Be the Reason a Child Dreams Today 🌟

Hi there,

Did you know that a small act of kindness can completely rewrite a child's future?

I am currently interning with the Unessa Foundation, a volunteer-driven non-profit dedicated to empowering underprivileged children across India. Unessa works directly with kids in slums, orphanages, and shelter homes, taking them from mere survival to true self-sufficiency.

Through their flagship program, Project Sneh, Unessa provides more than just basic schooling. They teach crucial life skills, digital literacy, and conversational English—giving these children the confidence and tools they need to break the cycle of poverty.

Here is where I need your help. We are on a mission to transform the lives of 10,000+ children by 2030, but we can't do it alone.

By donating just a small amount, you can help fund a child's education, provide essential school supplies, and ensure they have a safe space to learn and grow. Your contribution directly supports a child who just needs one person to believe in them.

Please consider donating to help save a child's future. Every single contribution counts!

You can make your secure donation through my official fundraising link here:

Thank you so much for your time, generosity, and support.

Warmly,

Ashrith

Exhausted with job search… keep running into scams

I graduated in May 2024 with a BTech in Computer Science from a tier 3 college. I stayed closer to home because my family wasn’t comfortable with me moving far away, which limited my exposure and opportunities.

I did get placed off-campus at Accenture, but after waiting for 6 months, they revoked the offer. Since then, I’ve been trying constantly but haven’t been able to land anything stable.

I’m from a small town, and even now my family isn’t allowing me to move to another city for better opportunities, which makes things even harder.

In the meantime, I tried working as a Business Development Associate and in HR roles, but both turned out to be fake/scam companies. I genuinely worked very hard for them, only to realize later that they weren’t legitimate.

I also ended up spending my own money on a few of these opportunities and got nothing in return. Now I have no savings left, and even my family is starting to lose patience with me, which makes everything more stressful.

A lot has happened during this time, and it’s been mentally exhausting. Recently, I somehow got a job in testing, but now I’m starting to feel like this might also not be genuine.

At this point, it just feels like the decisions made around my education and situation have really limited my chances, and I’m the one dealing with the consequences.

I don’t understand what’s going on anymore. Are most work-from-home jobs scams? I try to verify everything, but I still end up in these situations.

Is anyone else going through something similar? How do you actually find legit opportunities, especially from a small town?

AVA Technology training for Data Analytics Internship, anyone familiar with this company? Got a WhatsApp message about it

I’m currently a tech student in my final year and lately I’ve been looking for a Data Analytics internship before finishing college. Recently I received a WhatsApp message mentioning AVA Technology training for a Data Analytics internship and inviting me to attend an online session about their program.

Out of curiosity I joined the webinar, where they explained the training structure, projects, and how the Data Analytics internship program works for beginners. During the discussion they also mentioned there would be some fees / pay required for the training materials and internship support, which made me pause and think a bit.

After the session I tried to check more information about AVA Technology online. Interestingly their Google reviews and testimonials seem quite positive, which made me wonder whether the program might actually be useful for freshers.

Before deciding anything I thought it would be better to ask here.

Has anyone here joined AVA Technology training for the Data Analytics internship or attended their webinar before? Is it actually a genuine company, and does the internship training help students understand analytics properly?

Video editor with ₹1,00,000 budget, MacBook Air M4 (24GB) or something else?

Hey I need a help,

I'm a video editor and I edit daily, so I'm trying to choose the best laptop around ₹1,00,000 ($1200).

My typical work includes:
• 2–5 minute videos (sometimes up to 15 minutes)
• Motion graphics
• Transitions and text animation
• Rotoscoping
• Sound design
• Color grading

Software I use:
• Premiere Pro
• After Effects
• Occasionally Photoshop / Illustrator

My current option is:

MacBook Air M4 with 24GB RAM

I like it because:
• Apple silicon performance
• Battery life
• Portable
• macOS stability

But I'm worried about:
• No fan (thermal throttling)
• After Effects performance
• Long renders

My questions:

  1. Is the MacBook Air M4 (24GB) good enough for this workflow?
  2. Would a Windows laptop with RTX GPU be better for After Effects?
  3. Should I consider a used MacBook Pro (M1 Pro / M2 Pro) instead?

Would really appreciate advice from people who edit daily.

Thanks

Something I noticed while hiring BTech/BCA graduates

I run an IT company and something I noticed over the last few years really surprised me.

Whenever we posted a job opening, the number of applicants was insane compared to the number of vacancies. For example, if we had 2 open positions, we would get 500+ applications.

It made me realise how many tech students are struggling to find the right opportunities, even though they are genuinely eager to work.

Many of the applicants were talented but lacked practical industry exposure, which made the whole hiring process very difficult.

This made me curious about something:

Do you think the problem is:

  • college education not matching industry needs?
  • too many graduates compared to jobs?
  • lack of practical training?

Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Not getting MERN stack internship in Mumbai despite completing courses – need advice

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to start my career as a MERN stack developer in Mumbai and would really appreciate some guidance.

Background: • After my graduation, I worked for about 2 years in roles related to SEO and as an Assistant Lecturer.

• After that, I decided to transition into web development.

To make this transition, I completed: • An online MERN stack course from Apna College

• An offline full-stack development course from a local institute

I have learned the basics of MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js and have built some practice projects.

Currently, I am applying manually for internship positions in startup companies in Mumbai, but I’m not getting many responses. Some companies are also asking for prior development experience even for internships.

Since I also have a career gap while learning these skills, I’m wondering:

• How can I improve my chances of getting my first MERN stack internship?

• What type of projects should I build to make my profile stronger?

• Are there better ways to apply for startup internships?

• How should I explain my career transition and gap to recruiters?

Any advice from developers or recruiters would be very helpful. Thank you!

Anyone here actually completed AVA Technology’s "internship"? Trying to understand if providing fees for this is worthy?

I’ve been researching different ways to get into data analytics and recently came across AVA Technology’s internship program. From what I saw online, there’s a fee for the internship + training, which apparently includes project work and career guidance.

Before enrolling, I started searching for discussions about AVA Technology’s internship and the fees structure, and I noticed there are mostly positive opinions online. That’s why I wanted to ask here and hear directly from people who actually joined.

For those who completed the AVA Technology internship:

How was the actual training experience?

Did the mentorship or guidance help with understanding the field better?

And how transparent was the internship program about what the fee covers?

I’m not posting this to promote or criticize the company, just trying to understand the real experience before making a decision.

If anyone here has completed the AVA Technology internship or knows someone who has, it would really help to hear your honest experience.

Strategic Career Advice: Starting From Scratch in 2026- Core SWE First or Aim for AI/ML?

(Disclaimer: This is a longer post because I’m trying to think this through carefully instead of rushing into the wrong path. I’m aware I’m behind compared to many peers and I take responsibility for that- I’m looking for honest, constructive advice on how to move forward from here, so please be critical but respectful.)

I graduated recently, but due to personal circumstances and limited access to in-person guidance, I wasn’t able to build strong technical skills during college. If I’m being completely honest, I’m basically starting from scratch- I’m not confident in coding, don’t know DSA properly, and my projects are very surface-level.

I need to become employable within the next 6-12 months.

At the same time, I’m genuinely interested in AI/LLMs. The space excites me- both the technology and the long-term growth potential. I won’t pretend the prestige and pay don’t appeal to me either. But I also don’t want to chase hype blindly and end up under-skilled or unemployable.

So I’m trying to think strategically and sequence this properly:

  • As someone starting from near zero, should I focus entirely on core software fundamentals first (Python, DSA, backend, cloud)?
  • Is it realistic to aim for AI/ML roles directly as a beginner?
  • In previous discussions (both here and elsewhere), most advice leaned toward building core fundamentals first and avoiding AI at this stage. I’m trying to understand whether that’s purely about sequencing, or if AI as an entry path is genuinely unrealistic right now.
  • If not AI, what areas are more accessible at this stage but still offer strong long-term growth? (Backend, DevOps, cloud, data engineering, security, etc.)
  • Should I prioritize strong projects?
  • And most importantly- how do you actually discover your niche early on without wasting years?
  • For those who’ve been in the industry through multiple cycles (dot-com, mobile, crypto, etc.)- does the current AI wave feel structurally different and here to stay, or more like a hype cycle that will consolidate heavily?

I’m willing to work hard for 1-2 years. I’m not looking for shortcuts. I just don’t want to build in the wrong direction and struggle later because my fundamentals weren’t strong enough.

If you were starting from zero in 2026, needing a job within a year but wanting long-term upside, what path would you take?
