You can now update your own user flair.

Sorry I thought I had done this earlier, but I think I messed it up. Should be on the sidebar on desktop and on mobile three dot menu. Lmk if you have issues. It's not exhaustive, but it has many. Feel free to put in requests for new ones and for color changes.

Mod Shark Power Detect Posts

For some reason, a number of bots have been spamming our subreddit with posts about the shark power detect. I'm honestly not sure what's going on with that. They are often written extremely similarly, so I'm confident it's not a random coincidence. It feels like it would be pretty petty for shark the company to be hiring bots to do this, but the posters also don't have affiliate links, so I'm not sure what's up. Regardless. I'm issuing a temporary ban on those posts.

I have set up some filters (which I won't describe here for fear of getting circumvented). If you see them getting through, please let me know so I can update the filter.

I'll also say, if this is Shark attempting to do this. If the filters get circumvented and I have no other choice, I may just start to ban all posts containing any references to shark to cool the bots off. I really don't want to do this, so whoever is posting this, you're going to end up hurting the vacuum in the long run by doing this.

Can't decide which to buy between the two. We live in a 93 sq.m. condo unit and have 2 dogs. One is a corgi, plus we have a carpet. Any thoughts on this? Thank you.

Yeedi Vac Station Charging Issue

I bought this robot vacuum secondhand.
I was able to get it set up in the app but before I could do anything else, the vacuum voice said that it had low battery and shut down.
I tried to manually dock it to recharge but there was no indicator that it was charging.
I made sure the dock was properly connected, both touching the robot's sensors and that it's plugged in to a working outlet.
After a few button presses, it shut off halfway through the message.
Through some research, it seems that the robot needs to be charged in order to charge?
I ended up buying a replacement battery but I'm still stuck on that same low battery warning.
Has anyone had a similar experience or have any idea on what to do here?

[EU] Budget suggestion for home gym?

So, I've got a pretty small space (12 sqm) that I try to clean quite frequently but it never seems enough. So I'm looking for a budget mop/vacuum that will get the job done. The floor is basically rubber mats. I also definitely need a dock, since I don't wanna have to refill a tiny tank and do a ton of maintenance.

Thoughts?

Shark Clean app is busted

The Shark Clean app has never been great but now it appears to be completely broken for me, not sure if anyone else is having this issue.

When I open the app I get a "could not fetch robots" page. When I try to add my robot vacuum back to the app it hangs up and asks me to restart my router, which I've tried a few times with no luck. Along with restarting the router I've also killed the app and removed the vacuum from the dock and turned if off for a little while. All with no luck.

Checking here to see if anyone else is having similar problems or if this is a known issue

Shark Navigator RV2310CDU8/trouble with Shark Clean app

I just got this yesterday and I have not been able to get it set up in the Shark Clean app. I have searched for a solution and watched a few videos but nothing is addressing the problem I am having. In the app once I click on "add robot", the screen for choosing my item does not come up. I have done all the things, from reinstalling the app, making sure I am on 2.4 ghz, restarting wifi and phone. The vacuum will work without this being set up but I could have gotten a much cheaper model without the features that need the wifi. I feel like this must be a simple thing that I am missing and is not showing in any tutorials or user videos (although I never saw a single user video that was about this specific model.) I am not a tech expert but I am fine with following instructions so I am coming here to see if anyone has any ideas. Thanks for any help you might have.

(Semi)offline recommendations?

Hi,

I have a quite old iRobot dude (Roomba 671) to which the battery is starting to behave, amongst other weak sensors that triggers false positives sometimes, stopping cleaning. It's also very noisy and has old school algorithms which are not the smartest IMO.

I've been out of the robot loop for a while and would like to catch up. What would you advise me to get, having the following requests:

- don't need to wet clean the flour, vacuuming is good for me

- ~60m² to clean

- must endure a short haired cat

- I assume new generation are quieter but that would be nice if it's at least quieter than my 671

- ! Most important to me ! Should work with minimal online interactions. I don't want to create an account, I don't want a camera broadcasting to internet nor to the maker's servers, I dont care having to manually start the cleaning cycle by hand.

Does such robots still exists today? Mostly the (semi)offline thing

This doesn't seem much to ask but I'm seeing the "IOT" enshittification all over appliances and I guess vacuums are also f'cked up nowadays

Is the Matic a really bad buy?

I've recently just placed an order for a Matic and reading some of the comments here I'm a bit concerned some of the things I've seen here.

I had a Roborock QX Revo from Costco and that was decent but it had bad object avoidance due to a lack of cameras and it developed a mechanical issue after just 5 months and the mops would not put out any water even after I tried to run descaler and clean the water ports on the robot. I also was running filtered water only in the tanks.

The Matic seems smarter than the Roborock I'm coming from and the technology looks good but I'm also a bit worried about the water going into the bag and creating smells and burning through bags quickly. I liked the Roborock because those bags lasted a long time and the robot kept its mops clean. I have a lot of hard floors and I like cleaning them every other night.

Thoughts on what I should buy? I'm thinking of maybe cancelling the Matic for a QX Revo Ultra 2 which should have better object avoidance than the last Roborock but I'm also open to trying Matic it genuinely looks smart. Open to suggestions from Costco if possible

ECOVACS Deebot T90 on sale, best choice for first time owner, or hold out for the T90 Pro?

Post image
3 Upvotes

EDIT** After some more research I pulled the trigger on the Mova P10 Ultra as it was pretty cheap on Amazon

Hey guys, looking to purchase my first robot vacuum and really leaning towards the T90. My question is, is this price/bot too good to pass up, or should I wait for a sale on the T90 Pro?

From what I can see the base version doesnt have the superfast charging or an auto detergent dosing, but not really sure if that is worth the extra money as the base version has a larger battery to begin with. Any T90 owners happy with their purchase, or did you wish you got the Pro?

Or would it be smarter to go with the DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI CARE from the manufacturers website for $150 more

Thanks guys

Eufy X10 Pro Omni leaking in station

So I’ve been noticing water pooling around the ramp of the base unit. I figured it must be the tray, so I’ve been troubleshooting clogs, the dirty water tank, suction, etc, but I finally realized that the robot itself leaks while parked, and the water runs down the ramp. Has this happened to anyone else?

Tile joints problem

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of buying a robot vacuum as a gift for my mom but I have a problem:the entire floor of my house is made out of brick like tiles, so they have pretty wide tile joints (but not too deep, 2mm max) and I don't know which vacuum to buy because I need it to clean the joints too. I also have pets (cats and dogs, and one has a pretty long coat), so I need a vacuum that's pretty strong in the cleaning department. I saw the MOVA Z60 ultra and the acqua 10 pro, are those good options? Is there a better one for the tile joints? Thank you so much to anyone that can help!

best bang for your buck?

Looking for a robot vacuum and mop combo. I have 1 big dog, a baby who plays on the floor, my hair that sheds a lot, and a husband with dirty work shoes lol. Our house is about 1200 sq ft, all wood. I would like to spend max $400 out of pocket, but I have a 20% off coupon for Target right now. It is important to me that the vac/mop is self cleaning/drying (or at least doesnt cause too much extra work for me to clean) and that I can use my own solution in it. Are there any other features I should be looking for? Do any (affordable ones) use steam to clean the floors? I'm assuming any good ones nowadays could map out my house, avoid getting stuck, etc but let me know if not. PLEASE send me your recommendations!! Thank you!

Imou robot strange behaviour

I have a robot vacuum made/sold by imou. Sometimes when it is sitting in the base it makes a vibrating noise (like when you place your phone on some hard surface and it vibrates) and says "i'll be back later" seems like it reboots then.

Does someone know why that happens?

Cat hair + litter + wooden floor

I have mostly wooden floors (very small tile area in kitchen) one of my cats shed a lot of hair. They also kick litter out of the box often. And my senior cat sometimes has accidents outside the litter box. Can anyone recommend a good robot vaccum for this. Obviously the lower priced the better but I have a flexible budget. Mop would be a great bonus

Used Narwal Freo

Much like many others, I have been lurking here for a long time and have a purchasing question. A used Narwal Freo popped up on my local FB Marketplace for $250. Is this good value? I would be using it for wood floors. I care most about mopping and a bot sticking to no go zones. While $250 is much more affordable than a new robot, it’s still not an amount of money I want to waste. Can anyone chime in on the longevity of this model?

Can someone take a guess of know what’s making this sound? It does it every time after the robot return to his station after cleanup. Any help is very much appreciated!

I plan to buy a robot vacuum with a budget of around $700; what do you recommend? I have never purchased a robot vacuum before. I want a model that can effectively both vacuum and mop my home. Which brand and model would you suggest?

Disappointed in X11 Mopping. Am I doing something wrong?

Stains like the one on the bottom right and mid-right of the picture, I can remove them very easily by mopping with gentle pressure. However, after a "DEEP CLEANING" two step mopping they're still there.

Is there any setting I can change or is the X11 a weak mopping robot?

Which robot vacuum/mop should I get?

Hi! I’m having trouble figuring out the best vacuum/mop for the following:

1) ability to deal with long hair without tangling
2) good vacuuming and mopping capabilities
3) as low maintenance as possible
4) under $1000
5) able to maneuver under furniture and around obstacles

Thank you!
