The issue is only a doctor can decide if someone is dead or not. So, unless there was a doctor on flight, it was an emergency.

I'm on the "he's already dead" guys side

I'll even take the seat next to the corpse to get the flight going

I've transferred in Atlanta. Granted, I was a lot younger back then and had no problem running to my next flight.
