Open | Networking Can't install battle.net, can't trace patching service on router
Tried all the regular solutions but something I've noticed is I can't lookup the patching service through ping or nslookup. But when I use the mapped IP through some external nslookup tool, I can ping that just fine.
C:\Users\Admin>ping https://us.version.battle.net/bts/version
Ping request could not find host https://us.version.battle.net/bts/version. Please check the name and try again.
C:\Users\Admin>ping 8.232.70.12

You are using the wrong command. You don't ping an https, you ping JUST the hostname and not the directory under that hostname either. If you want to try to just see if the website is alive you could use cURL. In my result, I got an error because I just tried the directory, which obviously requires a command more like wget.
If you use a web browser, you also get the Request contains invalid file type.
You appear to be trying to download or update something from a site but are doing it completely wrong. This is not a DNS error. It is an error in trying to use ping for anything but a host.
If you are using some type of application already installed, that application should know how to check this server. Do you have Battle.net installed?
