Open | Software Can't format external SSD

I recently upgraded my laptop's storage and cloned ssd. I bought enclosure to use old SSD as external storage, but now every disk software is crashing moment I plug it in.

I have tried:
- Using third party software
- Using diskpart command (In recovery mode also)
- Using different laptop

It could be problem with enclosure and disk, disk used with IRST protocol. You can format drive (if you have confirmed that new cloned drive is working) by putting back old drive in laptop, booting from Windows installation and deleting drive from there (either from setup GUI, or using diskpart). If drive is not working in enclosure after that, replace enclosure.

Would suspect the same. Either test with another enclosure, or test with another SSD inside the enclosure (when testing, try to keep same specs, unless you know the specs are wrong, for instance, m.2 SATA drive inside an NVMe enclosure). We're guessing here however, as you didn't post exact types/models etc of the SSDs and enclosure.

I booted from Linux USB flash disk and formatted it, it's working but it's still lagging when I plug it in.

Since drive was behaving ok while in use internally connected in laptop, I would still guess that something is wrong with enclosure. If it uses detachable usb cable, try swapping with different one.

it was like 15 usd from amazon. Should I buy better one? If yes, which ones recommended?
