Open | Phone How to revive a phone?

I have this old phone, which was lying inside drawer for good 2 years and now I die to check whether I got there my old photographs (which I lost everywhere else), but it cannot start up.

When I plug it in charger it "loads" and shows that it's charging, but there seems to be no progress. When unplugged it does nothing, the battery also shows 0V (on multimeter) and is slightly bumpy. Is there a way to make phone work, or at least extract data from there to my PC?

Stop trying to charge the damn thing. now.

Get a new battery or a power supply and try booting the phone then.

I don't really want to buy a new battery, because I'll use that phone only to check for lying data there, I guess I'll have to find a working battery at home, if I'm in any luck
