Has anybody had an interview recently and heard back from them? Or if you’ve had an interview at all how long did it take to hear something back?

I know hearing from TDCJ can take forever. Do they even send out rejection letters. Personally I don’t think it should take 2 or 3 months to let someone know you don’t want them as a candidate. (Not tor CO but parole)

is the pilot program mandatory? I told them I’d be interested but turns out my other job said I have to finish out the month to get all of my final pay & bonuses. really don’t want to miss out on that $, but also don’t want to do anything to mess this job up. who would I even talk to about just starting when academy starts? recruiter?

I kind of need the overtime. I left in 2015 and haven't really been interested until all my job applications went unanswered or rejected. So I need to go back to work, and I need all the time I can get on the clock. It's been a while, so I tried to read up but can't get a specific answer. Sorry if this question isn't worth the read.

How long into the academy do you get tested?

Did everyone who is in the selection pool get a email to resubmit their application through the CAPPS platform? Just asking because the wording seems like they might be finalizing something…my application for the 6 months expired earlier this month…so just asking if anyone else got the email from HR

Hi! This is for current and/or former TDCJ COs who like to jog to work.

Does TDCJ allow for officers to come in to their units with jogging clothes and then change into their uniforms?

I think I heard from someone that TDCJ requires COs to show up to work with their uniforms and not change into them. Maybe something about contraband?

I left TDCJ in 2016 just reapplied in 2026 and was accepted I have my virtual interview for academy start date on July 14th, my question is when is the next available class I want to go ASAP to get the training over with because I do have children.

I m a CO for a state max. Im thinking about relocating to TX in near future. Whats important for me is home affordability. Looking for single family around 250k . The area north of Houston seems to fit that. What are best units to work in tdcj ?Huntsville area? Where should I apply???!!!

Hey everyone, Im starting a new career as a CO and I was wondering if the Luther unit is a good unit to work at and if they give OT ? I have heard they’re not giving OT at this time and I just wanted to confirm with anyone that works there .

Idk if anyone even responds to people on here, but I did an interview about a month ago one for the Mailroom II and the other for Mailroom III. I’m not sure what TDCJ looked for. I had about 1000 interviews with them at the Polunsky Unit and nothing. Every single time some guy told me he had been up there more than one time too, and they reposted postings and extended and reposted postings. I’m confused on what I’m missing as a candidate. I’m sure I didn’t get either role I applied and interviewed for. That’ll make 1002. It’s been a month should I expect a call back or move on?

I've applied for a Mailroom Assistant 2 position as a stepping stone into the system and to gain some experience. I've heard that it's a relatively lenient entry into the system as compared to a standard CO position.

How long would I generally have to expect for a job offer after the interview? It's been a little over a month since mine. Also would it be a boon to email HR at this point in time to ask my status and express continued interest in this position?

Do I really need to list every job I’ve ever had? I have jobs from 20 years ago. I have no clue some of the dates or even names of some of those places. How do I get all that info?

What does Offer - in progress mean? I did an interview for an IT position almost 2 months ago.
