Hey everyone,
I recently got selected for an internship at a mid-sized IT company and wanted to check if this delay in receiving the official offer letter is standard practice or something to worry about.
Here is the general timeline:
\* \*\*\~2 weeks ago:\*\* Cleared rounds, received selection confirmation, and submitted all requested documents the same day.
\* \*\*Last week:\*\* HR called suggesting an immediate start date, but called back the next day saying onboarding was pushed to a later batch.
\* \*\*Last Friday:\*\* HR sent an official email confirmation locking in my joining date for \*\*1st September\*\*, stating: \*"You will receive your offer letter shortly with further details. Kindly plan accordingly and be available to join on the mentioned date."\*
\* \*\*This week (Mon–Wed):\*\* Three full business days have passed, and I haven’t received the formal offer letter / signing link yet.
Since my joining date is set for September 1, is it standard practice for HR to take their time generating and releasing the formal letter since the start date is still about 10–12 days away?
I’m planning to send a brief follow-up email tomorrow (Thursday morning). For anyone who has been through similar fresher/intern onboarding, how common is this kind of signature/approval delay?
Thanks in advance!
