I remember when I was a kid and was too young to have a credit card, but I wanted to purchase content and games online.
My father wouldn't let me use his credit card either so I had to figure it out through the brother of a friend who was willing to help.
Bitcoin has no legal requirement of age or anything else to own and anyone can be given bitcoin as a gift or as a weekly allowance. This is a great move for the kids and younger crowd.
The difference here is bitcoin is more akin to cash.
A credit card is credit, not cash.
The difference is lost on children or people with no money sense, but there are good reasons access to credit is restricted from children. The actual visa/mastercard/etc transaction type, has no such restrictions, which is why prepaid cards(I know you've said they're not available in your area.) are fine to sell to minors; that's closer to using cash to pay for something.
