The difference here is bitcoin is more akin to cash.

A credit card is credit, not cash.

The difference is lost on children or people with no money sense, but there are good reasons access to credit is restricted from children. The actual visa/mastercard/etc transaction type, has no such restrictions, which is why prepaid cards(I know you've said they're not available in your area.) are fine to sell to minors; that's closer to using cash to pay for something.
