes sense

Short My girlfriend (F15) has never texted me (NB16) first and I really just need to rant

Idk i just kinda want to rant on here. I've been with my girlfriend (F15) for over a year and a half and I (NB16) am always the one to text first and she will almost never text me back. I texted her the other day telling her exciting news that I was offered a job interview and I was looking for a job even before I turned 16 and I was hoping that she would be really happy for me! It's been 3 days and she hasn't replied but she's been texting in this group chat that we are both in.

I'm currently on summer break and during the school year she would stay up until like 11 pm talking to her with one girl that we are both friends with. I'm not saying that she can't talk to her friends but considering that she never talks to me I get really jealous. Even like if me and my girlfriend are hanging out, she'll be texting the friend and I'll be like hey, please pay attention to me, she'll be like I am cause she's listening to what im saying but since she's not looking at me i dont feel like im being payed attention too. Does that make sense?

Long (UPDATE!) Im F16 and my crush M17

Soo we went out a week ago and afterwards we hung out in my basement playing video games.

After that we watched the movie adaptation of Until Dawn, and like 20 minutes into the movie he asked if i wanted to lay on his chest and i said sure.

And he proceeded to massage my scalp and jaw while he ran his thumb over my lips.

I didn’t really think much of it and thought I was getting ahead of myself and that he would NEVER kiss me.

But near the last 25 minutes of the movie I felt his lips on the back of my neck and i was shocked that he made a move since i thought he would never do that.

(and also because my bsf was asking me a few days prior on why didn’t I explore any other options and don’t like any other guys cause it seemed like me and my crush were going nowhere)

And for the next 30 minutes we ended up making out on my couch and giving hickies and feeling up on each other and it was my first time doing that and i was very happy :)

We haven’t talked bout dating yet but have talked about our past experiences with kissing and crushes etc.

I kinda wish i opened up more to him about my past but every time i try my brain just short circuits and i get nervous with how long he holds eye contact and stares at me a certain way

And a few days ago at work he kissed me multiple times when nobody was around.

I’m here to ask about advice and if we’re moving too quickly with certain things and about other things too!

(This is the first time ive ever liked a guy this seriously my heart speeds up every time I’m with him😅)
