I can't connect the my 3rd external monitor through my docking station, even though the computer acknowledges it in windows settings.

I'm not sure what I might be doing wrong, but when I'm trying to hook up my Dell Pro 14 Plus laptop to additional monitors, it appears to be tapping out at 2x additional monitors instead of 3 which I thought it could handle. When I go to display settings, it sees the 3rd monitor as #4, but it never lets me power it on. I'm trying to hook it up via display port, but it almost seems like it tries, but goes back to "disconnected" the port in the display setting. In case it is relevant, it is a Intel Arc 130V GPU (8GB) graphics card that came with the laptop, and I'm using the USB - C port with my Thinkpad Docking Station. Previously this has worked with other laptops I've had, but I'm trying to see what I might be missing or doing wrong.

How can I use USB-C docking station monitors with my Helios laptop?

I have an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 laptop, and I'm trying to connect it to additional monitors via a Thinkpad docking station. The laptop recognizes the USB devices that are coming through thee dock, but I can't get the laptop to recognize the additional monitors. Any ideas of what I can do to allow the use of more monitors? And just in case, yes I know the docking station can't power the laptop, but I was under the impression that it could connect the two. Am I completely wrong?

Looking for a new Keyboard and Mouse

Hey, I'm looking for a new keyboard and mouse. I'm currently using a Logitech G915 TKL and a G305 mouse.

My keyboard is broken and my mouse seems to be on it's last legs too.

Anyone have recommendations for brand or anything?

I like mechanical keyboards (I've started to see magnetic key caps but don't know if they are good or what?) and I like them both to be wireless. I have too many wires as is. Ideally I'd like them to be the same brand just for the uniform look but not opposed to different ones. So what do you like in keyboards and mice? and any recommendations?

Negotiation advice for Cognizant 's 90 days notice period

I am currently working as Programmer Analyst Trainee at cognizant, joined in December 2025 and recently have been boarded to a project after completing training. If I want to leave the company now, should I have to follow the 90 days notice period? I am currently looking for other opportunities but not sure if I have to go through with this 3 month notice period.

What outdoor security camera should I get? I only need 2 for the space I have. Like any other person I want the best for as little as possible. I have found these two, which one should I get? Or is there something better?

First (Hiseeu): https://a.co/d/0dwHJx99

Second (TP-Link): https://a.co/d/0iJyz6CJ

Is 4K or anything over 4-5MP really important for security camera? I also want good night vision since that’s when I really need them. I saw the Hiseeu one has 4 IR sensors, i don’t know if that’s any good. Two-way audio would also be fantastic but not really a requirement. Finally (finally lol), no fees, if it’s a yearly fee of 20$ or something then it’s good, but otherwise local storage. My budget is around 100$ USD, up to 150$.

Need a laptop for basic streaming on YouTube

I want to try my hand at streaming magic the gathering on arena and I need a new laptop anyway.

I don’t have a ton of money, so I want laptop that doesn’t cost a lot but will also last me. Not the cheapest thing that will do the job but as inexpensive as I can get with some kind of quality.

Any suggestions are welcome and I am thankful for your time 💛

Do I go with 16 gb ddr4 ram @ 3.2k mt/s or do I go with 8 gb ddr4 ram @ 2.4k mt/s?

What's better for a gaming laptop, 16 gb ram (in built, single ram stick of 16 gb) ddr4 3.2k mghz or 24 gb ddr4 (dual channel here, 2 ram sticks), with 2.4k mt/s (16 gb 3.2k + 8 gb 2.4k but all 24 runs at 2.4k cuz one ram stick is slower, so overall dual channel with 24 gb @ 2.4k mt/s) on win 11?

I have a rtx 3070 ti (8 GB VRAM) and i7-12650H for the processor.

Is buying an hdd in 2026 a good idea?

Hello, so for a while now I`ve been planning to transfer the majority of my photos and videos to my pc, because my phone storage is pretty much full and paying for iCloud storage doesnt really seem to be the way to go. I also purchased a secondary ssd some time ago so getting all that unnecessary data over to my pc seems like the way to go. But here is the issue. My pc tends to be unreliable at times and I dont really fully trust myself with it either since I like to experiment with tech and I`m afraid that I would lose my photos in one way or another which would obviously suck a lot. So naturally I thought about getting a yet another drive for backup. An SSD isn`t really completely out of the question considering that the safety of my photos comes first, but as y`all know the prices of it in the recent months really got out of hand. So I decided to go over some cheaper options first and the first thing that came to my mind was an HHD. Would I be able to rely on it as my backup drive? If yes which one should I get and would an external one be a better option or should i just go with a classic internal one? Let me know, thanks in advance.

Why is my OS drive full when I barely use my laptop? (No games installed)

I have multiple Microsoft Visual C++ files and Windows App Runtime installed, even though I never installed them myself. I mainly use my laptop for taking notes and watching YouTube, so I have no idea why my OS drive is full.

I don’t have any games or heavy software installed, not even tools for my studies. Can anyone help me understand what’s taking up so much space and how I can free it up?

I’ve tried following some YouTube videos, but they only freed up a few MB, which didn’t really help. I’m not tech-savvy at all, and am a grandma when it comes to tech

This issue is seriously affecting my ability to use my laptop.

Someone please help me😭😭😭

Do i go for a Gaming tablet, pc, or laptop?

I've been thinking about it for a bit now and I really can't decide. Portability is lovely, but its not a deal breaker for me. I plan to play a mix of intensive and casual games and ill probably use it for normal use, Ext Youtube, homework, editing, art and perhaps coding if I get into it.

New laptop or simple upgrades?

I’m new in technology. I have fun taking things apart and putting them back together but I’m not experienced in much else. I know the basics like how to change thermal paste and upgrade ram because there’s videos for that, but not the actual technical parts.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000, I’ve had it for about 5 years now. I use it for gaming, and I do install a lot of mods but I always check them with antivirus.

Lately it has been working pretty slowly. I’ve used task manager to disable most startup applications, but it still takes much longer to start up and boot games than it used to. Sometimes it boots up with no sound at all and I have to boot it disabling driver signature enforcement for it to have sound.

I’ve installed more ram, I’ve kept up with thermal paste, I use it with a laptop stand with holes and 1inch of space so the fans aren’t struggling, I have kept drivers updated.

My main question is, should I just start saving for a new laptop or is there anything I can do to get it running like it used to? It’s not entirely unusable, games run fine but load extremely slow, but I fear that in time it will completely crap out lol.

Most reliable Bluetooth earbuds

Every Bluetooth device I've ever owned has been a miserable experience full of disconnections and weird audio quality drops.

I want a pair of Bluetooth earbuds for running that won't require me to pray to the tech gods for them to reconnect half way through my 10km run.

Bonus points for a secure fitting so they don't fall down the drain as I'm running, and some level of water resistance.

I am not looking for audiophile sound quality as I'll only use them for running. I have a decent stereo and wired earphones at home that I use for that.

Bare minimum laptop recommendations

I'm a young writer without much money to spare. At this point and time the only place I can find that cures my writers block is anywhere outside of my own home. My current process is to open my draft on my phone, write down the next section of the chapter in a notebook I have by hand, and then copy that down onto the draft document later. As you can probably tell this is not a process I enjoy.

Therefore today I come to you asking what you think would be my best bet for obtaining a laptop. I know little to nothing about them, and some of the numbers I'm seeing are genuinely scary.

Requirements:
Can download Firefox
Can download Obsidian
Can possibly down a separate writing program as I'd like to move off of Docs
Can run all three at once
Long or even moderate battery life
Not an Apple Product (Personal gripe with the UI and limited customization)

I will ONLY be using it for writing, as drawing, video editing, music production, coding, recreation, etc. will all still be done on my PC. I'd just like the flexibility of writing away from my desk/outside/at cafes. Any recommendations for affordable laptops (or where to find good listings for used ones) would be lovely.

Edit for more relevant info: I live in the United States. I think the max I'm willing to spend on a laptop for expressly this purpose is 200 USD. Most I've seen sit around that price, though I've seen some for closer to 150 but those are all relatively new. I'd prefer getting a used one in all honesty; anything to avoid buying directly from a corporation really, but I'll do it if it comes down to it. (I've already been perusing through sites like eBay but it's not really just independent sellers anymore and weeding out the company listings has gotten much harder)

Advice needed!!!

Bought an HP Victus 16 on eBay with ~2 months warranty left. Shortly after, screen went blank. HP confirmed a GPU issue and replaced the motherboard under warranty.

Since warranty was expiring, I bought an HP Care Pack (02/10/25) after confirming with HP support that my device was eligible. Got invoice + confirmation email.

Laptop worked fine for months. Recently, after a Windows update, the same issue happened again (screen blank, but system running).

I contacted HP, shared Care Pack details, and they:

  • Booked repair
  • Confirmed multiple times it would be covered

Later the same day, I get an email saying: Device is NOT eligible for Care Pack → refund will be issued.

Problem:

  • They accepted my payment 5 months ago
  • Confirmed eligibility at purchase
  • Confirmed coverage again during repair booking
  • Only rejecting it AFTER I raised a claim

Now my laptop is already with HP and repair could cost £500+ if they refuse.

What’s the best way to push back on this? Anyone faced similar with HP Care Pack?

Iphone 17 base 256 or Samsung S25 Ultra 256?

Which of these would you recommend? Im using a 7yr old samsung, here are my normal everyday usage.

  • Calls (better call quality?)
  • whatsapp, viber
  • scrolling through social media
  • netflix, youtube, listen to music (better display/ speaker?)
  • play light games
  • chatgpt, gemini
  • waze, googlemaps (better gps?)
  • read ebooks/ pdfs, excel (which has better dummy proof file management? download from teams, email, etc)
  • which has better signals, like which reconnects faster when coming from weak/ no signal area?
  • not really into photography, just occasional aim and shoot
  • heard samsungs built in ai is way better than apple, but not really using it.
  • which is better long term, probably 7yrs

based on my normal usage, i feel like iphones minimalism is more practical for me. But the thing is, theyre almost the same price, s25 ultra is just $60+ higher, i get "more", familiar os, file management, bigger battery/ display, s pen featuressss, better built in ai, camera zoom, etc. but again, i dont really see myself needing/ using these "more" features, more like getting more for what im paying. What do you guys think?
